The more I read in this thread about McNabb and Iverson, the more similar they seem lol.

iverson was much better at his sport than mcnabb was...and his hip-hop, idgaf persona appealed to the youf!

Weird that we only made one ECF with him then.

Which is exactly why they should have been loved/hated the same.

not that weird, imo. iverson was a great individual player. personally, i think he was a sheety team player.  but he was roty,  4x scoring leader, 11 time all star, mvp, nba 75th anniversary team, & nba hof'er.  2nd best playoff scoring avg of all time....behind jordan.  much better than mcnabb was as an nfl player.

If they move Tobias, which seems necessary for salary and roster construction reasons, they are going to have to get a serviceable PF back somehow.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. And McNabb is still the best QB in Eagles history. He really deserves more respect. Plus he was right about Wentz sucking.

You had to know you would be nothing more than a role player if playing with Iverson.

Thad Young as a buy out guy for PF.

Thaddeus Young asked to be bought out if he wasn't traded by the deadline.  I wouldn't mind bringing him home.

Well, Iverson should get more critism than McNabb if he had more talent and his teams accomplished so much less.

Gallo, Christian Wood, Rui Hachimura, one of the T Wolves backup in Vanderbilt or McDaniels, Thad, Larry Nance

i can't speak for fans who only look at ppg....but i gave iverson a lot of sheet & pushed for him to be traded for years before it finally happened.

trade the a1ds!!!

He bought into team play 1 time and it took him to the finals. Then turned back into not giving a sheet and doing what he wanted. He gave everyone a taste of what he could be if he bought into browns system and then immediately pissed it away. I actually don't understand why Iverson gets all the love.

Mike Scott is available

Would it be wrong to keep him as a third option?  He's getting back to his efficient self.  Keep in mind before COVID hit him he was playing good and last year he was a few made FTs away from an 50/40/90 year.   I go back and forth.  He's overpaid for sure but again, as a 3rd option it's not an awful one.

even in that season...they surrounded him with defensive guys like snow, mutumbo, tyrone, hill, & lynch who weren't interested in scoring...so iverson could chuck up as many shots as he liked. iverson took over 25 shots per game & the next highest guy was mckie at around 9.

Does the money work if we acquire and extend Harden?

"He's an f'n all-star"

tobi will be back to dribbling out of open 3's and into contested, fadeaway 2's in no time. it's what he is.

I like Tobi but without Simmons, they need more defense and rebounding  from the 4.  Simmons contributing them at unusually high levels at the 1 compensated for Tobi’s weaknesses in those areas.

He actually has the skills to be a competent #3 option on a contending team but he is too soft which interferes with his game.  He has to be playing well to have confidence.  However, the second there is turmoil or adversity, he shrivels.  You see him complaining to the ref about a missed foul call 5-6 times a game and some of the times, he is doing that during play instead of hustling back on defense.  You will see him trot back on defense a lot after he turns it over or gets blocked/stolen from.  You only see him show emotion when things are rolling.  When things are not, his body language looks like a kid who had his lunch money stolen from him.  He did it last playoff series and was shaken for a couple games in a row.

If we end up with Harden, Hield and Thad Young after tomorrow...wow

EDIT: Maybe the Nets throw in Millsap? He wants out of there

The McNabb puke joke is valid. He went out drinking all night before the super bowl and played hung over. Brady conversely was focused on the game. It was a business trip. All of the Iverson criticism you guys bring up is likewise valid, but he at least showed up for games.
