Yeah.  I'm trying to make it to my 1st vaccine shot in a month.  We've had 5 cases in my office of 12 in the last month or so.  Great during tax season.  Our office is pretty safe (masks, sanitizer, etc...) and most of the cases are because of outside contacts.  I'm just locking myself in my office with as little contact as possible.  Trying to survive a tax season in which 4 CPAs have been out for the better part of the last month.  It's a kick in the dick.

That really sucks, especially at this time of year and with vaccination getting so close.

Positivity rate at 9.5% today with elective surgeries now scrapped.

We're averaging ~17% for the past week. This is fine.

When you don't have socialized health care, you can be more efficient.  I'd put the cap at 22-25% tops.

If Joe says surge, you can ignore it.  He was literally saying that during  a steep decline in cases when a single day reported slightly higher numbers.

I'm here to help.

What about eruption ?

It just came out that schools are about to go back to 100% online learning too. Here we are 14 months later and this is still a gigantic sheet show.

Just about 6500 new cases in PA For Saturday and Sunday. Ready for liftoff!

Really the important thing from this point on is hospitalizations and deaths, there are going to be many cases for a very long time, well forever

I deleted the comment, because I didn't realize they lumped two days together for that figure. I don't know why, but PA always combines Sat and Sun numbers. So, we're really right around 3k/day, which is more or less on line with the 7-day avg.

Medical Hypotheses is a not-conventionally-peer reviewed medical journal published by Elsevier. It was originally intended as a forum for unconventional ideas without the traditional filter of scientific peer review, "as long as (the ideas) are coherent and clearly expressed" in order to "foster the diversity and debate upon which the scientific process thrives."

Good news Joe!  New Cases dropped by over 29,000 from yesterday.  We went from 85,514 to 56,490!

Cherry picking statistics is fun.

Older daughter got a headache and felt generally tired and crappy all day.

I had that pre-headache tightness for a while, but I wonder how much of that is me searching myself for symptoms?

Wife got hers this afternoon. Arm sore but nothing more so far.

Only 6 cases of blood clots (reported so far) out of 6 million+ J&J shots administered.

Plot twist: J&J and AZ are the same vaccine.

Joking aside, like the approved mRNA vaccines, they are more similar than they are different. Both viral vector delivery mechanisms using an adenovirus (Ad26 in the former, chimpanzee in the latter.)
