i think the doc hire was them wanting an experienced, highly respected coach & former star player who might be able to get through to ben & jojo. brett was too much of a lightweight & didn't hold players accountable.

well, we all watched the experiment of ben with an established coach....he kind of got worse.  morey now has to realize that ben/biid doesn't work.

so when can trades happen?  i mean, boston already traded kemba...which i thought was odd considering we're in the middle of the playoffs. i guess trades can happen any time?

Doc seemed to get through to Jojo.  Ben...I don't think a bullet could get through to him.  I can't imagine hitting much more of rock bottom in your career than this, but the entitled MFer has a max contract to fall back on.  My guess is he doesn't improve.  He's more interested in the lifestyle than the actual game.  You're already built like a brick shithouse, stop posting pics yourself lifting and start hitting the court and working on actual bball skills.

Wanted Kenny Atkinson and stand by it. He bought a culture to the Nets when DLo was best player and played a competitive series against the Sixers few years back.

If there is one person to blame for the Philadelphia 76ers’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks, it’s Ben Simmons. The supposed final piece of "The Process," Simmons has become more of a liability than help for the 76ers. Simmons and Joel Embiid were supposed to lead the 76ers to the promised land.

Simmons has some positive aspects of his game, such as his playmaking ability and defense, but his weaknesses are too prominent. He can't shoot and it's arguable he's afraid to shoot. He shot the ball only four times in a game seven elimination game, including zero times in the fourth quarter.

Simmons can't shoot 30% from the three-point line. He shot 34.2% from the line, the worst free throw percentage in a playoff run in NBA history (minimum 70 attempts). For comparison, Shaquille O’Neal, widely considered the worst free throw shooter of all time, made the playoffs 17 times and was never below 40% from the line.

It may be time for the 76ers to trade Ben Simmons because if they don’t, they may never claim an NBA title. Here are three Simmons trades the 76ers could make this offseason. Trade Machine via ESPN

Philadelphia 76ers Get: CJ McCollum
Portland Trailblazers Get: Ben Simmons

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.34.53_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • They get a floor spacer who can account for 20+ points a game.

  • McCollum is a versatile guard that should play well off of Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris.

  • They get rid of Simmons.

Why Portland Does This Trade:

  • Simmons takes some of the playmaking duties off of Damian Lillard.

  • Simmons pairs well with Robert Covington and should help a lackluster Portland defense.

  • The Trailblazers show it is dedicated to winning to make Damian Lillard happy.

Philadelphia 76ers Get: Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre Jr. And A 2022 Second Round Pick
Golden State Warriors Get: Ben Simmons And Danny Green

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.36.03_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • Wiggins and Oubre both help space the floor.

  • Wiggins and Oubre help provide depth for Philly.

Why Golden State Does This Trade:

  • Simmons can stay inside the paint as Steph Curry and Klay Thompson hang behind the three-point line.

  • Simmons helps Golden State get some size and form a strong frontcourt with second overall pick in the 2020 draft, James Wiseman.

  • Simmons can take some of the playmaking duties off of Curry and allow him to do what he does best: score.

Philadelphia 76ers Get: Bradley Beal And Davis Bertans
Washington Wizards Get: Ben Simmons, Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, 2021 And 2022 First Round Picks

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.36.50_pm.png

screenshot_2021-06-21_2.36.50_pm.png

Why Philadelphia Does This Trade:

  • Bradley Beal is a certified superstar and will complete a Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Bradley Beal and Tobias Harris for Philly.

  • Bertans gives the 76ers depth and a shooter off the bench.

Why Washington Does This Trade:

  • The Wizards don’t risk Bradley Beal leaving for free agency after next season.

  • Washington frees up frontcourt space for Rui Hachimura and Deni Avdija by trading away a bad contract in Davis Bertans.

  • Washington gets a nice, young shooting guard in Tyrese Maxey who showed flashes this past season.

This makes some of the joke trades I put up here look decent. I should be hired by espn now!!!

If this national embarrassment doesn't then he is a lost cause. That non attempted dunk will be remembered for decades

Atkinson was my choice too. Need a coach who gets the best out of players. Not players making a coach look good.

Not sexy at all but Barnes hasn't shot below 38% from 3 in last 5 years, Bagley needs to be somewhere else and first big off the bench would be an improvement, Heidl shoot 39% two years in a row on 10 attempts so can really shoot it. Barnes is also an expiring in 2022.

reminds me too much of the barkley trade.

Garland reminds me of Mike Conley but already more advanced, shot 39% from 3 on 5 attempts, 2/1 assist to turnover ratio, Nance and Osman are great bench guys or fill in starters. Also, if Cavs get 5th or 6th pick I would ask for a swap as well

I also think simmons would just completely check out of Cleveland and not want to be there.

Absolutely.  Ben in Cleveland would be like Detroit Blake.  Just miserable.  No dunks, medium effort.  It would be ugly.

I actually think he'd be the token guy that puts up big numbers on a bad team. He could get all these triple doubles and talk about how everyone was wrong about him, and he'd never have to play in the playoffs.

I think it’s more the city of Cleveland. Ben likes Philly cause at least it’s big enough and it’s closer to LA then Cleveland is. I think there’s a chance he mentally just completely check out being there.

bobby marks talked about a point close to what you said that some of this likely falls upon the fact when he began playing with the sixers they were already really good and a playoff team. So maybe some of this i am not going to shoot is because he didn’t want to mess things up for the teams knowing his shooting could cost them and catering more to relying on embiid on the offensive end of the floor. The only flaw in this argument is Ben has to recognize that his non shooting is now costing the sixers playoff games. Then again mentally he might have locked himself into this mentality and he can’t get himself out of it.

Please stop posting these trade scenarios. Having to see 30+ million next to Simmons is making me physically ill.

if he had his choice, i'm sure ben would want to join his buddy lebron in LA.

they really don't have anything to trade though.

Why would NY ever do that?

I do really like garland’s game. Made really good strides this year. I don’t think he’ll ever be a star but i do think he can become a 19 points and 7.5 assists type of guy. Plus i think he can become a quality defender at this level.

I also like garland more than sexton because i don’t have to make a long term extension decision until a year from now and i think he still has more upside. I think sexton is hitting his ceiling. So i have the advantage of seeing how he does for a year in the offense and then potentially dealing him in another trade. With sexton you are gonna have to make a decision by the trade deadline this year. I’d definitely ask for Cleveland’s first this or next year. I’d probably take the 2022 cause i don’t think they are going to be good and it’s supposedly a better draft class. Plus i could use it in the following offseason potentially with garland to get another star.

I love it with the 5th pick.  I love the idea of sending him to Cleveland.

Ben for Lebron

Well he is bailing on  the Olympics to work on his game.

I'm not sure if he means Warzone or messaging models on Instagram?

They have kuzma but you’ll be as frustrated with him for stretches of the season as we are with Ben. Their potential package is really not good. Plus never deal with the Lakers usually always come up on the losing side of the trade. Similar to making deals with Jerry west

possibly losing Rose for nothing. Randle for Ben is pretty equal. Gives them Ben to dish to Barrett along with Vet and youth guard play off the bench. Don’t know if they can extend Randle. Add in a draft pick this year and it’s pretty even. Also cause it’s the knicks and they’re morons.

yeah, it would have to be some multi-team deal.  i don't think we're at the ben demanding a trade to LA stage yet though.

We need another "superstar" to challenge Joel for team leadership.  One with a refuse to lose attitude, because Embiid just doesn't have that.
