December 28, 20204 yr Thoughts on this study from China? Quote Published in November in the scientific journal Nature Communications, the paper was compiled by 19 scientists, mainly from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, but also from scientific institutions across China as well as in the U.K. and Australia. It focused on the residents of Wuhan, ground zero for COVID-19, where 9,899,828 people took part in a screening program between May 14 and June 1, which provided clear results as to the possibility of any asymptomatic transmission of the virus. Quote It stated that out of the nearly 10 million people in the study, "300 asymptomatic cases” were found. Contact tracing was then carried out and of those 300, no cases of COVID-19 were detected in any of them. "A total of 1,174 close contacts of the asymptomatic positive cases were traced, and they all tested negative for the COVID-19.” Both the asymptomatic patients and their contacts were placed in isolation for two weeks, and after the fortnight, the results remained the same. "None of detected positive cases or their close contacts became symptomatic or newly confirmed with COVID-19 during the isolation period.” Further evidence showed that "virus cultures” in the positive and repositive asymptomatic cases were all negative, "indicating no ‘viable virus' in positive cases detected in this study.” Wow. How is this not leading every news program in the country? Is there something wrong with the study?

I had to get tested in order to be able to go back to work after traveling the week before Christmas. I scheduled my test with CVS for Saturday morning after I returned, had my results Monday morning at 8am and back to work that day. 7 minutes ago, JohnSnowsHair said: contact free beer delivery service should be a thing. We have appointments for rapid testing at the urgent care but they want $75 a pop for that. Insurance covers CVS testing but I had heard it can take 2 weeks to get results back. 2 days is reasonable. Thanks!

Thanks! Well mine cost $139 as I had no symptoms- but yeah it was a really easy and smooth process. I was shocked at how quickly I got the results. Again, though, rural area so not nearly as many people being tested.

My sister hosted Christmas Dinner like normal. Fewer people showed up because of the 'rona, but everyone was invited. We visited with them Christmasorning before the crowd got there, sat across the room from them, and we all wore masks the whole time. We spent the rest of the day with my mom, wearing masks, and keeping our distance. We were actually there for 2.5 days and wore masks any time we were in the same room. Found out yesterday that one of my cousins tested positive. He hosted Christmas Eve dinner with a handful of people at his house, including my aunt and his MIL both of whom are in their 70s. So far nobody else has symptoms that I know of. My BIL drove across the state to visit his family the weekend before Christmas. When he got there he found out his dad had a fever and was sick, but instead of turning around he stayed there all weekend anyway and got sick after he got home. He's positive and risked infecting his wife and son, and also went back to work before he had developed symptoms. People are morons.
December 29, 20204 yr I reported a restaurant the other day, there must be over a hundred cars there everyday. While other restaurants are following the rules and struggling these a-holes are having a grand old time. I would of let it go but, then my mom who just got out of the hospital with emphysema and copd tells me my dad goes there a fee times a week because they don't make you wear masks and you can sit at the bar. My dad's thinking is he hasn't gotten the virus so no one else should. Can't even trust your own family to not be stupid.

When we say "the flu" we're referring to influenza which is a set of viruses with recombinant surface proteins that allow them to rapidly mutate. When we say "the coronavirus" we're only referring specifically to one, very dangerous, very deadly, but thus far relatively slow to mutate virus. It is this recombinant nature of influenza strains that result in flu vaccines that may only have efficacy of 40% and a less durable immune response overall. Conversely, the first 2 sars-cov-2 vaccines from biontech and moderna have already shown efficacy of about 95% with improvements very likely to be made within the next few years.

If it was a restaurant with multiple health code violations for unsanitary conditions and people were getting sick from eating there, nobody would bat an eye at you reporting them for flouting health department orders. But now because their lord and savior downplayed the worst pandemic in a century, suddenly they have to take up the mantle and defend these like-minded "patriots" trying to kill their own customers. You didn't do anything wrong, anyone who says otherwise is a moron.

However, when it's my own damn dad ( thinks the virus is a joke) and the reason he is going is because this restaurant has literally not followed or is following a single protocol or guidline the entire year then I have a problem with it All the other restaurants have been doing what they can to survive this while staying compliant with the pandemic rules in place. Some reason or another this restaurant is the only one that is being left go to do whatever they want while others suffer. A lot of restaurants have stayed open despite the orders of Wolfe which is fine in my book but, they are staying open while trying to keep everyone safe. These effers never closed once the entire year and have not followed a single guidline..... Must be paying off the local cops or some sheet it's unreal.
