March 3, 20214 yr Has anyone mentioned the thread title for this thread is no longer politically correct. It’s COVID-19

What's not so PC about that? Based on the context of the thread, corona is short for coronavirus, a virus that causes disease. COVID-19 is the specific disease. You must be clear about what it is you're talking about.

But us actual scientists don’t know whether you mean the common cold or Covid-19

Basically it means you won't end up in a hospital, but could still come down with symptoms and possibly feel like crap, just not bad enough to seek treatment for it.

So you might get sick, but not sick enough to be hooked up to a ventilator? Good enough for me.

My brother, SiL and nephew all got covid this past week. Their symptoms were just mild cold like symptoms and my brother lost his taste and smell for a couple days. All are fine. If it can take the people who might experience the symptoms worse down to that...perfect.

And just to be straight, I totally believe that this pandemic will be over in the US within 2-3 months. Once you have the 40-50% of the population that is most vulnerable 80-90% vaccinated, it's over. But premature celebrating is only get more people killed and those are the saddest deaths of them all, the ones that die needlessly at the finish line. btw, the masks, FFS, keep the masks on til the end of the year. Are they burning your skin? Well tough cookies because we will be wearing them in hospitals and airports for the next 3 years.

I was just saying that if the J&J vaccine can reduce people who may experience severe symptoms down to something my family members experience it's a win. I wasn't downplaying the virus.

March 3, 20214 yr Don't look now but corona virus has religion now too! Good God. ‘”However, if one can choose among equally safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, the vaccine with the least connection to abortion-derived cell lines should be chosen,” the bishops said. "Therefore, if one has the ability to choose a vaccine, Pfizer or Moderna’s vaccines should be chosen over Johnson & Johnson’s.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/catholic-bishops-tell-faithful-to-avoid-johnson-johnson-vaccine-if-possible/ar-BB1ed8t8?ocid=msedgntp
