I really don’t give a crap if you do. I just find it funny that you believe you know more than coaches who have known him since 13-14 years old and still have a relationship with him. And I’d say many of the things coaches have Told me and I’ve said in this thread in the past have been pretty accurate.

Best player? Zags just had two kids drafted in the lottery and Timme is a better college player than him. I will make an educated guess that they told him his minutes were gonna decrease and he bolted for money/playing time. 

This isn't the Zags of 15 years ago making Cinderella runs, Few has this team acting like a blue blood. 

This was written before the season so suggs wasn't a known quantity.  And yes they had backup options.  But he was their best player.  You guys can have your own opinion but what does this say? Not me saying it.  It's national media.

Gonzaga's best player has left the program for good.  A source confirmed Monday to CBS Sports that big man Filip Petrusev will not return. Petrusev is instead opting to chase a professional career and has signed with Serbian program Mega Bemax

You do realize when the pandemic hit their coaching staff knew it was down to him coming back or leaving to go overseas (heck he left his name in the draft so they knew there was a chance he was leaving). The potential we don’t know how the ncaa season was going to go and what it would look like in June due to the pandemic at that time also played into this. He made the decision in June and met with them the next day to tell them the decision after a foreign reporter broke he wasn’t coming back the day before. Which somehow morphed into they had no clue that he was possibly going to leave.This wasn’t they had absolutely no contact with him during the process and didn’t tell him his minutes would be changing cause they got ballo off a redshirt season (high recruit 78th in his class) and timme and Walton would see increased mins as sophomores. They knew he was somewhat upset his minutes were likely going to decrease due to the depth they had on the 20-21 team along with the pandemic wreaking havoc on their schedule, practice schedule and ability to work with the players. They didn’t find out about his decision until after it broke by a foreign reporter and then cause of that he tweeted about it but it isn’t they had no clue whatsoever he was thinking about leaving the program. 

from him, they found out his ultimate decision via Twitter but it wasn’t like they didn’t have any clue that he was thinking or seriously considering leaving Gonzaga for months. You act like he didn’t inform Gonzaga he was thinking about leaving to go overseas and they were in the dark the entire time he was going through this process. The only time they didn’t know was the announcement of the decision because he was going to meet with the coaches prior to announcing but news broke before he got to that meeting. when the season stopped in March he and coaches met (kind of like exit interviews in the nfl). He informed them there was a chance he was going back overseas and they informed him of what his role/mins would be if he returned for 20-21 and how there was a ton of uncertainty with the ncaa scheduling/practicing would go. 

I just appreciate everything they've done for me. They understand that it wasn’t my fault that they had to find out the way they did on Twitter because the news leaked out. There was nothing I could do about that. I was supposed to tell him before I announced it, but unfortunately, the news leaked out. But it’s all love at the end of the day. No hard feelings, and I appreciate them for everything they’ve done for me."

Also suggs signed with Gonzaga in January 2020 and was projected lottery pick by most for the 2021 draft. His recruiting ranking was 11th by 24/7, 6th by espn and 11th by rivals in his recruiting class. So yeah even at the time he signed with Gonzaga he was considered the highest prospect on that team and their highest rated recruit they had ever gotten to go to Gonzaga.

Also corey kispert also was a better all around player, prospect heading into 2020-2021 season. Many thought he would be a first round pick and wound up going 15th overall. 

I also didn’t mention killian tille who at that time was considered the better overall player between petrusev and tille. As petrusev hadn’t yet developed his 3 point shooting as he shot 18%. whereas tille shot 43.5% his last 3 years at Gonzaga. And 40% on 3.8 attempts his senior year. Petrusev was a better interior scorer and rebounder then tille. Meanwhile tille better passer, defender, shooter. 

petrusev was their best post scoring option. He was not their best overall player nor prospect.

I’m sure cbs already knows as they own 24/7 had suggs 11th overall player in his recruiting class when signing with Gonzaga and 4th player overall in their mock draft back in September. As well as kispert being a preseason AP all American. I’m sure they know

so cause Matt norlander of cbs wrote that means he speaks for everyone at 24/7 and cbs? Funny cause the guys i know who work at 24/7 (one is now a main scout for the timberwolves) and Gonzaga 24/7 who are insiders with the program all thought kispert was the most important player on that 2020 team and was the better overall player/prospect at the end of the 2020 season. Hence why he managed to become a first round pick and top 15 at that. Heck mark few had the most trust with him and gave him the most mins on that 2019-20 team. Meanwhile petrusev managed to climb to 50 even though he established a 3 point shot which was what he missing. 

I’m not saying petrusev wasn’t one of their top players. Kispert, petrusev and tille (who’s in the nba at the moment) were their best 3 that year. You want to say petrusev was a better player than tille. there’s an argument to be made. However tille also dealing with a knee issue that entire year which hurt his draft status. 

What a weird hill to die on. A dude that doesn't have the foot speed to be nothing more than a 3rd or maybe 2nd option 5 man. Between him and Pelle you sure love crap back up bigs.

Your post has nothing to do with the discussion.  Which is,  that petrusev wants to come to the NBA right away. Which is a fact that's being refuted for some reason.

No wonder the Sixers want to give him a 2 way deal.

Idk if the sixers ever wanted to give him a 2-way contract (likely not as they saw him as a stash option as he’d oppose a 2-way or g league contract). They were pretty quick to just give it to a UDFA in henry and tucker. Probably cause they didn’t think he was ready to play in the nba even on a two way contract where he’d almost never play in a nba game unless covid or injury reasons

my point was more if the sixers even offered him either a g league or 2-way contract he wasn’t going take either of those contracts right now. Was told by former Gonzaga coaches (now work at Arizona) who recruited (still in touch with him) he was never going come this year. unless he got a guaranteed nba roster spot (meaning also a guaranteed nba contract) cause of how he good played and developed overseas in the Serbian pro league (as well as money after his mvp season over there played into it and starting in Serbian pro league (close to his home) vs. crap g league). was never gonna happen if those two options were presented.

Yes he wants to be in the nba immediately. By that he means he has a nba contract and guaranteed bench spot on a nba roster. that doesn’t mean he wanted to be a g league player or two way contract where he was basically just going to be stashed in the g league cause the sixers didn’t think he was ready. Maybe next year he changes his mind but i know from what i was told he wasn’t coming this year for a g league or 2-way contract even if offered.
