I have a kid actually, so

Science says there is virtually no risk.  You believe science, correct?

Then, to quote you previously "you are a horrible person" and a terrible parent might I add.

Why exactly?

Edit: ah, damn, Mike's got a kid.  So wait, a woman had sex with Mike?  I find that hard to believe.

Youre drunk.  I have a toddler.  I would never try to put a mask on him because of science.

I am drunk.  But I also edited the post.

because you are taking unnecessary risks with your toddler.  the mask won't hurt your toddler, but COVID most certainly could.  poor kid.  doesn't have a chance.

My toddler is at virtually no risk for COVID, same as your child.  Dont take my word for it, look for yourself.

But my son is learning to talk and is developing emotionally, he needs to see faces and learn how to read nonverbal communication.  Nevermind the psychological damage it would do to him to be afraid of breathing air for god's sake.

Also, I cant even imagine the amount of bacteria and filth that my toddler would get on that mask and then breathe in.

And his immune system also needs to develop.  Kids should be playing in the dirt like you and I did when we were kids.

Masking children is against science.  Period.

There are hundreds of kids hospitalized in Texas and Florida alone that might disagree. (Almost 300 between those two states)

Depends on what your kid's doing.  In daycare?  Yeah, mask up for the next couple months until there's a kids vaccine.  Playing in the dirt outside of your trailer while you F your cousin inside?  No mask.

300 out of what, 10 million?

Hes in daycare. He just got RSV 2 weeks ago.  He gets sick every other week.

Masking would do nothing, lets not kid ourselves. Toddlers put things in their mouths, dont wash their hands, share toys, etc.

This is craziness, there is no scientific reason for children to wear mask unless you want to eliminate all risk from their lives, in which case their lives would suck because theyd never leave their house

This is both true and false, the cloth masks are a sideshow, the masks that work would not be comfortable all day for a child or anyone

Yeah, of course there's a scientific reason for kids to wear a mask.  They help stop the transmission of the disease.

Now, with a toddler, I agree, it's a losing battle.  But it certainly isn't going to hurt them to try.  And with my kids, 5 and 10, it works well.  They're good about keeping it on all day.  Is it foolproof?  Of course not.  But it would be crazy not to do what you can to protect them until a vaccine is approved for their age, especially for some weird, unrelated political dogma.

Its not about comfort.  Do you have toddlers wear a mask during flu season?

If not, there is no reason to wear one for COVID.

Good luck

Perfect, thank you.

So from when Obama was elected until when Trump was elected, vtivx saw an increase of ~99%. Meaning just under 50% per term.

From Trump to Biden's election, vtivx saw an increase of ~40%.

From Biden's election until present day, vtivx is up 27%.

Now please explain how your 401k was flat during the terms of growth where your fund's share price increased 50% per term, but exploded during Trump's term when it grew only 40%?

And for bonus points, tell me how much Sleepy Joe is tucking away in your coat pocket in less than a year's time while shooting you with his finger guns and licking his ice cream cone.

Polio cases were like 13 per 100k, and Jonas Salk got the presidential medal of freedom.

I guess you would have been wondering what all the fuss was about then too.

Yea this might make sense, except for the fact we have a pediatric vaccine for the flu, and decades of data on the pathology of disease caused by the flu vs just over a year's worth for a novel pathogen that's already proven to cause systemic damage and can result in long-term systems. But yeah other than that, excellent point, Mike!

One of my wife's good friends has a 4 year old who is basically neurotic from this stuff, its sad.  Thats what I worry about.  I hope your kids understand and "get it"

But aside from all the politics, I am pessimistic about all this.  Im not sure theres much we can do as a society to stop COVID from spreading.  We basically locked down for a long time and it didn't work. I fear that the cure is more painful than the disease.  Life is so short.  That's just my opinion.
