Ok.... help me out here.  I just heard this for the first time.  Someone was telling me that if you pack snow real tight it can't melt because its an insulator.  I remained polite and didn't ask him if he was EagleVA, but is there some sort of video going around stating this?  Is this some flat earth thing?

It definitely takes LONGER for packed snow to melt - hence all the giant piles of snow from plow trucks that don’t melt until about May here in the northeast.  But can’t melt?  I don’t think so.

I’ve flown several times since this all started - I thought the airlines did a nice job of enforcing the mask wearing and making you feel generally ok about flying.

Masks are all well and good.  But the flight was PACKED.  That makes me nervous since we are all in a single tube sharing the same air.

 

Same goes for hotels and elevators.

Yeah there’s certainly no getting around that - from what I’ve seen they haven’t limited the number of seats sold.  If they can sell out the plane, they’re doing it

It's a way out there conspiracy by a bunch of moron who don't understand science even when it's explained to them. So yeah, it's an EagleVA thing. The new thing I have read lately is Joe Biden used whatever fictional tech they think we have to make what is happening in Texas happen.

Yes it eventually  melts. What happens when you hold a small flame under packed snow is the water gets sucked into the snow so if you only hold the flame on it briefly you will not see water drip off it. There is also a mechanism where the water (snow) goes right from a solid to a gas.

 

But seeing as though your BFF is our resident cart boy troll, there is a better than average chance you believe this crap.

Eh...I was in Kentucky in November, and it was maybe ~60-65% of people wearing masks.
