You let him walk then you have a hole. Feels like a third of our starters are FA.

Yes....that's why you retool.  Get the young QB started on the right foot with his new $$ and new roster that he is going to lead over the next decade.   Idk why you have this fear of doing it.  It actually helps your agenda of lowering the bar for him for a season.

We've seen this Eagles team over a few different eras now....hold on to players too long for various reasons.   Because they have been afraid to take a step backwards in order to take multiple steps forward.

Talk about keeping Cox and Hargrave ..and actually paying them.  Not smart.  Paying a RB top ten money to be part of a committee ....not smart.

It's been obvious this was a one year go for it season.  We needed to see how the QB would do with a legit team.  We have to pay him if he passed the test and retool.   Long term it's the smart move.  The next $$ and set up picks needs to go into the lines... especially since the receiving weapons are in place.

2 good drafts.... and really one could say 3 in a row if you came out of 2020 with your franchise game changer at QB.   Now isn't the time for bad decisions...just keep building it smartly.  You can set up a contender for a while.

He is a terrible HC. You said it yourself. Carr was fantastic last year. This year added the best WR in the land and fell off a cliff. The answer is obvious to me.

McDaniels they talk about his ways. Not good for a HC. Great as an OC under Bellicheat

So wouldn't a former OC get the offense going??? Even if he's a bad HC? Those talents are forgotten when you change teams?

I don’t care if Hurts "hogs” the TDs. Just score. Think last year we had anew staff come in. They picked Gainwell.

If you don't care, then WHY do you want to pay out mega bucks to RB's?? You make no sense at all. If your boy is going to ball hog, then 3 RBBC CHEAP RB's will do

Smart…maybe even near genius level with the x and o of the game.

Who is Lane?

Our RT????

They picked Gainwell.

Yes in round FIVE(a real impact selection lol)

Leading the league in rushing TDs. Probably just because of, how would FL say it?, that ball hog Hurts.

Yeah those +16 TO's putting the team many times at point blank range 2 more times a game doesn't help at all 🤣.I'm happy the O line gets the stats for Hurts and Sanders. I focus on keeping that line the best in the league and ANYONE can run through a Mack truck sized hole or gain a yard behind a bulldozer

First downs and leading the league in rushing TDs is a good thing, right?

IDK how about passing TD's? Isn't that what we wanted to see from him? Isn't that why we invested in AJ? Spent top draft capital for WR's? Been saying all along Hurts is a RB who can throw some, Why did we waste those moves just so Hurts can run the ball???

No.... I think you have an issue.  Just name a team whose OL you would prefer to have over the Eagles?   It's an easy concept.  Doesn't mean that the OL is perfect.. it's simply comparing it to their piers.

You should want the Eagles to win the SB.  It should be obvious that is the only reason Hurts would even be considered an MVP candidate....the obligatory QB on the best team reason...it's obviously not because of any numbers.

When it comes to playoffs ...let's see what happens with Hurts and Allen.

IDK maybe it's too simplified, but I see Allen as a QB who can run, and Hurts as a RB who can throw and while both run their offenses,it's fairly easy to see the difference in play style

We need a killer RB room

WHY if Hurts does 70% of the running?????

https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/phi/philadelphia-eagles     If you think I'm re-signing Scott for 84 yards in 8 games you're crazy. And he's not going to get any numbers because Hurts won't let him,so how do you price that??? In my view Sermon will take over the #2 spot, Gainwell may or may not stay. Now you have the choice of signing Sanders again or going to FA and grabbing someone else(such as Hunt for instance). I would be fine paying Hunt and Sermon for less than the cost of Sanders alone. Sanders can stay if it's on Howies terms, but Sanders won't dictate to Howie what he will pay. It's the O LINE and we have more work to do. Always RB's emerging from the shadows,it happens all the time,so like Joe let's see what happens when we hit post season because the better teams will shut down the run

You don't need a killer RB room.  Tom Brady, the Chiefs, Rams and any the teams over the last few decades.. other than Seattle... aren't winning because of RB.

It's nice for fantasy.  It's nice for 1975.  But it's not what has been winning in the modern era.    Invest that money in the lines or elsewhere..or save it.   All would be better investments

Don’t agree. Sure Tom Brady has managed well without RBs. Chiefs only won one. But had two RB committee actually. Invested pretty heavily actually. Rams took Akers 52nd

Watched the Niners give real threat and scares by running the ball and being physical. If FL boy at S holds on to the interception they are in the SB. Titans play against anybody on the back of Henry. Sure isn’t because if Tannehill.

But it amazes me how you get stuck in the only one way to win mentality. This get the best Qb and you can win it all mode. Yet ARod been that and hasn’t. Allen been that and hasn’t. Mahomes been that and just accomplished it once so far. I can’t really slide the scale for Brady. He’s been in most of them over that whole time period. Utilizing the greatest player of all time cheating just isn’t a real plan.

I like the think outside the box more. Everybody tries to do the QB thing. Just makes your team a lemming amongst the league. I prefer to zig when everybody else zags. I’ve been talking about what the Niners have been doing for years now. I see the benefits. Being a physical team in the Era of Finesse works. LBs are almost all smaller S sized players now. Plenty of specialist players now relied on also. I see an absolute advantage to going throwback physical pound you in the mouth football. These smaller LBs and pass rush specialist can’t holdup against this physical attack. Niners proved it to me. Niners still have lacked a QB. I’m not saying you don’t need one. But see how Niners went to SB with Kap running. Should have gone last year. Being a dominate physical team wears a D down as the game goes on also. The unseen tool that usually shows up in the last quarter by a guy being a step slow or not completing a tackle.

Now I don’t suggest a running physical team is the only way to win. But I do believe it’s a very viable option. Think it really fits our squad well also.

Chiefs took

Clyde Edwards Helaire in the first three drafts ago.

Took Kareem Hunt in the third the Mahomes draft.

Best friend to any QB is a strong running game to take pressure off.

  • Author

Best way to counter everybodies top QB strategy is to control the ball and keep it out of their hands.

  • Author

We’ve always invested in the trenches. Niners really stacked their lines nicely. Had their awesome Oline retire on them hurt. But we just watched Cincy in complete position to win it all doing pretty much the opposite.

  • Author

Everybody demanded you think the same and protect Burrow. Yet their strong WR added a WR high pick instead. It worked.

  • Author

I see us being extremely lethal by having Sanders and another top RB.

Easy to envision for me

Doesn’t have to be sanders.

  • Author

But two top RBs would really help us dominate.

  • Author

We can do ok just having ho hum tough runners that aren’t real gifted like Scott and Gainwell. But I can really see us creating real problems for teams with a committee RB situation that has two top guys. Or at least above average.

  • Author

No Mas you seem to kind of suggest committee like you just throw any guy in there. The way we are built two good guys sharing the workload would punish and control games

  • Author

We have the WR and TE. Our Oline excels at run blocking. Run blocking allows us to get physical with our opponent. Being proactive attacking instead of going backwards defending. Think it can really work for us.

  • Author

Not much money or enough draft picks to do everything going forward. So gotta make choices. Two strong RBs forming a committee is a real committee to control games. Plus one is out you still have one. Which we all know is needed.

  • Author

Let’s be clear, my thinking is, a RB committee of mediocrity means you don’t have a RB. A committee means you have multiple quality options. Maybe featuring different traits as well.
