That was a good team with blue collar guys who worked together as underdogs. No "stars" per se. They were scrappy fighters. One could argue this offense is better than 2017.I think it is myself so I will go with that premise. Only thing holding us back is the QB position. I would like to see Hurts pass more. He can still run on some plays because that's who he is. WR's get antsy when they don't get stats,at least most feel that way. Smith is the real deal and he can learn from Brown which will help him develop faster. I'm glad we finally paid attention to LB and CB. it was along time coming. S is still a concern, but we had too many holes to fill them all,but we made excellent gains this off season

They weren't underdogs though.. thru were the best team in the league all year...  #1 seed since the beginning.  They were only underdogs because of the backup QB playing and the fact he looked bad going into the playoffs.

Dude.... stop it.   We played 26 offensive linemen and 15 WRs. Both TEs missed games and all the RBs were out at different points, sometimes multiple.  You know it wasn't the typical 4 win squad with the vets that are on that team.  They had OC by committee....lol

Are you saying Siri is that much better than your boy Pedey?   Stop it.

Yeah we had injuries. But really what happened is our team was going downhill after the SB victory. You stop it! I was composing about the trajectory of the team since the SB. All those things you mentioned hurt….but we weren’t a good team in 2020. Some of the injuries were very predictable also. Did you think we were a SB contending team in 2020? We stunk. We improved quite a bit the first season after disaster. We had no money to bring anybody in either. We shackled our future for 2019 team and to achieve four wins in 2020. Terrible decision making. I would have started to rebuild and clear cap then. Sorry you just can’t seem to see it get that.

Well as I keep saying it's a GOAL to try to achieve. Some weeks you won't get there, other weeks you could go over, but I will set that as a team goal because I don't want them quitting or laying off after 17 points. With all the upgrades we made I don;t feel asking for 1 TD more over last year is asking WAY too much. We have the offense, now Hurts has to deliver

Actually you were b17ching about Hurts not achieving that.

‘99 Rams Greatest Show on Turf team scored 32 points a game. If we don’t field as good an offense as that…Hurts sucks.

7 more points a game over last year-WAAAAAAAAY to much to ask. Gotta lower that bar

VS the trash teams we played last year?" Yep

How many games did they win in 1998?    You keep harping on the 4 wins from 2020.... the whole 9 wins last year...but opponents didn't matter???  The QB gets credit for the 9 wins.... the coach is blamed for the losses.

The QB will get years to try out for the job.... the current Eagles front office will absolutely " tag " him because that's what they do...they have patience just like the fan base.

Clueless.

Wow Siri is giving up play calling our primary play caller will be our OC Steichen.

Not saying it is a bad thing but am shocked rare to see offensive minded HC give up play calling nowadays

I heard he did this starting at the Detroit game last season?

Seems the same debate's been going on for the last 200 pgs blaming Hurts and the O

What about the D?  There's been massive improvement there as well, Used to be 27 was the magic number to win games, but we didn't get off the field.

That was last yr however. I'm focusing on where the team is now and looking towards the future.

You are comparing offenses of 23 years ago to now? Seriously? That is funny........  That same offense against the Defenses today with the new rules would have scored 10 more points a game!

I remember you liking Strong. He grew on me. I was concerned about his injury history,so I wasn't fond of using a semi high pick, but WOW as a UDFA this could be the steal of the draft. I'm sure he has "something to prove" and glad we gave him the chance

Maybe we won't have to draft a QB next year. Maybe Strong will be the man if Hurts isn't?

He has all the attributes. I hope he is not another Bradford, with the knees, but we didn't even spend a pick on him,so even if he ends up a dud,not a real problem. I think at the very LEAST he can be a more than solid BU,but the potential is there to be a starter.

This could be a really tough call. if Hurts is not the guy and Strong cannot show us much while he recoups, then IDK. If that is the case I think we'd keep Strong on,let him recover fully if he can't this year, but draft a QB anyway next year. of course if Strong seems "Strong" I will take 1 of the round 1 picks and do what Howie did again and gain another 1 the following year. We filled alot of holes this draft if most pan out. Really S was the only "forgotten" hole. We can fix that next draft. Kelce seems excited to teach the new kid. if he works out,we have a good team going. All thats left for me is to get Sipos some competition in here, which we can do anytime

https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3045246/hunter-niswander  This guy is only 27. released by Dullaz in April with no stats for 2021. But he did rather well in 2020

Should be brought in for competition at the very least. Siposs was horrid after a promising start.

Scenario 1...Hurts  I the guy

Scenario 2 Hurts isn't

2A... the pick from the Saints combined with our own is enough to move up for a QB next draft

2A  those picks aren't enough.   In which case we have Hurts and Strong on the cheap next year.  We see what happens there.

There is absolutely zero rush to find out about Strong this year.  If we can pull another Saints trade again next year it sets up another situation where we can trade up if needed.  I absolutely think this is an option for Howie/Lurie.

While they always want a franchise QB,they have always kept their options open and invested in the position.  Financially it's the best option to keep both Hurts and Strong on the roster next year without investing anything major in QB.   We all know they use $$$ as a factor in roster decisions.  In a year where they could be losing Cox, Graham, Kelce etc... they may want to be patient again and reevaluate things at QB.

To me it means they aren't sold on Hurts, but they will not publicly say that.

It sounds like they need to redshirt Strong

Strong is so impressive with some of his throws. Just threading the needle into massive coverage on one leg.

NFL.com has the top 25 longest throws by air yardage. Baker Mayfield with the longest at 66. Starts out at 60. Basically been 25 throws since 2016 of 60 or more air yards league wide.

Completions?   Seems very low.  Although to be honest, we see all these bubble screens etc, not so surprising.

Then watched the 25 fastest guys with the ball in the hands. Didn’t realize Jonathan Taylor was one of the fastest players in the league. He’s on there like four times.

Yep. What I’ve been trying to say to you. How often do you throw it 60 yards anyway?
