He isn’t handling it right. Handling it right would have been accepting one of the very reasonable offers that were reportedly on the table, before his value tanked even further.

If the goal was to get $.50 for a dollar then yes, he’s doing it wrong

The offers presented were not 50 cents on the dollar.

This game should be over by the start of the 4th.

He almost died you insensitive bastid! Lol

man Maxey couldnt make a shot tonight, but so close to a triple double, with no turnovers. Even a bad game is a pretty good game for him.

Another year another " they haven't played together much"

Exactly.  What he couldn’t generate in points, he made up for in others areas on the stat sheet.

Hes pretty washed, but something like Shake for Kemba?

The New York Knicks have dropped Kemba Walker from the starting lineup and the rotation altogether.

Alec Burks will start at point guard for the Knicks.

Walker has averaged 11.7 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 24.5 minutes per game this season for the Knicks.

Pretty sure Kemba’s contract is bigger than Simmons’. If the Knicks buy him out, they should definitely try to bring him in.

I had a non-thinking moment and didnt even think about contracts. Shake for Kemba

Sixers should be happy Cole Anthony was out the way they played.

Ah, I see. So we will never agree, because we have a fundamental difference in our valuation of Simmons. To me, the moment last year’s playoffs ended the best return you could get for him was maybe a borderline all star. Certainly nowhere near a superstar level talent was ever going to be given for Simmons.

He’s extremely flawed.  He’s also 25 and a 3-time All Star.  And I’ve already been sold fools gold on trades multiple times with this franchise.

Yes, he's doing it wrong.  Odds are that Embiid has a couple of years of window left before his body just can't take it anymore.  Giving up this year and watching Simmons price tag drop in the meantime isn't the answer.

Embiid is 27.  While it’s possible his body breaks down that soon, I could see him playing another 5 years.

well, his post up game has definitely died.

i thought simmons was the excuse for using jojo at the top of the key all the time...guess not.

You could tell from the start of the game, Joel was looking to conserve his energy all game.  He just played 46 minutes in double OT two days before after being off for 3 weeks.  He knew the Magic were terrible and he only needed to give minimum effort.  The coaches need to get into Maxey's ear and tell him not to defer and to be just as assertive when Joel is playing.  You can tell he is looking to get it to Embiid most sets rather than looking to score himself.

That was BS excuse, I never believed that for a minute.

This is my biggest take away from the last couple games.  Maxey has has to figure out how to be the Maxey we saw without Embiid.  He's such a good student of the game that I'm sure he'll figure it out.  This is where his close relationship with Sam Cassell will be so valuable because Maxey will actually listen; he's coachable.  Young Cassell had to figure out how to play with a veteran superstar center in Olajuwon.

This has been a concern of mine for Maxey since the season started and was the primary reason I wanted to have him playing off the bench when the season started.  He played so well with Embiid out, I doubt that happens now but this is a hurdle he would have needed to clear eventually either way.

I know Danny Green was quoted a few weeks back as saying he has been encouraging Maxey to not defer to the vets all the time and stay aggressive.  Hopefully, if he sees it then the coaches see it and everyone is encouraging him in that direction.

Maxey will be fine. The more he plays with Embiid, the more comfortable he’ll get with being aggressive when he’s on the floor.  The kid seems to have a good head on his shoulders and has the basketball IQ you’re looking for.  He’ll figure out when to defer and when to get his.
