Yes because the ground game was working lol oh right it wasn’t. Simple concept when your down you have to throw and your QB can’t throw you O struggles.

Hurts was missing open guys left and right he’ll Smith was in 1 on 1 situations in the playoffs vs TB getting open and Hurts couldn’t get him the ball.
soooo yea definitely put more stock in Hurts being unable to pass as a bigger issue

Smith was also in one on one situations getting pressed and having issues getting open. They were blitzing a ton…so  you gotta do it quick.

No we didn’t what we established was we could beat losing teams that sucked but when we went against any decent team and had to pass we looked terrible

Our Wr room was Smitty and friends. They Pressed Smitty and we had problems.

The simple fact was watching this Eagles team was painful last year because Hurts couldn’t complete simple passes to help open up the offense when needed.

Once the ground game got shut down but better teams and we had to pass the team crumbled.

What we learned was Bowles, Arians and Brady are much more playoff experienced than Siri, Gannon and Hurts

What was most painful to me was watching our D give up 80 percent completion percentages to good QBs. Just no excuse for that. That’s a fireable offense to me.

Fox analyst Troy Aikman wasn’t impressed with Hurts and Philadelphia's performance.

"Those throws, they should be pretty simple completions,“ Aikman said during Sunday’s broadcast after another errant pass attempt from Hurts. ”They just haven’t been.”

clearly not the only one who seen Hurts as the problem

Yes like struggling to complete easy passes is a firebable offense to me.

I saw clear improvement with Jalen as a passer. I do think he has to continue improving still.

What we did was establish an identity. That being a ‘physical’ team. Huge Oline coming to run you over established a whole different mentality for us and them.

I answered that I actually have my doubts

Yes, nothing like a definitive "maybe"  Yet you call me "vague"

Aikmen always has been a huge Eagles supporter. Very unbiased opinion. He also raved about how great Dak is. I don’t see any huge gap between the two.

I think having doubts about a team that went on to win the whole thing speaks volumes

What round was Dak drafted in again? If there is no measurable difference we should not have spent a 2 pick

Best player all time went in sixth. With that logic why draft any player higher.

If you know what you're doing you don't need to(see UDFA Strong) And what % of round 6 QB's go on to be league leading? You pick out ONE exception over 2 decades LMAO

Strong is exactly what you have wanted. We’ll see how the kid does. I’m sticking with Hurts. Can’t wait for the preseason. I don’t want to root against Strong. I like him. But I think he’ll probably show all the flaws in you and No Mas logic. Should give you a much better appreciation for all that Hurts brings to the table. The QB1 job requires more than a strong arm.

The fact is we just don’t know. What we do know is he hasn’t won a single playoff game.

I want to see our pass rushers punish Wentz. I believe they will. Redskins Oline graded out better than ours last year. Got a good WR room. Solid TE. We’ll see if he can finally get that monkey off his back. Hold Hurts to the same standard. He has to win a playoff game.

I think we easily beat Seattle if Wentz doesn’t hold the ball so long to give Clowney the opportunity at the cheap shot. That was his best opportunity to date. How about that FL, is that what you wanted?

I’m not agreeing with you. Day two of the draft is what makes or breaks most drafts. Every year tons of talent on this day.

I’m pretty excited for this season. This team has some potential.

I think in 2017 Wentz was playing clearly at an MVP level.  Would have won a playoff game. But he got hurt. The team built a shrine in the locker room for Foles. Saw the whole team come together and unite behind a leader.

Jason Kelce was selected in the sixth. Antonio Brown. Marc Bulger. Matt Hasselback. Terrell Davis. Mark Rypien. Wilbert Montgomery.

I just read that Deshaun Watson was interviewed for four days by the league. I’m interested in what they decide to do. The criminal charges were dropped. Watson maintains he did nothing wrong. I believe in being innocent until proven guilty. So I’m not sure I believe the league should be able to give any punishment to him. It’s a fairly tricky situation. All the bad press isn’t good for the NFL brand. But if he isn’t proven guilty of anything I don’t see how the league can punish him. I could see if he reached a settlement instead of proven guilty. Then I believe they could act. I’m not even sure any of these women have any credibility.

Roob brought up the fact that Dean could wear the green dot helmet. He also would be the youngest defender to start since 1964. He’s only 21. That’s why I always point to day two of the draft being so crucial. This pick could be significant enough to change the path of the franchise. It’s just that huge potentially. He’s already learning the Mike and Will position roles. The guy can blitz. Great at dodging blockers. Fantastic in coverage. Smart. Experienced in big games. Really only question mark with him is size durability related. Just wow what a difference in our LB room. Cant remember being this excited about that position group. Been practically ignored for ages. Totally flipped the situation.

A few yrs ago 2 women said they saw Shady jerking in a parking lot. He was half the country away w/ over 100 people

Since Steichen took over:

And from that game on, the Eagles ranked seventh in scoring [28 points per game], 10th in yards per play [5.6], eighth in first downs [22 per game], first on 3rd down [49 percent] and even middle of the pack in passing efficiency [89.9 passer rating]. He's pretty darn good at it. Letting Steichen continue calling plays this year makes a ton of sense.

Best in the league on third down. To me that’s very significant. That’s when the pressure is on.

  • Author

Seventh in scoring. Hard for me to think that a 23 year old doing that can’t be enough going forward.
