Told you those **** were just doing this to get our hopes up

i thought they’d lose game 6 i was shocked they won that one. I said before the series i thought the hawks were good and give issues to the sixers because they tend to always do so the past couple years. I think i predicted it’d go 7. But i don’t want to look through all the pages to find if i did

Oh... I really thought after bouncing back in game 6 that they'd finish the job and win game 7. I guess they just don't have the players to do so. Weak mentality.

Yep. "I am who I am” pretty much sums up his whole attitude. Never going to fix his weaknesses because he doesn’t care.

It’s been said for years. Embiid needs to work on his conditioning and Ben needs to work on his shot. I’ve come to the conclusion that Ben just doesn’t give a crap. Shooting a basketball is the most fundamental part of the game. All you need to do is work on your form and practice, practice, practice. I remember Magic Johnson couldn’t shoot a lick when he came into the league but he improved every year and never became a great outside shooter but if you left him open he could hit a shot. Ben can’t even make a foul shot. It’s pathetic.

They aren’t going to be able to trade him for anything that’s really going to help them get to the next level next year.

i feel for morey because i think if he inherited this team 2 years ago he could’ve done some great things with it. Now i think with Harris and Ben’s contracts they are super limited. And even with how great morey is, you only can do so much

I love embiid but his 16 turnovers the last two games is way too many. I get he’s playing with a meniscus injury but some of those turnovers were just unforced and being lazy. Frankly 17 turnovers in general by the sixers is too much.

We'll get a couple days of hot takes now. Bad loss but I think losing this makes a simmons trade much more likely.

They will get cents on the dollar. He may be untradable. His main value is box office at this point. I suppose someone might view him as a project.

If they can’t get anything in return then maybe they should just keep him and help him improve. We don’t need to him drill 3’s but if he could just hit a 15-18’ open jumper. The defense doesn’t even cover him that far out. Also, he’s a career 60% FT Shooter. Can we get him up to 65-70%?

I just wonder about his work ethic. Why isn’t his shooting improving? Did he hit rock bottom from a confident stand point?

The only thing he really has going for him is that he still only 24 years old and he has his athleticism and his defensive prowess. Maybe there some GM out there that believe they can get through to him and make him into the player everyone thought he could be when he was taken first overall. However I don’t think you’re gonna find that. I think you’re gonna wind up stuck with Ben, have to trade Maxey or thybulle to get any value or you’re going to have to take a bad contract back in order to move him.

if we are honest with ourselves the sixers put themselves into a bad position as they handed out ben’s contract and Tobias Harris extension and then threw money at Al Horford when they finally had some cap space to spend. Their past decisions are going to haunt this team and likely keep them from being able to achieve what they want to and likely waste embiid’s career. That feels like the sad reality

He's not going to improve here. He is lazy and doesn't care. Can't lose confidence in something he never even tried to do in the first place

It’s easy to say that maybe they should keep him if that’s the case. but I don’t think you can bring him back. I am not sure he can survive in Philadelphia after that performance in this series. He’s already super low on confidence and you can tell because he didn’t wanna dunk the ball with no one around him. Philadelphia is not the place to be if you have low confidence and you’re trying to build it back up especially when fans know you just don’t care enough to improve on your craft.

it was a little different with fultz Because he was still a young kid and He wanted to improve on his game he just had a mental block. Ben Simmons has a mental block and doesn’t care enough to improve on something he needs to. In his press conference tonight where he said what he did is absolutely the dumbest thing he could’ve said. That quote that he gave shows you an insight that he just doesn’t get it.

Agreed. He's done in Philly. I'm not sure he's going to be a top top player in the NBA full stop but he's definitely not going to be in Philly. The fans are done with him and I think some of his team mates are too.

Well I didn't watch (because I forgot, I'm a novice remember) but it sucked to see that they lost. I was kinda hoping (and it seemed like it lined up decently) that they might win another title. I guess in order to win it though you have to really want to.

You also need a PG that can do more in a half court set than the other teams center.

As bad as Ben played the whole series, basically playoffs, Joel came up small when we needed him most.  He is part of the soft problem.  We need an alpha.  Soft meter as follows:

1.  Ben

2.  Tobi

3.  Joel

  You’re out of your mind.

Just brutal. Especially if you slow it down and watch it frame by frame. Should have been the easiest deuce of the game. Ben is/was clearly mentally challenged this series. FT shooting got into his head and it ruined any other offensive facet of his game. This clip is case in point.

This is a team of losers, plain and simple. I'm done getting excited about them it's too agonizing watching the same playoff exit every year. Ben sucks. Also how many layups did Harris miss tonight. When that second unit was in with Tobias leading the charge in the 2nd quarter the offense is supposed to go through him as the "star". Instead he stunk and barely did anything causing us to have to run the offense through a rookie in Maxey and 85 year old Dwight Howard. The problem with this team is the only starters that would even be on a championship team are Joel and Seth.

Well, at this point....Philly has zero chance of a championship anytime soon.  The Sixers, NOPE!  The Eagles, NOT A CHANCE!  The Flyers, NEVER!  And the Phillies...DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!!  We have literally 4 to 5 years of dreck coming.  Might have to go join the Pinterest Message Board!!

he's not untradeable...but they'll most likely have to take back someone else's problem....like a wiggins or even kevin love.

at this point, best case scenario might be portland...2nd to last in team defensive rating...only the kings were worse. maybe they'll see ben as a defensive savior & part with mccollum since they've been getting nowhere in the playoffs & pretty much wasting dame's prime years.

Some team in a small market with a 'star' that wants out will go after Simmons. He has name value as a former ROY, number 1 pick and the All-Defensive first team candidate.

GM's and coaches all like to think they're the smartest guys in the room so they may also find someone that thinks they can fix his shooting woes. Hell, Kwame Brown made 63 million dollars based off potential.

Being a max contract it may be tougher for teams to take on but the Magic, Pistons, Wolves of the world wouldn't blink. It's just a matter of what you can get back.

Ben would be ok on a team in the Draymond roll that goes small ball.  Blazers may be interested in him.  He's pretty much unplayable on this team with Embiid.  He can't play next to a ball dominant center.  Especially in the playoffs.

If they had a guard that could allow Ben in a lot of PnR with him rolling to the hoop, but don't have that besides Maxey.

In 2016, Simmons admitted he’s a natural righty but his dad raised him to shoot with his left hand. "I think I was supposed to be right-handed. It’s all natural now,” he said at the time. Is it? People in his life have encouraged him to make the switch. Former Sixers shooting coach John Townsend worked with Simmons on attempting right-handed free throws and jump shots, but Simmons didn’t stick with it. Former teammate J.J. Redick recently said on his podcast that he told Simmons (and DeAndre Jordan) they should make the switch to their right hand.

"I’ve seen them shoot right-handed. It’s better form right-handed,” Redick said. "They do everything else right-handed, I don’t understand why you’re shooting a basketball left-handed.” Redick is correct. Simmons released the ball using his right hand on 67 shots this postseason, compared to just nine shots with his left hand. That rate is consistent with his career rate of using his right hand going back to his time at LSU.
