August 19, 20205 yr Can someone explain that whole "Kushner had a plan for testing, but now it's gone" article that came out several weeks ago? I couldn't understand any of it.

Now that red states have caught the 'rona the testing plan is to ignore it and rely on red state voters to be fox news lemmings.
August 20, 20205 yr The media isn't hiding any of this. It's quite well known. We are well aware that the young and healthy rarely die from this. But the young and healthy, when they act like idiots or are forced by the 100s into close proximity with one another, prove to be fantastic carriers - often asymptomatic carriers - which creates a huge risk for people with higher risk profiles. What's interesting about these numbers is that, looking at the cumulative death totals, COVID-19 is a factor in roughly 10% of all deaths for people 45 years and older.

The school can't say, but from their wording it sounds like they tested and found myocarditis which would be a result from COVID. I would also think if it was just an underlying condition serious enough that he can't play football they would have already tested and looked for it, even at a high school level. But who knows, really. Georgia State said it could not comment on the health of individual student-athletes because of privacy laws, but the university did say that its medical staff "regularly reviews the latest information and recommendations about SARS-CoV-2 infection in athletes, including information about cardiac concerns."

COVID has been associated with myocarditis and coronary artery aneurysms, neither of which are typical underlying abnormalities. To my knowledge they're almost always associated with some kind of infection, inflammatory condition (less common), or toxic exposure. If he had one of those (which seems most likely) something triggered it at the very least. And in any other medical situation if he was discovered to have a particular infection and one of those heart conditions it would reasonably be chalked up to being caused by that infection. FWIW.

Gotya - I didn’t see a specific issue listed that’s why I asked. Sometimes college athletes don’t find underlying conditions especially the underprivileged black kids that don’t have access to good healthcare. And the way everything is attributed to covid it makes me question it.

But there isn't much crossover between congenital heart conditions and something that be would be caused by a virus. And no "everything" is not attributed to COVID c'mon man.
