This is kind of load of garbage. Part of a Sb winning team? Plenty of crappy players wear rings. Especially as backups. With Ward I think: can he be a dependable part of the rotation and room. I think he’s a good guy to have for that. Would I rather be able to pull Jerry Rice off the bench as the fourth, fifth or sixth option? Of coarse. He can contribute and he’ll be where he’s supposed to be. That’s important. Him and the QB have a good relationship. Could he,as a backup, stepup and win some important games for us in a pinch in a larger role? Yep, he checks that box too. Already did in fact. Carried us almost single handly(at WR) to the playoffs. I want bigger faster guys that are elite instead of Ward. I’m fine if what you call those guys is …..wait for it…..starters.

Then don't drop the TD pass right.   It has to be either QB or WR fault.  Pathetic performance vs the Giants.   Their relationship didn't help much there.   You need to get away from the fantasy world where everything else matters more than talent.   We got our ass kicked by every decent team last year that we faced because we are not a good team... that's step 1.  Let's take care if that first.

If you want to UDFA him-whatever

I care about much more than just judging a guy based on size and arm strength.

Guy dropped one pass. Yes it was a much needed TD in a game we struggled vs the Gmen. Totally Ward’s fault. His biggest mistake of his career I’d say.

I don’t think everything else matters than talent.

Talent is huge

Tyler Boyd. But yeah. Let’s get three guys like that. Maybe we can actually improve the rest of the team also though.

Smith and Watkins... add the one really good WR to that mix...  then tell me who Cincy has at 4 and 5 where it would matter?   Paschal would be as good at that point to make it irrelevant.  Cincy would be considered a much better WR group than ours because of the top end.  You could compare Smith, Watkins and Paschal to Higgins,  Boyd and whoever...  when you throw in Chase ...that's the difference.   That impacts Burrow ... that will impact our QBs as well.

But all you talk about is the fairy tale stuff.   The fairy tale stuff didn't do crap last year.   " the coach figured out the identity"   or " the coach and QB are on the same page now"

The reality...  we played decent teams and got our asses kicked.  We played Sisters of the poor and that's when we won.    Not complicated.

I thought this was old news?

Boyd has gone over a thousand yards twice. Went over eight hundred last year.

Guy wasn't in much... that one pass was a good portion of his opportunities. Clutch and good relationship with QB didn't help much.

Yes Boyd great stats when he started. Quez with a normal QB and all the reps probably gets close enough.  The difference between Cincy and us isn't Boyd and the #s 4 and 5... vs Watkins, Paschal and whoever... it's the top end.

Exactly, guy has been underestimated his whole career. But is pretty darn solid when actually given an opportunity. Nobody wants to give him a chance because he isn’t the biggest and fastest and doesn’t have those measurables. Took until we lost all our WR to give him a shot under Pedey. What happened? He delivered and we went to the playoffs in 2019. Now he’s being held back by another new coach. Seemed like he just came in and caught TD passes when he got a chance. Maybe the measurable athleticism is a bit overrated.

Boyd their third WR is arguably better than ANY WR we have.

He also has 2 other guys that pull defenses so he can get open. We don't have that

So what enamors you about him that makes you want him on our team?

Is what it is. He has the size and arm that all some seem to care about.

Ruggs had speed, Reagor had speed. How did those guys work out?  More to QB'ing than size. IDk I have no seen him play. Needless to say,I'm sure he looks good vs lackluster opponents(like we did last year playing 3rd stringers)

Boyd was the guy producing before all that.

Alabama A&M QB just is a big guy with a big arm. He’s interesting. Not on the level of Strong or Zappe.

With Glass it’s just seeing a big kid with a strong arm has to intrigue some. You have to think can big time coaches polish off a diamond  in the rough.

Guys like this are really tough to tell anything about. he reminds me of Big Ben. But the league he is in is SO bad IDK if he could transition. Like I said If you want to UDFA him I have NP giving him a chance. I would rather see him head to the new USFL. If he can handle THAT,then maybe he has a shot in the NFL at some point

Not like I’m talking a high pick on him. I just said he’s interesting and looks pretty darn good. I’d think a seventh round pick at most would bring him in.

We are in on trading for Cooks….again.

Not worth a 7th even to me. UDFA or let him try his luck in the USFL

Interesting….you prefer the smaller guy with a weak arm. Not that intrigued with him. Playing for his uncle he put up some stats distributing the ball in college. Still managed plenty of interceptions some how.

The Brandin Cooks trade is a tough one for me. Just not sure what I’d trade for him. Also don’t know how much he’ll cost in a new contract.

But let’s say a third round pick and 15 mil a season for three seasons. Do you make the trade?

We have 15.2 cap space. Barnett showing up on OTC as 7.2 in dead money for some reason. Howie's going to make another move.
