There is no somebody like Tobias; not on this roster.  This has to be coach speak.  I assume Doc is not trying to hurt Mike Scott's feelings?  Not for nothing but I don't think it's a coincidence that Mike Scott just had his highest scoring game since Jan 12th.  He knows that Tolliver was brought in for his minutes. 

Now embiid publicly said Simmons needs to make the other team guard him. 

You know what happens any time someone calls out Simmons in public.  He does the opposite to spite them. 

Look forward to weeks more of sucky Simmons.

There was a spot in the game last night where Kork came off a screen and got the ball from Joel.  Kork was pretty open right above the FT line to shoot the ball but passed it out.  You could hear Joel as clear as a whistle say "THAT'S YOUR SHOT!!".  Ala even commented on it.

I couldn't help but wonder if the team did that to Ben would he shoot on instinct or would it backfire and he just pass it out or worse turn the ball over?  Or maybe Sam Cassell should scream it from the bench because Cassell ain't scared of hurting feelings.

I think it's both. He doesn't have drive, but he's also insecure....why he seems to pout and do the opposite when people call him out.

This isn’t just hindsight, I was a Brandon Ingram guy. There were already concerns about Ben’s work ethic going into that draft. 
 

He would be SUCH a better fit for this team right now than Simmons.

It wasn't even work ethic, people questioned his shooting, his ability to be a scorer and his desire to be an elite player or just turn up and get a paycheck. LSU wasn't a great basketball school with a bad roster that he didn't make better.

He went to LSU where his godfather was the coach, he was open about not giving an ish and because of his relationship with the coach there were 0 consequences. 

He came into the NBA where his dad had a relationship with his new HC. His brother is his shooting coach and manager. He has consistently been told how good he is by those around him. He has expected everything to get handed to him and is entitled rather than earning it. When he gets called out he pouts and those guys have generally found themselves out of the team (Butler), if he feels slighted he will put in the work to get the accolades before becoming complacent again.  

Add in the fact he wasn't a great fit next to Embiid. The media kept giving him the LeBron comparisons saying if he learnt to shoot he would be the next LBJ. He is instead Draymond Green. An excellent defender that can facilitate but not be your lead star or even your beta.

All true, I’d say the "desire to be an elite player” falls under the work ethic category.

I was going to respond to his post but then his next post was about how he wanted the 2nd guy instead of Ben. Wanted him so bad he couldn't remember the name I guess. Not really sure there's anything to gain by entertaining this one.

It would explain his mental or lack there of. If you were gay in a hyper masculine environment it would weigh on you. Really good counseling or a good woman may help offset this to a degree. But it would cause inner turmoil that would slowly eat at you. Having success over twisted thoughts would require controlling your environment which he cannot.

They just showed 4 replays of Ben's 8 foot jumper last game.  4 replays!  Now they are going to talk about it after commercial break.  Why the f is it such a big deal that he took 1 f'n shot?  This is where we are with him.
