Royal Caribbean plans to keep unvaccinated guests away by making cruises expensive and uncomfortable for them

For those ships with few or no children, Royal Caribbean plans to ensure more than 95 percent of those on board will be vaccinated. Other ships will see the vast majority of adults vaccinated.

Among the ways it’s doing this is by requiring multiple tests for adults who refuse to show proof of a vaccine. A negative test from within the past 72 hours is required, followed by a second test at the terminal. A third test will be taken within 24 hours before disembarkation. Tests two and three will be conducted by a third party contracted by the cruise line. Those two tests will cost a combined $136 per person, charged to the guest’s onboard expense account.

After the initial two negative tests, passengers who do not provide proof of a vaccine will be barred from some onboard events and venues. Vaccinated guests will be able to access special events and venues specifically designed for them where masks won’t be required. Entertainment onboard will include select showtimes set aside for vaccinated guests only. Unvaccinated guests will also be forced to dine in a separate area and cannot take advantage of flexible options for eating outside of reserved times.

Okay, he may have posted a sweet gif in the George Floyd thread. Caddyshack is one of the best "go to" movies when you don't know what you want to watch.

So..... a cruise.  No one has ever said "Wow, this is so cheap AND comfortable" about one.

A big floating toilet as far as I'm concerned, but this plan to flip DeSantis the finger was admittedly endearing.

  • The book, "Nightmare Scenario," described Trump's faltering response to the pandemic.

One man? I was hoping for something on par with Stephen King's "The Stand".

What was your favorite part?  The slapstick comedy or the "story" which is an all over the place mess?   Oh I know, the muppet!

Edit: The actor that plays Danny actually has a nice swing.

Good villan in an otherwise terrible movie.

I also have a soft spot for Rodney, but scenes like this were never really funny plus age terribly:

He did this skit when I saw him live a few years ago. The whole damn place was roaring.

I've cruised in the past but don't really have much of a desire to do it again. Give me a quiet beach to relax on away from the unwashed masses.

So agree. I enjoyed them 15 to 20 years or so ago. It didn't seem like they "packed them in" the way they do now. The last couple I went on sucked and I started going to resorts instead.

Oh and they suck with kids even more. If someone really wants to do one, leave the kids with Nana.

You couldn't pay me enough to get on a cruise ship. The passengers, the terrible food, the floating bio-hazard...no thanks. My parents LOVE cruises, which makes it even more obvious they are terrible.

Cruises are the illusion of luxury for the poors.

Never been on a cruise. Never plan on it. My parents did a very small one a few years back to the Galapagos that sounded well done but even that doesn't really appeal to me. I don't like people, and tourists are the worst type of people. Being stuck in close proximity to them for a long time sounds like my nightmare.

They sit in their mobility scooter smoking 2 packs a day in the casino only taking a break to stuff their giant maws with buffet food.

Being around other people is already my definition of hell on earth. Being around the type of people who actually enjoy cruises and think they are "luxurious" would drive me to murder and/or suicide.

I’ll only go on a cruise if it’s overpaying for a Disney cruise. and I probably wouldn’t even do that

I went to Aulani, the Disney resort in Oahu, back in 2012 with my best friend and my goddaughters. It was pretty awful, but at least I could leave and wasn't stuck on a ship with those people. The only truly horrible parts were the pool and the Disney Character brunch (which the girls loved). They also got me to take them to Disney Land once, but hopefully never again.

The only way I would do that is for those kids (or my nieces/nephew).

Nope.... Too easy.

I’ll just get this out of the way now
