I find it odd that he needed to add the descriptor "invisible" to the "China Virus", since - ya know - viruses tend to be microscopic. But hey, at least he's wearing one.

While that is odd, it isn't surprising at all that he needed to throw in a healthy dose of racism while doing the "right thing."

Hey, a plan would be lovely. Without a plan, it all sounds like "LIBERATE MICHIGAN" "REOPEN THE ECONOMY" all over again. Which is, rushing towards an end goal (getting people to spend money again, or getting kids in school so parents can go to work and spend money again) without considering the necessary steps to EARN that end goal.  It's almost like the MLB and NFL trying to start up again...ya know, like we know how this story is gonna end. So can we at least pretend to be smart and cautious as we inevitably keep ourselves buried in this pandemic until scientists bail us out with a vaccine?

The way I look at it is we’re all coal miners now.  Coal miners brave going into dangerous conditions every day to earn their livelihood.  Not everyone is willing to take that risk but those who do get paid a little premium.  That’s how our economy should be working right now

Compared to much of the western world, we did f--k all to create or implement a unified plan to slow the spread of the virus.  So, nah, I don't think we've earned the faith and trust that's needed for members of this society to rekindle our relationship with the economy. People aren't gonna go to malls and movie theaters when they risk bringing a virus with them on their weekly trips to grandma's house.

100% predictable.  he'll come out wearing a mask for the daily briefings in hopes that his numbers will improve. it has nothing to do with patriotism & everything to do with reelection.

Get your popcorn ready!

In order to convince him, aides developed a compromise: his briefings could cover a range of topics, not only the pandemic.
That means it's likely the country will hear about a number of unrelated issues when the President takes the podium, including references to quelling protests in Portland and federal efforts to tamp down on violence in cities with Democratic mayors -- two of Trump's fixations which he believes play well with his supporters

amen, brutha. he's doing this in place of rallies.

It didn’t have to be this way. Nations all over the world successfully flattened the curve and are starting to reopen responsibly. These nations all have something we do not: a head of state that trusts science, listens to experts and puts the good of the people first. Had Trump heeded the warnings and responded appropriately, we would have flattened the curve and returned to something close to normal by now. We have not.

it's going to disappear and he's going to be right.  That's what he told Wallace.  I did not see the whole interview.  Today will be more of the same.

more politics there than science

we agree Trump has bungled it but our country's size and demographics pose an entirely different challenge than small nations with few urban centers.

Yeah, just like a broken clock is right twice a day.  Eventually it will disappear.  Might be 100 years from now.

There are some differences, but not enough to explain away what's going on.

Trump has not really tried. That the bottom line. He just wants to wish it away.

He's a child.

College I think is a little different...by that time many students don’t wanna sit in lecture halls and are more adaptable to remote learning.  It will prepare them for the outside world.  Especially junior and seniors. Freshman and sophomores might still want that college life.   So I can’t say I blame them.

Some NC universities are doing all online except labs and classes where you'd need to be there. Also they changed it to 1 class a week for 2.5 hours

He is a huge Nats fan. This is akin to the President throwing out the 1st pitch for the DC team on opening day.

I think she had that "Call Me Maybe" song that was pretty big a few years ago. 🤷‍♂️ Best first pitch of all time is between hers and 50 Cent...

So mikemack's argument here is that because coronavirus doesn't infect 100% of the people in a particular situation, there's nothing to worry about?

Mike Mack went to Florida and didn’t get Corona so there’s nothing to worry about folks.  We can open the schools back up now.

Has anyone gone to Portland and not gotten killed by a rioter?  If so, we can close the book on that one too.

My point, basically, was that I did everything all you fat slob losers are terrified of doing and everything was just fine.  Weird that I had to spell it out for you, but OK.  You can all go back to your regularly scheduled fear mongering and doomsday predictions.

I think a lot of people have driven home drunk from a bar and made it home fine.

I just got back from 2 weeks in FL.  I just didn't come on here and pretend like Covid was cured after I did it.
