That Florida number is insane.

Also the 100,000 number is misleading, it is factoring in weekend numbers and florida for multiple days, the CDC numbers are more accurate day by day which is around 70,000 I believe

You stole my negativity :furious:

It's not negativity. Vaccines are still very effective. But they aren't impervious either.

How the coronavirus infects cells — and why Delta is so dangerous

Scientists are unpicking the life cycle of SARS-CoV-2 and how the virus uses tricks to evade detection.

For those who care about the science.

And never will be, everyone needs to accept there will be breakthrough cases, the goal is keeping people out of hospitals

All numbers in Israel are very positive including the effectiveness of Pfizer against delta which the numbers say is very strong dropping only down to 80% or higher which are still very very high numbers.  Singapore numbers also point to zero vaccinated patients getting serious conditions as a result of delta.  So far so good.  We do need more time and data as it is way to early to make any final conclusions.

The early returns basically say one thing, get vaccinated.  If you have an underlying condition putting you at extra risk then take the booster once it is available.

I can understand a local official taking a local decision to protect larger groups of unvaccinated people.  At the national level we should be pushing the vaccine and holding the course for all major policy or recommendations in as much as that is possible.  Use the power of negative economic incentive (ala Vikas' suggestions) as a whip.

Member when idiots were hailing DeSantis as a savant for fully opening up in the spring? I member.

Agreed, but there's also a reason why a new vaccine is already being trialed targeting delta. The mRNA platform is unique in that spinning up new vaccines that directly target a variant is much easier than with previous methods.

So the NFl has about 90% compliance, wonder why, maybe vaccine mandates work, they exit to freedom is right there, please follow the signs  thank you

For the record. 197 House Republicans, especially Chip Roy, are precious snowflakes.

While Forida was looser, Schmoopie and I made 3 trips dow there in 2021.  For us it didnt seem much different than up here, but I am sure there were a lot of "Florida Men" in the everglades that were maskless.

I think its very dependent on the area. Tampa and Miami seemed to take it much more seriously than some of the other places

The trump card that big pharma is playing is everybody will die, what they're doing is reporting the cause of death as COVID-19 and I'm not sure how they come to that conclusion when they don't have a test to determine if someone has COVID-19......anyone who's researched the PCR test knows it's completely bogus.

One of these days you will have to post pics of your lab that you do all your research in.

Agreed. We were in Orlando, Tampa, Ocala and Gainsville for almost a month over those 3 trips. Not exactly rural.

Im sure you can find the same "Florida Behavior" in regards to COVID in central PA. Or near hunts house.

D.C. is not in the area the CDC would consider high risk
