We cut the house in half.  My mom is watching our 2 year old son when my wife is working. We have a decent sized house so it's not terrible.  Her job knows about it, but as long as she is asymptomatic, she works like normal.

Are they testing her at all?

For free?  Can I pay not to get the vaccine?

Yeah. Add it to your tax return. Then I hope you catch the virus, to develop some antibodies, so we can all get back to some sense of normalcy. Herd immunity is a long way off. https://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/herd-immunity-and-covid-19-what-you-need-to-know/

Quote

There are two paths to herd immunity for COVID-19 — vaccines and infection
A vaccine for the virus that causes COVID-19 would be an ideal approach to achieving herd immunity. Vaccines create immunity without causing illness or resulting complications.
Herd immunity can also be reached when a sufficient number of people in the population have recovered from a disease and have developed antibodies against future infection.
Experts estimate that in the U.S., 70% of the population — more than 200 million people — would have to recover from COVID-19 to halt the epidemic.

Wednesday update. I feel like sheet today.  Mild fever persists.  Pretty much every muscle aches, especially my neck and thighs.  The sweating has continued since yesterday.  Appetite vanished today.  The thought of food makes me nauseous.

I had the measles as a teen-ager (yup, never got the shot as a kid), and this is what it was like.  Covid-19 seems to last longer based on what I’ve read though, which obviously sucks.  Feel better, man.

There are a lot of people that are way too nonchalant about getting the virus.  Not saying people should be paranoid - just more cautious.  I think that would help slow it down.

I'm not going to be the first to take a new vaccine that is rushed out probably for political reasons

Combination of the two will suffice as well.  Of course it also depends on how long the immunity lasts.

I agree, some caution goes a long way. We can't get a handle on this virus because too many people won't heed warnings. It's pretty simple:  Avoid close contact with other people. Wear a facemask if you do go out, especially if you are going to be indoors. Practice good hygiene, wash your hands, etc. Stay home if you feel sick. It's beyond frustrating we can't obey these few simple tasks.

My point, basically, was that I did everything all you fat slob losers are terrified of doing and everything was just fine.  Weird that I had to spell it out for you, but OK.  You can all go back to your regularly scheduled fear mongering and doomsday predictions.

you should take a trip to wuhan for a bat eating tour.  that would really show these morons!

They'll do human trials before it reaches the public.  So unless you agree to be a guinea pig, you won't be the first.

Who is "they” and why should I trust them to make a science based decision in the middle of something that is incredibly political

They are the companies that develop the vaccines.  The same companies that you trust to develop new drugs and other medical breakthroughs.  But don't believe them if you don't want to.  It's your life, dude.

Trump reprimands anyone for taking notes in meetings. This is well known.

Apparently that telephoto pic of his press secretary's note book has slipped by his scrutiny.

No idea.  Due to my wife being a nurse and the fear of her being exposed already, I have done ALL of the grocery shopping/retail shopping since April.  Probably picked it up at a store, getting gas, etc.  Who knows.

Whatever

I already know idiots are going to fight over whether the first people to get it are the wealthy or whatever other special interest demographic.  Maybe by the time the dust settles on that I’ll have seen how many people catch cancer or something from it and then I’ll decide

but you wont see me in the protest mob demanding the first dose

So I got to thinking, my wife over the years came down with a serious cold/flu on numerous occasions and likewise I did also, don't you know I never caught one of her ailments and she never caught one of mine.
