Cheering for the circumstances to legit.   Not like the BS last year that for some reason you can't see a problem with being extatic beating Matt Ryan as the only QB that will start this year?

I want the circumstances to put Hurts in position to show it one way or the other...  not with as you put it " head up the arse "  thinking a comeback to win in the teens vs depleted teams who picked in the top 10 are " showing character"

It's not rooting to lose...it's simply looking for a higher quality of play and to stop relying on the pathetic opponent / division.

You were the guy obsessed a few years ago about " we need to get that top seed and home field advantage "  now the bar is lower for you.   I think we know why.  It's a shame you hold your favorite players to lower standards.

Do I think he's going to be a franchise QB? No I don't but I want him to be.

Welp that's the reasoning we have. After this year if he stays we have to pay him 35-40 million a year. Is he worth that to you???? You admitted he's not a franchise QB and we're just saying it out loud

See I’m fine with doubts. Just feels like it’s gone way beyond that for too many. I’m rooting for all our guys to improve and do well. Feels like that’s what a real fan does.

We're stating our doubts outloud. BTW you can be a fan and criticize your team. Alot of fans from every team DO. I doubt the FO listens to us,but we can still air complaints about how to make this team PERFECT(which never happens, but that is the goal). I guess we will know about Wentz, because we're playing him twice a year now

who’s trading that pick?

A team that wants another round 1 pick(thats why we made the trade THIS year)

I can't speak for the others, but I am cheering to see a QB that can give us WR development,SEE WIDE OPEN receivers,go through his proper check downs quickly and deliver an accurate pass without holding the ball long enough to read a Philly phone book. So far Hurts has NOT shown me ALL those attributes. I am cheering him  to do that and if he can't I need to find the guy that WILL before I pay out a HUGE amount of money with a long term contract. Sound fair enough?

when you see a guy you like, you need to pounce,

Howie said they had two guys rated highly at 51 Jurgens who we took and Dean who we still got at 83

The best part about this is hf Hurts isn't the guy they have 2 #1 picks next year to move around as they please.

If he IS the guy they  have 2 #1 picks next year to move around as they please.

As I stated,I like the pick, just though we could get him later with a trade back. Apparently they didn;t want to take that risk and they have alot more info than I would

That thinking is as sharp as a basketball if you are Ham

Wonder what the Eagles plans will be today will we sit idle until are picks?

Dillard for a 4th rounder could be a deal we see today seems like around about the right value for him

For once it seems Howie has the Eagles in a good draft position

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/damarri-mathis-pitt-cb-nfl-draft-scouting-report-2022/  Been looking at this kid awhile. a nice BU/prospect at CB. A homer too. Loads of upside, flying under the radar

154 pick-DO IT if he's there. We need a homer. Then at 237 get me Davis-Price at RB(LSU) because we need a guy with a hyphen 😁

PFF says "Castro-Fields" the CB from Penn. Love to have him, don;t see him making it to 154. That why I chose the other kid,but either works for me(and we have our hyphen guy at 154 lol)

If he's there at 154. DBs are going at a premium this year.

I was pretty shocked to see Sting go before Sauce(who was my pick when we ranked as having the 5 pick before we won all those lame games HAHAHA). PFF has a CB and so do I. Both homers

Huh? Whether I think he is or not has nothing to do with whether I want him to though? I want him to be the franchise QB but doesn't mean he's going to be.

Well you have ONE year to make a decision if he is a franchise QB or not. if you think he IS,you're going to sign him to a 5 years 35 million a year contract. It's the biggest decision a team makes and Hurts MUST prove that NOW. There is no more waiting and no more excuses,we got the WR he wanted, now show me the production. It's like a job interview and he is on the final one.

Ok... And I'm not disputing that at all. I'm not saying he's going to have earned that huge contract. I'm not saying he's the answer and the future. Doesn't mean I don't want him to be...

That's fine. I think we all feel that way. I'm not anti-Hurts(but I'm no cheerleader either),but he's going to have to make a HUGE massive leap for me to say "ok I want this guy for the next 5 years". No more garbage time running plays that pad stats,I want to see him tested and show me he can overcome playing vs real teams at full strength, not the candy arse games we won last year. At least that is my position. SHOW ME. We got him a pro bowl receiver. Time to put it up or go away

And I'm not saying you are anti Hurts bud. But I do think some Eagles fans are and they almost want him to fail regardless. I don't want him to fail but I'm also aware that he probably isn't going to be the future.

That's all we're saying(or I am). If we see a guy more like Russel Wilson, then we know we have our guy(but that requires a huge leap-maybe be did that we don't know). Last year was full of excuses. This year the excuses run out and we'll know one way or the other. Howie has boxed him in(and made plans for next year if he's not by making the trade for the extra one THIS year) and to prove if he is our guy or not. So it's on Hurts now,he is the master of his own destiny

Yeah I agree with you bud. Hurts has no excuses now. He's going to in year two as a starter, year three in the league. We now have 2 stud WRs, 1 really good WR with speed, a stud TE, an elite OL and a really good run game. He's also worked with a QB coach this offseason so he should be ready to take a huge step.

Gotta put Hams' punter in here also and the edge guy from South Carolina, although I doubt he makes it to 154. But I would be happy with Castro-Fields, Woolen or Mathis at CB and my round 7 sleeper RB. Who ya got birdheads?

Honestly, screw all this. Think Rosie is finally on fire. Great draft last year. Kicking butt this year. Washington is a wreck if an organization. Dumpster fire. Embarrassment for the whole league. Skins have some talent but everything else is massive turmoil. Cowboys lost Cooper who took them and Dak from sucking to looking like paper champs. I wasn’t all about Davis. But he’s the biggest baddest dude that runs like a LB. Feels like coaching can get him to whatever you need. Just plop him in the middle. Tell me a C that can move him. I sure can’t. Georgia was so freaking talented. Overloaded on defense. Could have fielded two great defenses. We are the best team in the East. Legitimate second tier in the NFC. I respect your opinions always. But here….your flat out wrong. We have a good solid team. We are big and physical. That’s our identity. Teams will struggle with this in the age of finesse and track stars. Reddick makes a difference. Brown brings the ninth ranked offense to serious legitimacy. Dean is a playmaking stud. Total steal. You hate Hurts. Blinding ya. Do leads. The guys believe in him. He’s a winner. Whatever it takes. Continue to knock him for your perceived weaknesses. Think it’s all crap. Other ways to win in this league than having the best QB. ARod been the best. Won once. Have you not seen this. Your caught up like just too many. Just need a guy who won’t shrink in the big moments at the position. We got that. Let the playmakers make plays. We are a tough team. Better have an extra week to prepare for us. Because we going to punch you in the mouth.

Cunningham, I didn’t mean to offend you. I also don’t think joemas WANTS the Eagles to lose from his post. I took it more that he wants them to improve, and in a QB dependent league, it starts there. The "old” football ways didn’t require that position to be as good as it does now. Teams ran on first and second down, passed on third down and NEVER went for it on 4th down. They brought the chains out to measure every time a coach asked them to. Just threw that fact in for the heck of it, as it drove me crazy. Haha.

I LOVE the Eagles. I don’t cheer for any other sports team at this point. My truck is covered in Eagles’ stuff, my golf bag, head covers, golf shirts, tshirts, hats, etc, etc - ALL EAGLES! People that know me say I am the most passionate Fan of a team they know.

Maybe I am too caught up in the wrong things. I don’t hate Hurts. I’d love for him to lead this team to 17 wins plus three more. I do see his limitations though that may very well limit his long term status as a starter in the NFL. I’m not naive. I’d trade the whole team for Patrick Mahomes, minus Cox, Kelce, and AJ Brown, but I recognize there is only one Patrick Mahomes and he isn't going anywhere but KC.

Heck, I hope the Eagles dominate this coming year. Nothing would make me happier. Hurts is a likable young man. Hope he can find ways to overcome his limitations.

Yes, I really liked Wentz a lot. I was mad when they shipped him off. But it’s done and over. I hope they can find a guy with that kind of arm talent that is also a better leader and teammate than Wentz. I don’t spend a second in the locker room to KNOW if that is true, but something has to be amiss with Wentz in that respect.

So on the Eagles go with Hurts. They have surrounded him now with elite talent on offense. If he can’t win; or rather score 30 points per game on average, then he will have to look in the mirror. Yes, coaches need to have good gameplans, but execution is on the players and that starts with the QB who touches the ball on every play.

LET’S GO EAGLES!
