What about this Strong kid... the other option I see here is Ham's favorite one.   Let's say Hurts doesn't really do great, " but similar results to last year where we get to slaughter some bad teams and make the last playoff spot or say 8 wins wins the division like 2020.  We lose to the Saints in the playoffs, the picks are a little low to make a big jump.  But also Strong looks decent in practice.

They could flip a 1st rounder next year for one in 2024... keep Hurts on the cheap and let Strong develop.   Another good draft next year and see what happens with the cheap QBs.  We already have two 2nd rounders in 2024, if we get another 1st round pick, then we can make a move.

It's set up really well going forward if they have patience and don't force anything....and that also gives guys like Ham an extra year to watch their QB run for a lot of yards.... on the cheap.

Strong could be a nice snag. Sure he could work his way up. Suspect they would at least groom him for the #2 this year, since this could be Shews last gig here

Im Baffled that this Strong kid didn't get drafted?   Watching his mechanics, apparently playing 6 months after a knee surgery that everyone told him to sit out because it takes a year.   This guy sits and gets healthy while studying the game.... if intangibles isn't enough this year, I'd like to give this guy a shot next year or at some point before going crazy investing picks and or $$ elsewhere.  But I guess that's the beauty of the situation in that he is here for the Eagles to evaluate.

Love how he moves left and adjusts his body to make efficient and strong throws.

Yeah we made a few steals. Dean was one, this kid could be another.I had Jobe being drafted too 93 had him(Strong) picked out early. That's a good question, what if Hurts is just a bit over "OK" ,Could be a tough decision

But you'd use draft picks for any other position?

Actually yes.

Seems dumb to pass up ANYone at ANY position who can give your team an advantage

I think this kid is going to wow them in practice with his throwing.  I didn't even notice a super strong arm.. it was definitely not weak... but I was just impressed with his mechanics and smooth ability to get the ball off.  Accuracy and he throws a very catchable  ball.

You have a full route tree with this kid... that's going to be what stands out.

Are we still on the punter issue?  Come on man, 18 punters drafted in the last 8 years...that's with 4 this year. It would take 15 years to draft a punter for every team.  Obviously they are out there after the draft or the majority of teams wouldn't have one.  We aren't going to miss out on a Superbowl because we didn't draft a punter this year. Come on now. Moving on.

Maybe find a P from this USFL stuff. Really could find all kinds of pieces from the new league. How much toll on the guys would playing a season for the USFL then going right into an NFL season take? Not sure what the analytics and data would say about the snap account accumulation.

And we got WR's that can run the more difficult routes. if he can read the defenses and hit these guys watch out!

That's a possibility

https://teamcolorcodes.com/philadelphia-eagles-color-codes/   Any serious fans can use these EXACT color codes LOL .You're welcome(now I hope we change back to Kelly green) and BTW who does the NFL think they are when a team can't change their colors??? WHY does the team owner need permission? What is the new WUSS logo? HAHAHA Should be a big L in a cavern for "caving losers"

Giants decline Daniel Jones 5th year option.

"It’s hard to win one game,” Ballard said. "Sometimes I think  people forget that. Like just winning one game on Sunday is hard. And then to win enough to get into the playoffs and make a real push is very difficult. So everybody’s gotta be paddling in the same direction and working together to get that done. And it doesn’t take much to get the boat off course if you don’t have that happening in your building.”

Pretty good quote from Colts GM that is right along the lines of what I believe and have tried to get across.

He could possibly become a decent future backup to Hurts.

All teams say the same thing,it's on a loop. No thanks,I can find/ draft a BU on the cheap

You guys were joking about picking up a USFL punter?

The guy from TB just hit a 77 yarder.

I wouldn't be surprised if Strong turns out to be really good.

I agree... it was very hard for Detroit, the Jets, ...and the Giants, Washington and the Saints to win last year... Denver and Atlanta too.  And Carolina without CMC.  I totally agree.

The idea though...it's 3 years since the Eagles have a win over a decent team.  Decent on the NFL level.... that's pretty much what the rest of us have tried to get across.

Winning and success is relative.   Context matters.   It is what it is. We have Kelce, Cox and some players who we expect to play at the level to be able to beat bad NFL teams.   We know that already.

Punters are everywhere... it's what I've been saying.  They come out of nowhere, just need to bring them in and hope one sticks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Strong is an Eagle longer than Hurts.

The scare of the knee injury honestly the only thing dude has first round talent as a passer.

Can’t say it is all that shocking Strong looked comfortable calling plays they gave him a ton of freedom at the LoS letting him call plays based on what he read on the D in college.

Love those QB types. They are on the field and(hopefully) can spot weaknesses. Yeah you get camera shots every play, but the QB can look at a guys eyes and think"We're wearing this DT guy out and I'm going after him" and calls a gap running play right at him. Overheads are great, but the QB can read people much better on the field(Peyton Manning/Bret Favre/Drew Brees has this talent). Our O line is good,so hopefully once healed that knee won't be an issue. Like this kid alot
