He was on a team called Ignite, which is basically a handful of high school kids and older vets like Jarrett Jack and Amir Johnson. The are not affiliated with any team.

So any NBA team is eligible to sign him whenever?

i've seen a few articles suggesting tobi for mccollum...of course, it's all made up bullcrap like all the other trade ideas we're seeing...but i'd say their talent level is similar in that they're both good but not quite all stars.

they're looking to move on from cj & this opens up the sg spot for norm powell, who they just traded for. also helps philly since cj can create & is a better outside shooter. could be a move that helps both teams.

then you still look to move ben, of course.

I’d take McCollum over Harris. I think McCollum is a better shot creator than Harris. He also gives you better outside shooting and can play some point if need be. I dont know if that brings you a championship and you’d also have to find a stretch four replacement. So maybe instead of trading Simmons for a guard you’d be looking for a a stretch four or wing. Could start Maxey at PG, McCollum at SG, thybulle at SF and then look to deal Simmons for possibly someone like siakam who apparently has been a pain in the ass to nick nurse since winning that title.

harris for mccollum.  then simmons for love & pick #3?  siakam would be great too...he'd cost a heck of a lot more though & just had shoulder surgery.

and yeah...they'd still need to figure out pg...and a wing starter.

They have the horford trade exception to try and accomplish one of those areas of needs. My guess is probably a wing with that. Point guard i think you are likely going with Maxey cause not sure if you got siakam and McCollum you could get a PG at the price of horford trade exception or MLE that’s better than Maxey.

i rather take siakam who’s younger over love. I think love is just done at this point being anything more than a rotational player. The 3 overall is nice but you still have to develop and likely wait on that player to get to be where you need him too. I don’t think siakam is as bad as his numbers this year were from 3. I think he’s similar to Middleton being the no. 2 option for the bucks and embiid is your no. 1. McCollum would be your 3rd option with potentially switching with siakam depending on the night.

Nope. It is like coming out of Europe basically, still need to be drafted by a team. He has to play a year removed from high school to be drafted, this is a different route and get paid.

oh, i would 1000% rather have siakam than love...it's not close. i just don't think they could get him. maybe i'm wrong. i really don't know what toronto is trying to do right now.

I think Love is at a place where he doesn't give a crap ala Blake and will surprise people if he has a chance to play for a contender again.

There’s been some rumors that the raptors are willing to trade him due to friction in the locker room. However not sure if it would be for Simmons.

Has Siakam developed anything besides his spin move. He was also the one player that looked worse when they got to the bubble, like he didn't work on his game.

Possible but I’m not willing to trade Simmons for Kevin love to find out even if i get the 3rd overall pick. Garland is included I’d do it or if he was bought out I’m all for it.

i really don’t think he gets along with nick nurse. There were multiple issues that happened this year between him and nurse. That said I’d still take his 21-7-4.5 he put up this year. His 3 point % dropped from the previous two years being 36% to 30%. I think that might also have to do with the raptors basically not having a home and dealing with that and the issues with nurse.

to get garland, i'm guessing they'd have to include someone like maxey in the deal...or at the very least 1 of shake or matisse.

Eh i think Kevin love has a bad contract. He’s going to be 33 and making 31.2 mil. He can’t stay healthy either. So it’s not just performance  drop but you are taking back a guy who’s played 22, 56 and 25 games the last 3 years. The cavs if they don’t trade him are going to have to buy him out or wait a year til he’s an expiring contract. Like Simmons has his issues but Kevin love has the trifecta going on of age, decrease in performance and health.

that said I’d deal Maxey only cause i think garland has a higher ceiling than maxey.

love is absolutely a bad contract. so are ben & tobi, unfortunately.   if they could flip ben/tobi/maxey for mccollum/garland/love, i think it would be something they'd have to consider.

I think Kevin love’s situation is much much worse as he can’t even stay on the court and is 33. Ben Simmons is not a good contract but you are still getting a 24 year old player. who defensively is one of the best players in the league and theoretically if you are trading for him believe you are potentially unlocking (not likely) his offensive game with your coaching staff. Kevin love you are risking he is just done and can’t stay healthy. The cavs were debating buying him out this season when he still had 3 years left on the contract cause no one wanted to touch that contract. Frankly i think the cavs are going to have to buy him out like Griffin cause teams aren’t going to give them anything and have to find a way to match that contract.  With Simmons i think some team will want him. I don’t think any team wants love at that contract until it’s an expiring contract or a rebuilding team that would get picks taking him on which seems like it would go against what the cavs are doing

alright...love is out.

simmons & tisse for lavine & thad young

I’d probably do it but the defense is taking a significant hit. Are we still dealing harris in this hypothetical cause your starting lineup would be maxey, McCollum, Lavine, young and embiid with curry off the bench.

idk, man. i'm just making sheet up!

if you get lavine, i think you could keep harris....or trade him for a more defensive oriented 3 & d guy.

I’d probably deal him for a more 3 and D guy simply cause we’d need to losing Simmons and thybulle.

im fascinated by what happens with morey on the trade market. That’s really where he’s been at his best in his career. I’m hoping previous regimes didn’t hurt his ability too much with throwing away assets

the chicago deal would work substituting a guy like isiah joe instead of tisse...i was just trying to be realistic & figured chi would want more.

tobi & ben for siakam and a sign/traded lowry!

Kawhi couldn't shoot for crap when he got drafted and Spurs shooting coach turned that all around

The Spurs would probably be the best place for him. I’d also imagine they’d have Duncan help with some post moves on top of it. That said i think kawhi wanted to advance his game and become great. Not so sure Simmons you ever get that mentality with him.

PHILADELPHIA—Claiming the Australian-born player as one of their own after a five-point performance in an elimination game Sunday, Sixers fans praised Ben Simmons for embodying the Philadelphia spirit of half-assing his job. "Failing to live up to your potential is what makes us Philadelphians,” said Tony O’Connor, 34, who called Simmons "a Sixer for life” and credited him for being completely afraid to take a chance on himself. "Whether you’re from North or South Philly, you can relate to a guy like Ben, who gets a little worse at his job every year. He’s a blue-collar guy who went into his family business out of begrudging obligation. What’s more Philly than that?” At press time, fans called Sixers center Joel Embiid a "true Philadelphian” for always showing up to work out of shape.

We have also seen in the playoffs that mid range is still KING. DeRozen is a mid range God and if they want to win now, he and Murray might be the best tandem they can get for Ben and pieces
