Rogan insists on his podcast healthy young adults do not need to be vaccinated:

I am happy his kids only got mild illness. This is not always the case. MIS-C can happen. A few kids have died. And we still don't know the long-term effects of COVID exposure. What health surprises are waiting for his kids in years to come? You can't be giving general advice based on the outcomes of your own 2 children.

Everybody should get the vaccine to have more protection, to snuff the virus out.

The fact that an idiot blowhard like Joe Rogan has a national platform to give medical advice (and people listen to him) is precisely why we can't have nice things in America.

I agree with Rogan. Young people almost never die of the virus, and we don't know the long-term effects of mRNA vaccines on humans anymore than we know the long-term effects of Covid-19. Not everyone trusts big pharma as blindly as CVON's ishlibs, and I think they've given us plenty of reason to be skeptical over the years.

I know when I'm in need of an expert medical opinion, my first thought is to get the advice of the guy who smokes a lot of DMT. Those Machine Elves know some sh**. Screw doctor's offices, I'll just seek out the nearest wook next time I'm at a music festival. Take that, Deep State!

This debate is hilarious.  Trust science, doctors and pharmaceutical companies, or trust the former POTUS and guys like Joe Rogen.

So my choices are people trained in medicine, or people on the same level as the flat earth society.

VERY EASY CHOICE.

You mean the people who were prescribing opioids like tic-tacs and helped create an epidemic in America? Yeah, those dudes have never missed the mark.

I do think we will have a better summer. By then, most adults who want vaccines will have found them. Most everyone I know, friends and family, have started vaccination and will be fully vaccinated in the next few weeks. Even last summer, when the virus was spreading like wildfire, it calmed down over summer months. All good signs. Then, hopefully by next year, we can all travel again safely. ;)

Let's hope so buddy let's hope so! I've had my first jab! My Mrs has had both. Things are moving in the right direction.

Sure we have epidemiologists with PhDs and years of experience, but Joe Rogan hosted fear factor 20 years ago. It's a tough call.

Yup. And mrna platform development is a game changer. Not only was efficacy super high, but we can now crank out tweaked versions in a matter of months using the same proven delivery mechanism.

Yeah but.....  this is an emergency situation.  Wouldn't clinical trials greatly slow it down in the future?

New CDC guidance regarding masks:

This is supposed to be less confusing? I know they want to incentivize folks to get vaccinated, but it seems this guidance allows people to flaunt the rules instead. There's still a lot of people out there looking for vaccination; almost all children aren't vaccinated at all yet. To me, it feels too early to relax guidelines.

It looks like exactly how I have been conducting myself already

I honestly didn't think people actually ate there, or at Applebee's. Never been to either. Seem awful.

Now Chili's on the other hand...legit when craving crap food. Cheesecake Factory too.

EDIT: In high school, we used to go to Chili's and order the bottomless chips and a drink with free refills. They'd usually toss us out after like an hour.

The skillet queso is great (can make it at home now), but I really enjoy Chili’s Buffalo chicken ranch sandwich.  I’m not sure why, but it’s one of the best I’ve had.

Last time I ate at a Chili's they didn't bother peeling the plastic tags off the peppers in the fajitas.

My oldest worked at Applebee's in the 2000s and we don't eat there. Ever.

I have nothing against chains and cheap food, but at some the lack of care seems endemic.

That's clearly a function of either (i) being too poor or (ii) being placed on the no-fly list for constantly telling everyone onboard how the plane is going to crash at any moment.

Or both

Applebee's and Red Lobster are putrid. I go to a few local chain steak places like twice a month when we don't want to cook. The Longhorns by me is ok. Also a chain restaurant call BJs Brewhouse opened around here last year and they are a decent place to sit and have a few beers with a meal. Other than that I avoid chains and prefer local places that have seasonal menus made with fresh, local ingredients.

Cheap food is underrated and mocked by rich people. In an episode of succession one of the rich guys made fun of one of the kids because he like California pizza kitchen. That is just wrong. Then they went to eat some bird

Just got my first vaccine shot. Got a tingly feeling in my back. Hoping it’s the wings growing.

It's just your tablet screen starting to grow.  It comes with a removable keyboard.

Common 5G feedback issue with the chip.  They'll patch it with next year's shot.
