They need a killer on the perimeter.. It’s been the missing piece since Butler left. They could have had one in Russell. This is just getting ridiculous at this point. Sitting on Simmons seems like "the process lite”.

Morey isnt getting enough heat for this. He is costing a lot of wins, and is apparently willing to do it for 2 years. Everyone is quiet.

I think it's more like when the league forced Harris to fire Hinkie and bring in Colangelo.

The League/Owners are obviously encouraging the Sixers to hold the line in this

imo, theres no reason to take it any further. Theyve won. They didnt trade him when he requested. He held out. They didnt cave. They fined him. He tried showing up and being a D. They sent him home and fined him anyway. He played the mental health card. They called his bluff and fined him again. Now he is reportedly broke.

Theres no further step to take this. The proved they could do this. Now its become a case of cutting off their own nose to spite their face. There comes a time where it makes sense to bring in help for the team. And make a move for the betterment of the team. Not for Ben, but for the team.

Theres nothing left to prove here. Its time to move on and try to help the team win now.

To add... if they continue this, and have a very mediocre 6-7th seed type of record, it begins to look like Ben is winning.

His value this season was at its all time high when they were on fire while playing all of their backups. Now, theyve come back down to earth a bit. And if Embiid cant take them on a big hot streak its going to look like theyve missed yet another opportunity to trade him at peak value.

I disagree they need to act now.  The last thing you want to do is just give him away for nothing.  They already did that with Fultz.

Yep. Screw it. Wait it out.

Man that was frustrating. Both us and the refs.

They wouldn't be giving him away for nothing.  The reported offers have all been good.

yep...and honestly they're not winning the championship this season no matter what...so there's no reason to rush into a bad trade.

was just going to post this

Joel Embiid returned to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night after missing nearly three weeks due to contracting COVID-19. Embiid said he was hit hard by the virus.

"I really thought I wasn’t going to make it. It was that bad. So I’m just thankful to be sitting here," Embiid said. "I struggled with it, but I’m just glad that I got over it and I’m here doing what I love with some good people.”

Glad that vaccine is working as it should

His value is never going back up. The longer he sits, the less value he’s going to have. I don’t understand why anyone thinks if they just "wait it out” they’re suddenly going to see someone give us some big offer.

People who don't realize he was never good enough to fetch a superstar even when he was playing...

And/or people who think "a better offer for Ben" actually means offering a better player but asking for a bunch of our other good players and draft picks.

So,  not actually a better offer for Ben. But they don't realize that... These people are just waiting for an opportunity to unload Maxer. Dumb..

Honestly if Grant plus a pick is actually on the table from Cleveland, I’m taking that. You aren’t getting much better. And depending on the protections on that pick, it’s a good value.

The thing is he’s already destroyed his own value.  Why would you trade for that crybaby if you were another team?  Morey is handling it right - the Sixers just have to hope someone gets desperate.

I doubt it is now

Reportedly Morey declined because he wanted Cunningham included.

How stupid??

Harden is frustrated in Brooklyn and fans are booing him.

Get desperate for what exactly? Not sure what kind of desperation leads to wanting Simmons

I know, that’s the problem.

He isn’t handling it right. Handling it right would have been accepting one of the very reasonable offers that were reportedly on the table, before his value tanked even further.
