EMTALA was started to prevent hospitals from transferring uninsured patients out of their ERs and to other hospitals. It has turned into people using the ER as their primary care.

June 6, 20214 yr Saw someone at the grocery store yesterday wearing two masks (and a pair of gloves). I know that was a thing for a bit. I was confused as I’d imagine anyone who would wear two masks would’ve received the vaccine and thus not required to wear the mask in the store. Sure, there will be plenty of people who wear a mask after being fully vaccinated, but wearing two masks seemed odd to me.

Well first off, there really wasn’t a "moratorium” on research to begin with. There was a moratorium on NEW funding for certain proposed research. It had no affect on existing research. Also out of 21 proposed projects that were affected by the halt in new funding, 11 of them still got approved to go ahead anyway.
