Not the wurst of things really. Hurts clearly no Captain Checkdown. We run short screens for Smith and Goedert. But it really seems QB1 is looking downfield. Goedert, AJ and DeVonta he pretty well just goes for it. Or runs….instead of the checkdown i guess.

They on the downside facing a very superior team. So to beat a better team you either need them to overlook and the better team be off their game. Or need some lucky bounces. But really your strategy as you said is dumb for them. They can’t play conservative. They can’t just dink and dunk. Don’t even think Heinke that accurate. He’s really not a bad QB. But you gotta think about their coach. Riverboat Ron. Snyder going to have to sell. They basically seemed forced to hire Rivera….in the first place.

????  Who is facing a very superior team?

I mean, when you throw quick passes to WRs....you don't have time to " check down "  instead of reading stats...watch the game.

FL your whole statement is why your strategy stinks for them.

SO, with a non strong arm QB like Heineke,2 pretty good RB's one who is dangerous on the pitch or screen and a sol-d TE with a WR that can get YACS in midfield(see JJ), they're going to sit back and throw bombs all day? That's the worst strategy ever if you don't have the players to do it. So if h'es "not that accurate" why would he be throwing low percentage passes all game? "They are on the downside" because they have 3 good players are returning they didn't have before playing with a less than stellar but coherent QB?. They are 4-5 and still have a chance to make a wild card(with help) so they want to blow that opportunity to toss deep balls against the #1 interception team in the league. My plan that "stinks" is nothing compared to your truckload of rotting skunk carcass plan. "Yeah lets try and burn Slay,CJG and Bradberry, forget the running game, let's GO FOR IT". And we're simply going to let them burn us deep all game long. AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA(don't think so). Make sure they negate our pass rush, so the QB can wind up for those deep balls (GL with that also). Sometimes I worry about you. So let's wait and see who's right. I think we force them to take what we give them, how much we give them is the only question for me and I don't see us giving them deep balls at ANY time(they will take 1-3 shots) but testing Slay, CJG and Bradbery  bad things will happen, excellent strategy 🙂(not)

Hurts is actually tied for first on yards per attempt

Us and Phins at 8.6

Then it drops down considerably

Yes both are YAC's because both teams have the players to do it

know Hurts least favorite thing is to check down.

baloney. Goedert is having a nice season

I know and that's rather weird as he was drafted for that strength

Home team is already figured in as well as if playing in domes or outdoors. When there is a weather issue the other team has to play in it too,not just us. The rest of what you mentoned is accounted for, every match-up. Only time they cannot update is if something occurs IN GAME. I never mentioned records, those are in the PAST,the SOS is the FUTURE. Our preseason schedule was 2nd easiest, that has changed to a bit harder AFTER we beat the easy teams and the records accrue and change the metrics weekly

GB, I am a little confused at what you are talking about. I mentioned what oddsmakers use to predict the betting line. You are now talking about SOS in the future. Two different conversations.....

RIght he doesn't check down because those "check down" plays are the ones called, the "check down" is the #1 read. Dink and dunk as I have been saying all along. Goedert having a nice season as the "check down called play" Makes things alot easier for your QB

Why would you put up betting lines for past games? That is also a future"guess" I would think, same as SOS,it's a prediction for the future. After last weeks games both the odds and SOS were updated for the next weeks games

Washington plenty scary if they just let things fly. Chuck it deep and take a dive ….if nothing else.

Fourth down in their own 40….they probably go for it…or fake punt

A fake punt is going to happen. Question is when.....

Here's an idea. Pry Sean Payton out of retirement to coach in Indy, or for the Wuss.

AFCE looks really competitive now. We will see if the Bills can hold out atop the division without Allen. Jets playing good ball now. It's been a long time coming for them. Miami is on fire also.I believe the Fins are fully capable of winning the AFC. Fins/Eagles SB would be a great game!!!!

I did not hear Allen was out...?

https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/34994338        day to day from what I am seeing, but they really don't need for him to injure it again if it's not 100%. They will need him for the playoffs

I like Payton in Carolina also

For This weeks betting line, they used past SOS, not Future SOS... Again, I am not sure where you are going with this conversation. You are all over the place. I am talking about 1 thing: How odds makers predict the betting line for a specific week coming up. They use previous games they played (SOS), injuries, Weather and matchups. Probably others I forgot. I am not talking about future SOS as it has no bearing on this weeks game....

yes

The SOS and betting lines were reset AFTER the end of last weeks games for THIS weeks games(and the rest of the season which includes THIS weeks games). So the reset on Tuesday would be for the future(this weeks games)

By us?? I could see that,Siri is a chance taker, but IDK that we'd be behind enough to try it. Maybe the wuss could(as Ham stated) but that would be sheer desperation against one of the top D's in the league with bad odds for success.

In the MVP discussion BTW Tua should be in that group, also Tyreek Hill (if he's not)

Betting lines are updated every day until game day. SOS pretty much stays the same and is more week to week(as far as I have seen)

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/2023-nfl-mock-draft-20-three-qbs-in-the-top-five-picks/ar-AA13UNpe  This place has us taking Murphy also. He's been my pick from the start. They have us at pick 6. If NO keeps losing and that pick rises I feel we trade back to 6(from 4/5) getting another pick and still getting our guy.If we end up at 6 an excellent DE isn't a bad consolation. Be nice to get him and an extra pick if it works out that way

Sean Payton. if he decides to coach again I'm sure there will be many vying for his services. Carolina does make sense however. They will pick high and be in position to take a top QB. DJ Moore(my man crush) could certainly use a better QB. The Mayfield experiment hasn't worked in Carolina either. They will get a comp pick for Caff and probably for Robinson also. Their D isn't terrible, but not great either. Young players still on this squad. Getting Sean and adding a QB like Stroud would be nice. Their RB's are ok, not Caff to be sure, but a better O line would help them and their new QB. Pick up a GOOD TE(remember how pivotal Greg Olsen was for them?) and a WR or 2 and they have a nice foundation started for Sean to work with. Maybe he could even pry Taysom Hill away from NO who plays a multitude of roles as TE/QB. Use additional draft picks on the O line. I would think if he comes back they would be the front runner

Agree, but the SOS after last weeks games is set and used for this weeks point spread. This weeks point spread is in no way dependent on future SOS. That was the point I was trying to make. Future SOS is just a barometer for how all think teams will do in the W/L column at seasons end....

Caff was a trade, no? If so, no comp pick.....
