You see this. If we have a minority signed  as a HC or GM then we get two third round compensatory picks.

NFL is ending mandatory testing for COVID. Mandate test when symptoms are noticed.

I said all season that if Mahomes, or Rodgers or whatever starting QB or big name caught covid Super Bowl week, we would NEVER EVEN HEAR ABOUT IT. No chance they keep a star out for that reason. Could you even imagine?

Hurts clearly improved as a passer. Just no doubt. Completion percentage and bad throws were heavy targets for haters on Hurts. He answered those. Obviously improving.

"Hurts ranked 26th in completion rate despite those improvements as a thrower. He was a critical component to a ground game that finished tops in the NFL (159.7 rush yards/game), but the offense often faltered when the Eagles had to rely on the pass, as seen in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' convincing 31-15 win over Philadelphia in the wild-card playoff game Sunday, in which Hurts went 23-of-43 for 258 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. The Eagles were 0-7 against playoff teams in 2021 and were outscored by a combined 96 points in those games. Hurts went 8-8 as the starter and beat one team that finished the season with a winning record -- the Saints, who had third-string QB Trevor Siemian at the controls.”

Hurts was so bad as a passer that it’s just getting sad at this point how you try and defend it

We were out scored by 96 points against good to great QBs that completed 80 percent of their passes. That’s all Hurts related , right?

We weren’t that great a team.

When watching the playoff game you see they use press man some. Worked a little too well. One of the biggest areas of concern for Smith.

I was disappointed Gannon didn’t have Slay follow Evans. Think we all assumed that was the game plan. Tampa got us on that.

Seemed like every time we threw a screen they had four guys out wide by the sideline shutting it down. Really was impressive the way their team speed seemed on those.

Over and over you keep talking about Hurts earning a second contract.

Correct.... if he earns one, then it's a success.   Can he do it, sure he can... I never said he couldn't,  my point is that it is the bar for him.  If he reaches that,  then he is a success.

To your point, if he is truly the 15th best QB in the league...and remains at that level.... then that 2nd contract will be a 40 to 50 mil per year deal soon enough.

Now I will say, I do not see that happening,  but I wouldn't eliminate the possibility of Hurts being in the NFL for 5 years, he absolutely can do that and become a success.

How often did we see.... and hear Aikman talk about the off coverage used on Smith?     What game were you watching when you make a comment about Smith being pressed???  Lol.

Who said it was  " ALL" Hurts related?   But you would think the 15th best QB would be able to compete against some teams that were around that level???   Giants game was total disaster for him.   But he did well vs bad teams and 3rd string QBs.

Woke up to snow. I forgot I haven't seen snow since 1994

First three and out we had third and two. Ran the option out to the left I believe. TB snuffed it out for a loss. That was a bad playcall. Third and long a couple drives later and we threw the screen pass. Shut down. Whole team stunk in the playoff game including coaches. Hurts stunk. But it says something to me that not a single guy was playing great. We needed that road playoff experience. Crucial for this young coaching staff and these players. Their tasting defeat this offseason. But learned lessons and will grow from it. Hard learned lessons tend to stick.

Well and good, but then you get coaching changes, new players coming in. have to re-learn alot of it with different people. If Hurts goes to an offseaseom throwing coach and comes back different, then WR's have to relearn the new "spin". The timing might be different. This is always a fluid process And why I want this WR corps set ASAP. Then it's just finding your compatible QB,so all that can gel over the next 3-4 years

No it's not clear at all. The caliber of teams we faced dropped. Pretty simple, the worse teams you play the better you look, not science here. I just refuse to lower the bar

The employer-club of a minority employee who has been hired by another club as its Head Coach or Primary Football Executive (General Manager) shall receive Draft choice compensation in the form of a compensatory Draft pick in the third round in each of the next two Drafts for an employee hired as either a Head Coach or Primary Football Executive, or for the next three Drafts if it has two employees hired for both positions. The reference to the hiring of employees into "both positions” could be by the same club or different clubs.

This is racist,won't stand

Because they know "Hurts can't throw" and that "Hurts can't read". IDK why you are making this complicated LOL. Both of those are pretty important for an NFL QB

A guy watching the film and breakdowns. They ran press man several times and it gave Smith problems. One if the obvious worries when drafting such a skinny player. Bucs made that happen.

He did well in a must win game against Washington. Heinicke started out completing all his passes. Hurts lead the comeback. We won the game and got in the playoffs. Unlike how your boy unraveled vs the worst team in the league to get left out of the postseason.

You realize Siri is in Hurts earpiece until like 12 seconds to go. He should be practically calling out the defense in Hurts ear.  Maybe we need to get to the line earlier to give him more a chance to read things. I’m not that worried about a 23 year old having struggles reading a complicated NFL defense. That seems very normal. Why no QBs had trouble reading our defense? That part is troubling.

We are mesmerized by how Brady can read the defense and it’s hard for a coordinator to trick him. Yet you guys are blasting Hurts because he’s not on Brady’s level? This is basic stuff to learn for QBs coming into the NFL. Really up to coaches a fair amount. Doesn’t feel like we even have hot routes. You know when it’s a big blitz the receiver breaks off his route. See to me this is on the coaches. But it really feels like about youth. Young QB that are learning and young WR learning. Gotta get this in. Make teams pay for blitzing.  Or we will face it endlessly.

He drastically improved his completion percentage and lowered his bad throws. That’s just clearly improving. He had 77 percent completion against ATL. 64 against Dallas. 67 against KC. 69 against Broncos. Good percentages against Washington. His higher percentage games were against good defenses. The main team that he consistently stunk against was TB. Bowles got our number.

Giants game was a disaster. Yet he threw a perfect ball that Ward dropped in the endzone. Answered and drove us down to win the game at the end. But it’s definitely his fault that we took Reagor with the first round pick and he was WR 2.  Threw two game winning balls to Reagor that he dropped. That’s actually a game that gives me faith in Hurts. He had a terrible game yet still….answered in the clutch. He can’t run, throw and catch however. Needs a bit of help. Hurts overcame a bad day by making clutch throws. That I can work with.

His worst game was against the giants. So this just isn’t what even happened.

IDK when you throw pics does that go against your completion percentage?

Bucs teammates are bracing for this to be Brady’s last run there. They kept all the starters and key players from last season. Making it all but impossible to bring it al back for a third season.

Brady leaves wouldn’t surprise me if Arians retires also.
