The league is getting ridiculous with the flagrant fouls. I have no clue how that was a flagrant on Harden. Yeah, elbow hit his face, but it was clearly not an intentional malicious shot. 
 

Anyway, is it just me or does anyone else feel like Maxey needs to be the go-to guy in those late games situations? Defense is obviously going to focus on Embiid and Harden. I think Maxey is the best finisher at the rim and has been the most consistent three point shooter. Despite being a second year guy, I actually have more confidence in him than anyone else to get a bucket when it’s needed down the stretch. 

harden's scoring has been underwhelming. 

 

and toronto is stacked with  long, athletic wings...exactly what philly lacks...and it showed on the boards.

In the Denver game they scored 37 in the first quarter and then lost.  Went cold for most of the game. 

How many in the 1st quarter last night? Like 40? And then they don't even hit 100?

It's either slow start,  or incredible start and nothing for 3 quarters.

It’s ridiculous. They play no defense in the first place so might as well keep scoring. Every game they go up by 20 and let up.  

do we all agree that the sixers aren't winning it this year? and it will most likely be a painful 1st or 2nd round playoff exit?  that's my expectation, anyway...keep in mind that this roster wasn't built knowing they'd have harden.  hopefully morey will be very busy this offseason...(if they re-sign harden), they need to build a roster around him that will work...get some actual 3 & D guys...get some long, athletic guys on the wing...get some rebounding help....get a real backup center. there are a lot of needs. 

Yeah... maybe too many stars wasnt the way to go. They are all struggling to adjust to new roles. 

Probably shoulda got guys like Haliburton and Hield. And traded Harris for more of that type of guy in the summer. 

harden is the shot creator they badly needed...problem is, he's passing the ball to guys who are mostly spazzes & can't shoot or finish around the rim. niang can stay...he can at least knock down an open three. most of the others (outside of embiid & maxey, of course) can't shoot threes or finish very well...and none of them are athletic lob threats.

Harden has been really bad shooting the ball the last 4-5 games.  Not sure if that is because he was overused all year or he is just slumping.  He needs to get much better at it and quickly.

yep. maybe sit him a few games down the stretch so he's fresh for the playoffs.

It couldn't hurt.  Maybe closer to the end of the season when the seedings are more or less locked in.

I think this team gets bounced in the first round.  Harden has been awful and they have no bench.  Once you bring in 2 or 3 bench guys the game flips almost immediately.  Awful.

Are they the 5th best team in the East right now?

This. He's all about making the pretty pass. He's finding guys wide open who are missing open jumper after open jumper. What's worse is other guys are trying to make the pretty pass too and they can't, which is leading to turnovers.

Thats old news. But we didnt get the version of Harden everyone expected. People thought he would dribble out the shot clock and chuck up endless ISO shots. 

Ironically, Harden has come in as a facilitator, and now Joel is asking him to be more aggressive scoring the ball.
