Example ... Saints 4 wins... put them at the top of the group of teams with 4 wins because they had 9 losses where everyone had 8.      That's done now.

All those teams with 5 wins ,a lot of them have worse strength of schedule.  So if it's a tie with the Saints record wise, they pick ahead of the Saints.  Like I said...the pick can go from 5 to 11 with a Saints win over ATL....another team that sucks.

Pick some games for your office pool

Colts at Minnesota

Arizona at Denver

Raiders vs Patriots

Panthers vs Steelers

Atlanta at Saints

Jacksonville vs Dallas.

Pick those games.. while giving the Saints the win.   For every game you Pick the team on the right,  that's how far the draft pick drops from 5 ...obviously with a Saints win ( which has been my point, very key game vs a scrub team making his first NFL start on the road)

Btw...the other 5 win teams.   Green Bay plays the Rams

But Cleveland plays Baltimore.... before playing the Saints the next week.

You see now how in 2 weeks the pick can jump ...all the way to 14.

Of minor importance, and just FYI, next draft round 1 will only have 31 picks. so 2 round picks with 31 total is a tad better than 2 with 32. That will be 1 round 1 player who has to go into round 2. Not that there is a huge difference between 31/32,but the 32 pick would be the first round 2 pick instead of the final round 1 pick. I feel however it is only fair if that 32 player(first player chosen on day 2) gets round 1 benefits. it's not their fault there are only 31 picks. he should get round 1 pay and the 5th year option IMO

BTW, Wentz is back for the wuss and lost his job to Heinike

Oh the Eagles will want to beat the saints! They know that first pick belongs to them. To say they will not play them hard is silly if you ask me. To grab Possibly a 5th instead of a 10th pick would be incentive enough for the office and coaching staff......

If the Eagles have clinched #1 the game will mean a lot more to the FO than the players

https://www.nfl.com/news/dolphins-lose-2023-first-round-draft-pick-owner-stephen-ross-suspended-following   SO IDK if there will only be 31 round 1 picks or if they just moved everyone up a space

There are 32 slots in the first round.  Miami will forfeit their pick when it gets to their turn... as of now.. Giants pick 23rd... then Miami forfeit at 24.... Denver on the clock at 25.    And the 1st round finishes after the 32nd slot.

But yes 31 players will be chosen day 1.

You would be willing to put players at risk for a pick.    Which could easily already be outside of the top ten by the time the game is player?  I think you are missing this point.

Everything reset this week with everyone done the byes.    There isn't the extra loss that the Saints have had anymore...13 games for everyone.  So the tiebreakers are real now.   A 5th won for the Saints, can make the pick jump to 11.    The reason...it's no longer a 5 way tie at 4 wins but the Saints have the extra loss... everyone with 5 wins after next week will have 9 losses.  Then the strength of schedule takes over... this is where the  Saints drop.  Big time.

First, most coaches do not like to sit their players for more than one week (Let alone 3!)as they need to keep sharp. Some coaches do not believe sitting players at all. If the eagles would clinch a Bye after week 16 I doubt the Coach would want to sit his players for 3 weeks. You can spin it any way you want. Yes you do not want to get players hurt. But you do not want them to lose their edge either. I am missing no point. When has any team sat their players for 3 weeks straight? I remember some doing it for two. I also remember some losing and ****ing about too much time off.

I doubt the Coach will want any of his players to sit around for 3 weeks straight. If he does we can easily lose the first round we play. I have seen it too many times with teams sitting just two weeks. My opinion. You feel different. I get it.

Some Fun Facts:

During the Seasons from 2014-2017 Teams playing after a Thursday night game with extra rest Record is 64-72. Teams coming off a bye week - Record is 68-60. I wonder what it would be for two weeks. What about 3 Weeks?

It sure does not seem to help after bye weeks......

I'm sure there's a fine line between not enough rest and too mush rest

Have the Eagles signed a punter yet or tare they just not planning on punting against the Bears

LOL, Elliott only punted once so maybe they won't need one!

Asg, if any player is dealing with a nagging injury, I say rest him. That makes sense. But to sit the whole first string for 3 weeks will be bad news

Not advocating they sit anyone for 3 weeks

I simply said if the Eagles have the #1 seed wapped up the game will mean much more to the FO than tp the players.

I agree...I don't think the players sit either.. I just don't think they play the whole game nor do I think they...for example...  run Hurts etc.

But I don't really care...the Eagles can win 50 to 0 that game.  The other 3 games and how one win vs those particular teams can change the pick...a lot.

But it absolutely changes the dynamic if the Eagles already clinch everything vs if they still need to win.    Idk... let's take a look...

2017... 13-2... playing Dallas the last week...what happened?

2004...13- 1  playing 2 scrub teams at the end...what happened?

I highly doubt anyone would argue that the Saints chances of winning would go up if the Eagles clinched the top seed???   That's basically the point.

And the bigger point... it's only one of 3 games, the other 3 are vs teams that are all 1 game ahead of them, but a bunch of those other teams will have tiebreaker to get ahead in the draft.

So do we make a move to find a patchwork S? No guarantees Blank or CJ will be available and Wallace is like not having anyone

Trade the Saints package for a rookie S.

I'm sorry,if you guys are happy winniing games 6-3 with all the offense we have, more power to you. I would not be happy with that if I was the FO

Absolutely be happy winning the SB 6-3. Hoist that Lombardi!

Once again that is W/L,really not related to the scoring potential you have. I can score 56 and lose 58-56,but my offense did it's job and now it's the D(aka points against)

Exactly, you’d be happy losing as long as we score 32…,something just wrong with your mentality here and you’re fighting it tooth and nail.

Noone said it was college,I am using extremes so you understand. If my standard is 32 PPG and I lose 85-32 every game, the offense has reached the goal I set. Obviously the D is crap, but has no bearing on the scoring potential of the offense. So with what we have invested,if you are thrilled with winning 6-3,I'm happy for you. But I doubt the FO would be

You do that(6-3) all the way through the SB then they throw a parade for you.
