What excuses does Hurts need? He was the backup. Beat out the guy that we traded everything for and paid the largest contract in franchise history.

Key words,he was drafted as a BU and Wentz couldn't handle it(thats on him).He is STILL A BACK UP and he has PLAYED like one. So now we need to see if he has taken the step to be a starting QB.it;'s not THAT hard. It's "showtime". There are no more excuses left. he has the tools(which we refuse to give Wentz). So now it's put up or shut up

AJ just came here to play with Hurts….yet you are still trying to ship QB1 out.

He has not proven he is QB 1. That takes place THIS year. he is Qb 1 because we have noone else(although I like Shew better). If he cannot progress year 3,we will find someone else-period. nice guy,but that won't cut it by itself

If you can improve a position, why wouldn't you?

Absolutely would but NOT with a draft pick.

QB1 just recruited and brought in a top WR. You should be loving him after that.

Aaaaaaaa, I wouldnt give Hurts credit for that. Eagles PAID AJ big time. THAT is what brought AJ to the Eagles. His friendship I’m sure helped though.

But you'd use draft picks for any other position?

He got the tools luring in a top WR friend.

Yeah….because nobody else would have been interested in paying him. From what I’ve seen the contract is very friendly for us and nowhere near top of the market.

Hurts has already proven himself a starter. Now he needs to prove himself more elite a starter.

Plus the fact Reagor is awful, which created the need.  But we can't sell Hurts short on the fact he is an amazing human being.   If he doesn't succeed, it will obviously be due to lack of positional skill at the QB1 position.

No Mas has a different agenda. I’m looking at a new regime. Got a taste of a butt kicking on the road to the defending SB champs. I’d like to see Siri take another step forward here. The goal for this team is win the division. Do that and have a home playoff game …..he has a shot at his first postseason victory. That’s how I’m looking at things. Think we can be in the second tier of teams in the NFC.

We have to make the pre-season before we can talk about getting a win.... We beat 1 team with a winning record last year. How about we shoot for 2 wins against those teams and go from there....  We improved with the draft, but we still have huge holes in this roster. DE. CB and S to name a few.

How is $100 mil a friendly contract? He is the 5th highest paid WR and is not nearly the 5th best in the league. He is a solid WR, but not top 10 in my book. Kupp, Samuel, Jefferson,

Chase, Lamb, Metcalf and Lockett all make less money and are better WR's....

LOL,welp we made offers to many,so that's not the only reason

He starts because we have no one else. With everything we have given him he SHOULD be elite this year and set franchise records

Right....because the cheap contract is coming to an end, and the Eagles won't pay him if he isn't top level...especially with the weapons he has now.  No excuses to not be more elite.  And running the ball isn't what they will be looking for,it will be his passing.

It's a shame though... Hurts was dealt such a bad financial hand unlike Dak whose team has been signing so many free agents.... if only Howie could learn from Jerry on how to manage the cap, then Hurts would be more accurate and we wouldn't be losing all this talent on offense due to not being able to afford them.

Come on Stine... that was the Saints with half their offense missing.

Lockett????     Btw... we need to see the contract details first before being certain where it ranks among the other WRs.

I would take Lockett over AJ Brown easily. Sure it probably changes in a few years......

LOL. Also, I meant Post season, not Pre-Season.... My bad.... Been a little crazy here....

Idk.. I like Lockett... but dude had Metcalfe drawing the coverage and Wilson throwing him the ball.   Vs Brown drawing more attention and getting the ball thrown from Tannehill.

I don't think any NFL gm is going to put Lockett over Brown.     If so, Seattle should be ready to pay $250 million to their WRs.

When you say DE….you are talking about a 3-4 DE? Seems like everything we have done this offseason is towards switching to that.

Going forward after this year... we need the DL depth for sure.... the " edge " will have Reddick, Sweat and the 6th rounder.

He costs 5.6 this year. 8.5 next year. Then we can opt out after the next year. You can’t just throw around the BS numbers.

Made offers to plenty of players. They didn’t choose to come here. Hurts got AJ here.

And think converting third downs and scoring TDs in the Redzone is what to look at. Don’t care which ways he does. Just get it done.

Russel Wilson is one of ….if not the best deep ball tosser in the game. Metcalf will be getting paid here soon enough also. Chase looks like he’ll set a new record pay when his time comes up.
