Starting RB at 8 versus Cox and Hargrave each at 15

Forget Cox and Hargrave.   You let them go.

Zeke at 90 mil…heck no. But Sanders won’t be in that neighborhood. So overpay is subjective somewhat. But I don’t see a huge market for Sanders.

Exactly. Who’s a starter and likely half as much?

Ham... you need to invest smart.   You can't over pay RB at this stage.

So you don’t like my guys I’m foreseeing? Explain

He was this staffs choice. Given the chances. They wanted him to succeed. Went backwards.

Always gotta be smart. Why I’m exactly stating I think the plan is the more moderate salary FA.

I think you miss the big picture.  You have too much nostalgia for this team.  It's a one shot deal.  You build from WR and TE...decide if you want to pay the QB.  If you do...paying moderate $$ to position you don't value isn't smart.

At Cox's age he isn't getting 15 especially if they can draft another Georgia DT  Jalen Carter?

I obviously disagree. The big picture is exactly why I see it hsppening

We’d be morons to not pay Hurts now.

Ham... stop comparing Sanders to Zeke...Cox or Hargrave.   That's not what makes a move smart.  You can keep that $$ to roll forward,  invest more in the lines.  Picks, players etc.  If you pay your QB... $8 mil to a mediocre RB is dumb.  I don't see Howie doing it.

This year he needs to be the bad guy.  Everyone has to go...otherwise you waste an opportunity to clear house and start over with your QB and his top 3 weapons.  All locked up for a while.

But yeah, Cox gotta go

But that is accurate for his market value.

That’s why I’m easily weeding through our FAs.

Edwards gotta be the big guy to consider throwing down on.

White? Whstever

Ok...  then be worse if you pay the RB 8 mil...when you don't even think he is a workhorse.

You know Rosie going to choke having to pay Edwards. He won’t ever do it.

But you practically have to

You don't know that for next year... but it's irrelevant...time to move on.

Edwards is that underdog story. But he’s our leader. Will be for years.

Need his something special though. But 8 mil cheap

What known proven starter coming at 8 mil?

8 mil for a RB not top level is dumb

Backup Dline make bank even. Why we’ve been paying Malik for years.

If you let him walk your forced to get a high pick stud at RB

No you aren't.  What happened in 2017.  What have the Patriots done for years.   SF has been a good running team... how much investing did they do at RB?   A nice committee is enough...especially if you think you have a $50 mil QB

Right now the 16th and 17th RBs make $5.75 and 5.25 million.    If I want a committee, no way I pay $8 mil.     Austin Eckler makes $6.25 mil.

Too many other needs to use that much cap for a position you can spend 4 mil total.

I'm already past that... I'm not paying what I think he can get as a free agent.  He can probably get $5 to 8 mil.   I don't think they value the RB position. But I would think they would prefer to draft a guy round 2... start over on 4 years of cheap RB.

I think you want confirmation that Sanders is this " special player "  you aren't thinking good business.  His talent ( if you think he has special level) doesn't translate into what wins for this team.  I think you know that.  $8 mil could be used for a few decent free agents at other spots... you could sign  two vets for half of that and get similar production. Maybe even different type skills.   Just not a good investment.

You can't force yourself into a bad contract  because of " you let him go what do you do"  that compounds things.  That's Alshon, DeSean and Malik all over again.    If you need to take a step back for a year to retool and reshape the cap in your favor... it's the smarter move and better for a young QB you want to have a long successful career.

I think you are in such a place with Hurts... you are afraid he fails that it means that's it.   Either lower the bar or force things for the short term.  No need for that.  If he is the guy, you can't hand cuff the roster long term.  If anything spend on OL to protect him early.

We saw the coaches favor Gainwell day one as their handpicked guy. But seen it steadily decline. Scott everybody underestimates.

How did we underestimate him(Scott) by re-signing him? How was Gainwell "hand picked"?

For the season, the Eagles have scored touchdowns on 71.4% of their trips to the red zone, which ranks fourth in the NFL. And they’re also scoring touchdowns 85.7% of the time when the reach a goal-to-go scenario, tied for fifth in the league. Both of those success rates are considerably higher than the league averages — 57.0% and 72.4%

Because we've had the 2nd easiest schedule thus far? Not real hard to score either when your D hands you a +16 TO ratio

I think they take a day three RB also. Stack the position.

OH, all we have are 2 day 3 round 7 picks, yeah lets load up in round 7!!! Stack those RB's with round 7 talent baby!!!!
