Let's trade the runner up for MVP for role-players and go through a decade of mediocrity! This thread never disappoints.

I was there last year when Embiid went down again. Get rid of him ASAP before he really falls apart. They will never do it but that would be the smartest thing they could do. The big question is what do you get in return?

Forgot how fun it was watching Andre iguadala lead the team to the 8 seed a thousand times. Let’s get back to that ASAP.

Not saying trading Embiid is the right thing to do but, what exactly have they gotten out of it besides a better regular season record?

But you want to trade Ben for CJ, who has a horrible contract and is owed 33 and 35 million over the next two years.

He's producing.  He's young enough. And that's 2 years. He plays a more important position for success in the modern NBA game.

Embiid couldn't be more opposite in every way.

He just came off yet another consecutive injury marred post-season. And is under contract for the next SIX years with an exorbitant price tag. Plays a devalued position.

Also,  trading a useless player (Ben) for McCollum. While you'd be getting a great player in return for embiid.

You couldn't possibly come up with a worse comparison if you tried.

They were way slow to come around on trading Simmons. They'll be too late with Embiid too. But for now they can try to feel smart with a bunch of dumb one liners.

I understand not wanting to go back to the mediocre days and all that but, all we are getting is a better regular season record with the same 1st/2nd round playoff exit. I guess if you are excited about a better regular season record then sure, I guess.

It's becoming the same thing year in year out. Embiid just needs to get in shape, he just needs to get his chemistry with the rest of the team, he is sick and sometimes all of the above every damn playoffs

Yep.

And,  they're not gonna trade him in the next few years anyway.  They just committed big time.  It's pretty moot right now.

By the time they might consider it, the contract won't be movable.

To think Ben doesn't have value aka is useless shows where you are in the Simmons saga. You are willing to trade him away for pennies on the dollar. CJ doesn't even move the neddle for the Sixers come playoff time.

You can see teams are starting to panic and then a GM trying to save his job will make an offer for Simmons that will blow a trade for CJ out the water. The CJ trade can be had tomorrow, a week from now or trade deadline day. Heck, I think the Sixers would be doing the Blazers a favor to help get rid of that contract.

But I'm sure you still believe that bringing back Doc will make Tobias into Clippers Tobias again.

Do you feel the same way about AD? Why would you trade for him because he is always injured.

They were a Kawai Leonard horse shot away from the finals a few years back. Since then it’s become increasingly obvious that Ben is the playoff liability that’s kept them from going further.

They still had to play overtime and the bucks the following series. They were one shot away from overtime not the finals lol.

They were guaranteed wins. GUARANTEED! My point stands.

I don't disagree with your Ben point but, I think Butler had a major part of that run. I don't see them getting a player like that for Ben and even if they do have to hope Embiid stays healthy for a run like that.

embiid out tonight

Not sure if you slept through last season, but Harris was Clippers Harris all of last year.  He was very good.

This year, not so much.

AD is overrated. Embiid owns him. AD cant handle the big bodies. And he is always injured.

Im not trading Simmons for pennies on the dollar. I want to trade him for what his value is. It seems people dont understand what equal value actually means.

They’ve built a team that is one star scorer away from being a legit contender for a championship.

The only reason you trade embiid now is if you feel that it’s impossible to win a championship with him. Which is an opinion but I disagree.

I think you can win one with Embiid but, it's going to take the right player to play with him and a sheet ton of luck getting him that far. So in my opinion you can but, very very slim chance.

AD was named Top 75 player of All Time, but is now overrated.

Simmons is overrated, Morey should be fired, and Embiid should be traded. What other overreaction am I missing?

AD is in the same boat when it comes to injuries. Lakers got lucky with the bubble... At least the Lakers took advantage of it though and AD balled out while Embiid cried and said all he wanted to do was go home.

Embiid shouldnt be traded. He should have been traded, but that ship has sailed.

Simmons isnt overrated. He was for years. Now most people have realized what he is. Yet, people continue to overstate his trade value.

And, Morey has absolutely looked foolish in this situation. And IF he ever lands a name bigger than a McCollum, or Fox/Sexton, or Jermi Grant, or DeAngelo Russell its NOT going to be because he got more value for Simmons. Its going to be because he added more value in to the deal, like Maxey, or Thybulle.

Grizzlies have real depth, Sixers don't.

they're so bad w/o embiid...but yeah...definitely trade him!

How "Lock Down” was Thybulle tonight?  For those of us who couldn’t watch.  They only have up 126.
