sure. prefer Sexton but would take that.

Tbh i really like garland. Averaged 17 and 6 this year and shot 39.5% from three. That said i much rather have Cleveland’s 2022 first because i think simmons in Cleveland would be a disaster and they’d be bad.

yeah they would. Only reason they won any games is the dynamic back court of Sexton/Garland. Take one of them away and replace it with no offense Ben, they tank hard.

I also think simmons would just completely check out of Cleveland and not want to be there.

It's like the rick ankiel thing.  Totally mental at this point when you simply can't do what you've always done for no apparent reason.

One #1 overall pick who forgot how to play basketball (or has anxiety, or a shoulder problem, or…) and another #1 overall pick played basketball his whole life, yet refuses to shoot a basketball. This is nearly impossible.

LeBron and Klutch will make sure he goes the Cavs as a favor, but ask to be traded if doesn't go well in 2 years

Not in Philly. Wentz becomes bad at QB. Kingery and hoskins lose the ability to hit for like a couple seasons. Carter hart has a bad year after a terrific year. In Philly it’s more the norm

I’d be shocked if it was in 2 years. I’d think in a year tbh

That’s the whole point. The question isn’t if he can be traded, anyone can be traded the thing is you will get nothing but a bad contract and maybe a worthless draft pick.

It will be better than we all think. Teams will still have perceived value and the bad ones will be taken advantage of by Morey

yep. All the emotional attachment (which in this case is negative emotion) is coming from us and our side. A stuck in the mud loser team like Chicago, Sacramento, Cleveland would love to bring him in on the cheap, in the chance that he ever improves. And that alone starts the bidding war. Maybe someone like Pop does his DD too and thinks its worth a shot.

There will definitely be takers. And from Morey's perspective he's not going to want to just give him away. I would half expect him to be back next year, honestly. After an offseason of saying the right things and vowing to implement the J more. The arrogant standoff-ish "how dare you ask me about the shooting thing" attitude should thaw out significantly going forward. There's no basis or leg to stand on anymore from him and his camp and the Benablers fans.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a rehabbed Ben back for the start of the season and then have him traded early on next season. Morey will not and should not take pennies on the dollar. Now, if another team is offering up decent value, that’s another story.

Interesting Trade Scenario's.

If there is one person to blame for the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks, it’s Ben Simmons. The supposed final piece of "The Process," Simmons has become more of a liability than help for the 76ers. Simmons and Joel Embiid were supposed to lead the 76ers to the promised land.

Simmons has some positive aspects of his game, such as his playmaking ability and defense, but his weaknesses are too prominent. He can't shoot and it's arguable he's afraid to shoot. He shot the ball only four times in a game seven elimination game, including zero times in the fourth quarter.

Simmons can't shoot 30% from the three-point line. He shot 34.2% from the line, the worst free throw percentage in a playoff run in NBA history (minimum 70 attempts). For comparison, Shaquille O’Neal, widely considered the worst free throw shooter of all time, made the playoffs 17 times and was never below 40% from the line.

It may be time for the 76ers to trade Ben Simmons because if they don’t, they may never claim an NBA title. Here are three Simmons trades the 76ers could make this offseason. Trade Machine via ESPN

Philadelphia 76ers Get: CJ McCollum
Portland Trailblazers Get: Ben Simmons

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.34.53_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • They get a floor spacer who can account for 20+ points a game.

  • McCollum is a versatile guard that should play well off of Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris.

  • They get rid of Simmons.

Why Portland Does This Trade:

  • Simmons takes some of the playmaking duties off of Damian Lillard.

  • Simmons pairs well with Robert Covington and should help a lackluster Portland defense.

  • The Trailblazers show it is dedicated to winning to make Damian Lillard happy.

Philadelphia 76ers Get: Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre Jr. And A 2022 Second Round Pick
Golden State Warriors Get: Ben Simmons And Danny Green

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.36.03_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • Wiggins and Oubre both help space the floor.

  • Wiggins and Oubre help provide depth for Philly.

Why Golden State Does This Trade:

  • Simmons can stay inside the paint as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson hang behind the three-point line.

  • Simmons helps Golden State get some size and form a strong frontcourt with second overall pick in the 2020 draft, James Wiseman.

  • Simmons can take some of the playmaking duties off of Curry and allow him to do what he does best: score.

Philadelphia 76ers Get: Bradley Beal And Davis Bertans
Washington Wizards Get: Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, 2021 And 2022 First Round Picks

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.36.50_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • Bradley Beal is a certified superstar and will complete a Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal and Tobias Harris for Philly.

  • Bertans gives the 76ers depth and a shooter off the bench.

Why Washington Does This Trade:

  • The Wizards don’t risk Bradley Beal leaving for free agency after next season.

  • Washington frees up frontcourt space for Rui Hachimura and Deni Avdija by trading away a bad contract in Davis Bertans.

  • Washington gets a nice, young shooting guard in Tyrese Maxey who showed flashes this past season.

He should be talking with a sports psychologist for his own mental health this week. Hopefully that happens as well. Dude is broken.

Also don't have to worry about him getting the supermax because no one will vote him DPOY or All Pro again.

I can't take this article seriously if he doesn't know Oubre is an unrestricted FA.

Yeah, Mike Missinelli was whining all day yesterday about that. I agree he needs a sports psychologist. But Mike was totally against Simmons staying. He claims that Ben has had the same issues for 5 years and had 5 years to develop a foul shot and mid range shooting game but he hasn't. He has no confidence that he will/can do it now. He's tired of it and needs to be traded.

While I agree he should be traded, I'm not going to trade him for peanuts. If Morey doesn't get back top value then Ben stays. It's clear the Coach believes that he can improve Ben's game this offseason. If he does, then during the Season his trade value will go up, if he can start hitting foul shots at around, 80%.

A trip to the Shot Doctor, Coach Magee's Shooting school, should be mandatory. Herb said publicly on video, he would be willing to help Ben. He also pointed out how Ben's elbows are out and he holds the ball wrong. It's a relatively easy fix and it appears that Ben is more willing now than ever.

As a non Sixer fan who follows the NBA, I 100% agree with everything Mikey Miss said yesterday.

I actually think he'd be the token guy that puts up big numbers on a bad team. He could get all these triple doubles and talk about how everyone was wrong about him, and he'd never have to play in the playoffs.

it's way too late for shot doctors and sports psychologists, imo. as far as philly is concerned anyway. let another team deal with that nonsense. ben needs to go now & never play another game in a sixers' uniform.

definitely keep saying the right things...offseason skills workouts & whatever. it's all bullsheet....but  you can't come out & say that simmons is broken & will never learn to shoot while you're trying to negotiate trades. say the right things publicly...and work behind the scenes to ship his azzz out of philly.

Yeah, Mike also pointed out that Ben also had this entire season to develop his foul shot. He pointed out that it wasn't realistic to believe that the Sixers hadn't been working with Ben's shot during this season. So, what Doc says about being Confident Ben can improve his foul shooting and by extension become a better, if it hasn't been done by now then it won't be and it should be another teams problem to help him get better with a Fresh Start. I can't disagree with this as well.

Look forward to what Morey has to say about this, today.

Not only that but both trades besides the CJ for Ben are ridiculous.  Washington implementing an offense with Ben and Westbrook...basically will equate to a zone surrounding the paint.  Wiggins is trash.  No interest.  Not even for Ben.

yeah, some of the made up ben trade scenarios being thrown out there by internet nba "analysts" are pretty bad. none of us really know his value around the league. it will either be ben for a guy who might not be as talented but is a better fit...mccollum comes to mind. or it will be morey going all in & including 1 or 2 of maxey/shake/thybulle along with ben for a legit stah.

i'd expect morey to try the stah route...and fail....and have to settle for a less talented/better fit guy.

This is definitely all reactionary and in a few weeks or months when he gets traded his value will be higher than people expected.

But we KNEW for years that Ben snd Embiid just don't work on the court together. It was always one or the other. Go trade Ben to a team like Orlando or somewhere where it is his team and they can play him as a super Draymond.

Doc also never put Ben in a position to succeed this year. The whole Howard at the 5, when it should have been Ben with shooters should have happened or run more PnR with Harris or Curry where Ben crashes to the hoop and forces teams to collapse. Really thought Doc didn't do a good job coaching or making any adjustments, which is so on point with Doc.
