Need to play Joe and Reed to see what they have but he never played Maxey consistent minutes last year either.

yeah...glenn just won't give minutes to young guys unless he's forced to (maxey).  and then they have no depth as a result of those young guys not being able to develop & find their roles.

You shouldn't been a defender. It's who he is

15 games to integrate Reed, Joe, and even a bit of Bassey or might not make it out of round one.

Embiid has flourished under Rivers. Harris has had his best seasons under Rivers. Maxey has developed under Rivers. I think he gets the best out of his players. He's been brutal as far as Xs and Os though.

Andy Reid-ish?

I was actually thinking about that comparison.

Joel was always going to be great as long as he got into better shape and stayed healthy. He has flourished because he wants to be great and busts his ass in the off season with Drew Hanlan; as has Maxey who ironically has the same trainer as Simmons.

Heck, I think Barkley and Shaq busting on Embiid has motivated him more than Doc ever has

Harris is nothing more than a 4th option. Has been the same consistent player his entire career. A guy that puts up good stats on bad teams or teams that lack options to shoot, but when time to preform under the lights he sucks. Simmons gets crap for Game 7 last year, but Harris missed multiple layups and was 8/24 from the field and 2/7 from 3.

This has been his MO throughout his entire coaching career.

Yep. Few of us said it. Take that deal and sign Harden this summer.

Was the deal Ben for Haliburton + Buddy or was Barnes and Tobi supposed to included?

That's going to be a great debate depending on how this unfolds.  This season Harden is shooting 41.6% from the field and 34.1% from three.  Just based on those numbers, Hali is a way more efficient shooter.  There's probably little debate that from a regular season standpoint today's roster would be better off with Hali + Buddy + Seth + Drummond instead of Harden.  We'd have legit scorers coming off the bench and the 1 seed would've been very doable as long as Joel was healthy.  The question is how would that roster fare in the playoffs with so little playoff experience?

It could be that I'm just comparing Doc to Brett Brown who is one of the worst NBA coaches I've ever seen (next to Eddie Jordan of course). Brett didn't have a role for Harris at all. The last year of Brett was the worst I've seen Harris look.

i don't think any of of know what the actual offer was...if there was one. but there were lots of made up offers on twitter!

brett was in way over his head. dude had zero respect from his players and lacked the balls to hold them accountable for anything. when he used the media to send a message to ben that he needed to take threes....that was the final straw, imo.

Morey talked about another team wanting that 2nd 1st for a player so might have been the Kings.

i'm sure things will turn around any game now.....

[Austin Krell] DeAndre Jordan in his 4 games as a Sixer: -13 in 51 minutes The Sixers are getting outscored by 13.6 points per 100 possessions with him on the court. The Sixers are getting outscored by 22.71 points per 100 possessions in Jordan’s 39 minutes next to Harden.

Yep.  Should done the Kings trade.

Barnes for Harris was included.  Hield and Haliburton and I think there was a first.

Morey insisted on Fox so deal never got done.

Did Maxey hit the sophomore slump or is he just tired?

I'm half serious when I say this....should they start giving Charlie Brown minutes off the bench?  He seems like a guy who might be more productive than our bums, with Harden on the floor.

That was a terrible signing.  He was more cooked than Howard when we got him.  But Doc gonna Doc.  He loves him some completely washed vets.

Everyone saw what a disaster that would be. Just go small and play Reed

He put up 19 points… that’s above his season average

Forget the numbers, use the eye test.  He has been in a slump the last 3 games.

There were long stretches last night where there was absolutely no movement on offense.  Nobody was moving the ball, nobody was moving off ball, and no one was out setting screens.  It was a large box with Harden or Embiid at the top of the key/3 point line getting stonewalled because the defense didn't have to do anything but focus on them.  Doc would call a time out, they would run a semi coherent offense and start scoring again until they fell back into that offensive stagnation.

In the arena, it was particularly difficult to watch but easy to see.  It was almost like looking at a still picture. So much of Maxey's game is built on his speed that he becomes almost useless in those situations.  That's why Niang got so many shots.  When Embiid or Harden were successful in forcing a double, the Nuggets would help off him, or ignore him completely when doubling immediately, then he would get the kick out for an open 3, which he would usually miss.

last couple games I feel like they're going out of their way to get tobi going...could be why maxey hasn't been as involved.

Agreed.  I had a post about Glenn needing to figure out the balance in the short time remaining.  I think ideally 30 from Joel, 20-25 for Harden, 15 - 20 from Tobi and Maxie.  If those four can get at least 90 then we only need about 30 points from everybody else which shouldn't be too much to ask from professional basketball players.

Might be nothing but Nets are beating the Magic by 30, while the Sixers struggled with them. Irving also went for 60.

Win or lose, James Harden is going to party.

After the Sixers got shellacked by the Nets in Philadelphia — a game in which Harden shot very poorly — the new 76ers guard was spotted out partying with rappers Travis Scott and Lil Baby.

This is going to go awesome in Philly if this is what he is going to continue to do.

And after a victory he was running stairs at the WFC......let's not make too big a deal about either honestly.
