grant stinks but he’s probably the best they'll get.

I would assume the young player is Hayes since we could use a PG. Although he's probably not better than Maxey at this point,  at least we would have a PG on the roster.  And he had potential.

Grant can Kick Green to the bench, which would be nice.

I was very disappointed by this.

It was so obviously dumb

That detroit trade isnt good enough sorry

You’re 2 weeks away from Dec 1.  Leave that stinky trade to rot and pray a desperate team in contention offers a better deal.

Jerami Grant is on a solid contract. You can get almost Harris Level production (though less efficient), for 20 million this year and 21 million next year.

Maybe, it is a step towards a Harris trade if they can do Harris for McCollum....

Also, Hayes is an ok prospect. But hes just not very good yet. He has ability to create for himself, but his assist numbers arent good, hes not a good shooter yet, and his PER is probably below replacement level. I dont mind him as a throw in, but the trade can be way better if they can snag Bey to kick Green to the bench, and if Grant can lead to flipping Harris for McCollum.

McCollum

Maxey

Bey

Grant

Embiid

Bench- Kork, Curry, Green, Niang, Drummond (thats insane shooting surrounding an excellent rebounding and passing center)

             Thybulle, Shake...

Thats not bad at all. Starting lineup includes 3 guys who can go for 20-30 with ease, in addition to Embiid. And Bey is a young, improving player who is already an ok starter. Reminds me a bit of a Thad Young type guy.

At this point, Id agree its worth waiting for that key date.

The pistons trade is acceptable to me, but feels about as poorly as we can possibly do.

The good news is Grant is only signed through 1 more year. You can choose to either keep him and use Harris for another move. Or to move on and clear 21 million of salary off the books.

After seeing Bassey last night,  is there ever a reason to play Paul Reed ever again?

I'd flip him for a wing prospect right now.  Or release and sign Tyrell Terry.

Grant is one of those players that the fans don't like but I bet NBA like him.

His playoff run with the Nuggets was just lights out especially his defense and these last 18 months with the Pistons has allowed him to expand his game tremendously.

Reminds of me DeRozen with the Spurs where he was quietly working on his game, fans thought Bulls getting Raptors DeRozen, and now we see what he is doing with the Bulls.

Grant last year had a stretch where he put up insane numbers. He is one of those borderline All-Star guys but not sure he is consistent enough against good teams and playing for a crappy Pistons team he isn't going to get his props for the good performances he does have.

The irony is that he was a Sixer at one point. If there is a pick coming back from Detroit that could be the most valuable asset. Simmons won't make them a much better team than Grant currently does so if it's lightly protected it could turn into a decent prospect.

The pick protections definitely would be the biggest factor in that trade...

Unprotected?  You're looking at a potential #1....

Just skimming through the pistons roster... this mustache on Frank Jackson 😆! Aint no way I would guess he is 23 if I didn't know better

Frank would have been better staying in college longer

Sixers have a 4th/5th guard already in Shake.

Yeah Grant and a Top 3 pick,  abs a young player is very acceptable.

Grant as the headline name is a little underwhelming.  But it's not bad at all.

I disagree. I think Grant would be a great fit. Add in a high draft pick? Do it now. Ben is NOT playing for the Sixers again and they’re unlikely to see his value go higher than this the longer he sits.

I’d love it if they could get Sadiq Bey included in a Simmons for Grant deal.  Also:

Great fantasy pick up

I would not want to change Maxey's position or send him back to the bench. He's the point guard of the present and future as far as I'm concerned. The best way to improve the starting lineup is to move Green to the bench. You guys can pick apart this list, but I'm not sure we are getting any of the guys ranked above Grant for Simmons (other than maybe Hayward who is only one slot above Grant and always hurt)...

What an odd list. Luka is a 3 as is DeRozen?

DeRozen on this team would be a flat out title contender and people just slept on him because he played for the irrelevant Spurs for two years.

Yeah the Luka thing is weird. I would obviously trade Simmons for DeRozen in a heartbeat but no way the Bulls do that.

Yeah… wonder how long he needs to keep shooting like he is before the "if he could only develop a consistent shot…” talk stops. Kid is shooting 43.4% from 3 on the season. I want to see him start taking them even more often.

He came in not being known as a good shooter, and here we are in year two and he’s WELL above league average. Small sample size, sure, but I see nothing in his jumper that indicates to me that he’s going to drop off significantly. He won’t stay at 43%, but high 30s seems likely at least.

Funny how actually putting in work and being willing to shoot makes a difference… Shame Simmons never had that desire.
