Months ago most wore masks but once everything opened back up people acted like it was over. Actually had a patient at the hospital refuse to wear a mask when coming down for a test today because according to her "this whole thing is a big hoax” so I just refused to do her test. I’m assuming she’ll be talked into it by tomorrow when I get in. Had an EKG tech say something similar. When I told her my cousin is currently in the hospital in Orlando with covid her response was "Well at least you know someone with it”. Thought that was a super strange response. My director just said today that they are bracing for elective surgeries to be shut down again soon.

July 3, 20205 yr Don’t understand the "well I don’t know anyone who has/had covid” mentality. Nothing should stun me anymore. Even where I am with fairly low load-it did go through one of our more prominent mushroom families where both elderly parents were hospitalized. Our Hispanic worker population has also had cases which I heard was traced to a gathering. An old boss of mine who lives in Baltimore was on a ventilator. I think he’s going to make it but haven’t heard if he did. yeah, that mentality doesn’t work for me. Stay safe folks-hope you all have a good 4th.

Edit: Perhaps calling the study a "complete joke" was a poor choice of words. The study was fine, even useful, but the reaction to the study was the joke.

The 2nd one, after a study showing it effective, doesn't mention Trump at all.
