November 1, 20205 yr Atlas is a total moron, just like his boss. So sad people seriously support Trump at this point.

I think he's a relatively smart guy who has let politics overtake his reasoning, who confuses success in his field as a carte blanche to speak with authority medicine at large. He seems like a pretty successful neuroradiologist but he's not even close to Fauci's level when it comes to infectious diseases. IMO a moron is a lot less dangerous than an intelligent a-hole with an agenda.

November 2, 20205 yr I was talking to my 8 year old son about Covid the other day. He was asking what happens if you get it. I was telling him that he should be okay if he gets it and gets treated for it, but there could be issues since he has asthma, but generally he should be okay. He was asking if people could die from it, so I was telling him that yes, people can die from it, but most recover. He said "okay, that’s good. My teacher told me that people don’t die from it and that people are just exaggerating how bad it is.” I was shocked and was getting really concerned. I ask him when she told him that. He said "oh, that was back when I was in the classroom.” I was relieved, as that meant it was in early March. I explained to him that back then, we didn’t know much about it and have since learned a lot more. So while people thought that back then, most people don’t anymore.
November 2, 20205 yr I got tested yesterday, it's pretty uncomfortable and weird but not too terrible

It’s incredibly stupid and irresponsible for a politician who’s supposed to be a LEADER to be holding rallies where social distancing and wearing masks isn’t required nor encouraged.

November 2, 20205 yr Reports in today's media and also my personal contacts (anecdotal) are all up and up and this now inlcudes a couple of regions reporting a start of real upward trending with regard to admitted patients. I'll have to wait for the updated published figures which come out on Friday to see the actual details but it sure looks like we are getting deeper into a true 2nd wave.
November 2, 20205 yr Let's just open everything up and then divvy up the dead's property and stuff among the survivors.
November 2, 20205 yr Trump's herd immunity guru's conspiracy theories getting smacked down by Mark Cuban is content we can all appreciate.

Because 30,000 cases and 700 deaths can be a lot, or 30,000 cases and 700 deaths can be not that much.

How would you define irresponsible? I ask because you could make a case that most activities could be considered irresponsible if you try hard enough. What if a single death is attributed to trick-or-treating in the US? What if a single death is attributed to eating inside a restaurant? What if a single death is attributed to having kids in school? What if a single death is attributed to having food or online orders delivered?

Holy hell......................

The spread of a disease is ultimately unpreventable, despite every effort to mitigate it, whereas getting drunk is preventable.
