I don't want DeRozan.  Dwight Howard shoots the 3 better.  We need all starters or major contributors minutes wise in the playoffs, to be able to shoot a decent 3 because of Simmons/spacing.

Im just reporting the news. Hes not high on my list.

And I dont think Morey would go for him.

But I wouldnt be mad about getting a 20ppg scorer if they did.

He is a career 28% 3 point shooter with 1.5 3 point attempts per game.  He won't work with Ben and he plays the same style as Tobi so probably can't play him with Tobi either.

idk who they would actually trade for any of these guys.

mattise has been playing great & they really rely on his wing defense.

shake is their only consistent scorer off the bench.

maxey has shown flashes so i doubt they'd want to give him up.

green is exactly the vet presence you want in the playoffs...he's also a winner.

who's left that another team would want?

Your bottom 3 are all expendable to win a ring.

the "Gotta do something!!" mindset is a mistake. its panicky and leads to short-sighted, bad decisions.

Agreed

yeah...if you're getting a game changing talent...sure.

IMO Lowry gives us exactly what Butler gave us. If you retain any of our bench at all in that deal, then you have that starting lineup with Butler, essentially back. And you have a better bench than that year.

In addition there can still be smaller deals made to improve the bench such as using our trade exception. Or a 2nd for Wayne Ellington type deal.

dont know who this is. no blue check.

saw on realgm...

so thats Aaron Gordon to BOS for Smart. Smart goes to Philly, and Seth Curry gone.

Lowry still happening? So you presumably replace Curry and Green with Lowry and Smart.

Shooting not as good. Again.

Defense, insane.

Maybe on offense but on defense?  Not even close.  Look at the size differential.

If that’s the case don’t make the move if that’s where he really wants to be. No offense Miami better hope butler doesn’t hit a decline massively when he gets to 33 otherwise you have two old guys on the decline in Miami. Figures as it’s Florida lol

On defense, yes. very close. Lowry is an excellent post defender on players much bigger than him. Hes so strong. Bigger guys cant back him down.

Come on man.  I know he is a strong dude and takes the charge no matter how big the player but guards with length or speed can get by him much easier than Butler.

I've been reading the celtics boards this year and they aren't thrilled with Smart anymore.

Butler wasnt that great of a perimeter defender here.

At this stage of their careers, Butler is much better than an slower, shorter, 35 year old Lowry on defense.

if you say so.

TJ McConnell coming off the bench with this current Sixers team would have been so helpful.  I know not re-signing him was the right thing to do but he would be perfect for the 2nd unit right now.

I agree with your main point though.  Lowry would make us a lot better and give us a real shot at a title this year.

Same as many of the Phillies moves in 09, 10, and 11. They just needed that one guy...who never put them over the top and it killed them for years. Same situation here if they give up multiple firsts and younger players for a guy that old.

So for the heck of it,

How do we feel about:

PG: Lowry

SG: Smart

SF: Simmons

PF: Harris

😄 Embiid

I dont know why the stupid "C :" when typed without a space in between keeps turning in to that emoji....

You are taking a major risk obviously.  The reward could be a title this year.

That's why I would prefer Brogdon because you have him for 2 more years after this and he is just hitting his prime.

There’s a rumor they are trying to deal smart in a deal to potentially get gordon and Fournier

The computer knows Joel is always trolling.

Would we start Smart or Green?  Guess it doesn't matter.  As I said earlier, the Boston fans who usually love Smart have soured on him.  It would be such a Philly thing if we acquired someone who is really good and tough in the playoffs and then he stinks when he comes to us.

So kyrie is sitting out the Nets 3 game road trip...to tend to "family matters”. His birthday is March 23rd... so high probability that he’s skipping a road trip because he wants to celebrate his birthday. Can you imagine if Simmons did that? Philly fans would DESTROY him

Oh well, that helps us anyway. Hopefully they lose a game or two that he skips to so the Sixers can keep the pace until Jo is back.

I would like Fournier.

If Boston does that, I don't think it moves the needle much for them.  I don't see them getting out of the 2nd round this year.
