Is it the UK variant that's prevalent in Michigan? That seems to be the one that's spreading here. Also seeing a major upswing in infections/hospitalizations in both age groups you mentioned.

We don't know, but it's gotta be one of them.

People still won't wear masks, or follow any other guidelines.

There is nothing you can say.

Who is not wearing masks? in most states it is  required anywhere you go, even in places like Texas, most businesses require masks and social distancing. The Masks are not as great as people seem to think

We all Fing annoyed and if someone would have given a damn and just promoted masks for 9 months we wouldn't be in this mess.

The states that have strictest mask mandates  are still having problems, like Michigan and California and NY.

Numbers are on the way up on this side of Lake Huron too. The 7 day rolling average has increased every single day for the last two weeks. The Toronto area just came out of enhanced lockdown/restrictions and vaccinations are happening at a snail's pace. Not to get too "Joe Shades" here, but we're in some trouble

I really don't want to be right, I am not trolling and never was I wish I could snap my finger and make it go away <_<, it is natural reaction for people to blame the messenger so I understand the anger directed at me,  you need to accept the Jays may never play there again, this is not going away, and no one can compare this virus to the spanish flu, so many more people so there is more congestion, it is harder to spread out and so many more idiots around to spread the virus. If there were zero variants then yes in a year or so after everyone was vaccinated it would be over because the vaccine is great for the original virus

Masks if used properly are and always have been a good tool to use in the right situations to help slow down the spread. Nothing more nothing less.

Mask up and wash your hands, you pathetic Fing idiots.

I grew up before there was a vaccine for chicken pox. I got shingles.

You don't want that. Or any of these.

Visiting my in-laws this weekend, arrived last night. MIL is fully vaccinated, wife and I both got J&J last week, and FIL got first dose of Pfizer bit missed 2nd due to a severe migraine so he's getting 2nd dose next week. Last night, he was griping to me comparing people who whine about wearing masks claiming it is infringing on their rights to people that are really having their rights taken away like fun owners... He's telling me all of this while refusing to wear a mask around us because he doesn't think it is necessary despite us having asked him to...I really hate humanity sometimes

I needed a new heel for my shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.

Fascinating. Tell me more.

Trolls are ugly creatures that live under bridges and smear their feces into their matted fur to make themselves look dangerous, they think.

Sadly, it just makes them smell even worse that usual, which is pretty bad.

The thing to do with a  troll is not to feed it. You can kick it, throw a rock at it or poke it with a stick, but avoid skin contact. Some of them are known to slobber the knob of diseased snake-oil salesmen, and you know how they get around.

It's a politically polarizing issue now. Just because they're required doesn't mean everyone is complying and that businesses are enforcing it. You've seen these psychos fly off the handle when someone tells them they have to put one on, right? Also, dining establishments and outdoor gatherings (where they also often aren't required) are likely driving factors.

Millions are not wearing masks. Millions say they will not get the vaccine. Millions still believe COVID is a hoax, thanks to the former president and groups like Fox news.

MI was actually doing fairly well until about 2 weeks ago. Oddly coincidental with loosening of restrictions.

Normal, as in how it was before the pandemic, in the long, long ago? Assuming that "normal" in 2019 was so great anyway, sure, we're looking at at least another year, but that doesn't mean we can start getting back to some semblance of normality over the course of this year. It's a slow, gradual process that will not be without some bumps along the way.

When you can demonstrate a single functioning brain cell.

It really cannot be overstated how much brain damage was caused by all those paint chips k-mart Kz ate as a kid.

When your paycheck doesn't come from K-mart anymore

It probably doesn't have all its shots, either.

I was going to say the raptors will stay in Tampa also but why pour salt on the wound

The 4th wave is definitely here, so all of us vaccinated folk should have prime conditions to put that immunity to the test <_<
