I can't figure out the dead money?   He had $14.8 mil of 2021 salary converted to signing bonus  ...plus ... $15.9 mil of 2022 salary converted to signing bonus also...  not sure how they can trade him until a post June 2022 designation without taking huge cap hit?

taking huge cap hit

We're pros at this(aka lack of vision, lack of quality draft picks)

This guy knows his stuff ... need to concentrate to really understand this though ... basically he was saying the Eagles are pushing the money back to 2023 and 2024 where the cap is expected to go up huge.   Getting Mailata and Sweat signed for pretty much zero cap impact this year.    Sounds like he doesn't expect Cox to be traded this year though.

Selling him after losing Graham to injury wouldn't necessarily warm the locker room, and Cox would prefer to be a lifelong Eagle. But Javon Hargraveis balling, while Cox is approaching 31, not currently living up to his big deal and could be Howie Roseman's best asset for 2022 restocking, should Nick Sirianni's squad struggle to stack wins before November.

Do you think Howie would put Cox on the block? It would be a SHOCKER for shade tree Eagles' fans!

Tuesday is the deadline.

As you know I was never a Barnett fan. he is also on this list

This season is DOA and his tackle rate is DOWN. He also goes from 6.4% of our cap to 6.7% next year.

The usual Rosie Magic….pay two and three years from now for this year’s play. Have a crappy team now….but we’ll handicap 2023 to be this crappy.

The contract actually gave the Eagles more flexibility and the ability to re-sign Sweat and Mailata and you are complaining?

It's all contract games, every team does it,why are you shocked? Name me one team that has never had cap issues

Mailata and Sweat re-signed,we have ALL WR"s on rookie contracts(no paying Djax and Alshon or any other WR) We' re not paying a QB either. Gainwell is a rook and we have 5 top picks coming(also at rook pay)

You understand how this lessons our future abilities though, right? If ok to be terrible….but at least pay your big guys now AND clear cap room to roll forward. Such a simple concept I’ve been preaching for so many years.

Sweat and Mailiata are not "big guys" going forward? Ertz is gone also,so that's off the books. You(and I and everyone) preached "lets get younger" well we're doing that, but yeah there are a few old remnant players left. You cant just do all this in a year

If your contending with an ARod or Brady….sure…push things forward. But understand if you push things forward when you suck….your contending window shrinks when you actually get good. Because you already pushing everything forward. Do it the way I’m saying and you can really keep that window open. Or just push all this cap money to 2023 and 2024 for last years 4 win team and this year’s 2 win team.

Because by 2024 the salary cap will be 240 milliion(estimated) and I'm sure they will restructure them both before then

BTW if I'm paying 24 mil and 18 mil to 2 players while not really paying anyone else(no QB no WR's no RB's),I'm pretty happy if I have a 240 mil salary cap

Sure the cap goes up. And to sign anybody then do you think prices will go down? No….the cap inflation pretty well reflects the salary inflation. But sure pay in 2024 when you hope for us to be good for play in a 2 win season. Makes sense to you. To me it’s ignorant!
