But yeah, I’m still leery of the S situation. I feel you gotta have four S. Three on the field for Dime. Gannon was hamstrung a bit by trying to just ignore Dime packages. Feel it’s a fairly crucial D package in todays NFL. Two playing most all the time. So having a legit backup for two different S spots is just needed. But you also have the option of him backing up the slot.

Which NFL team do you feel has 4 quality safeties?

But then we get to the other major factor. Dallas busy paying their own great draft picks. You bash Rosie not signing his draft picks for several years there. So clearly if you don’t draft players worth resigning then you have to get more expensive players through FA. Then you gotta guess their fit converting from a different team. Dallas keeping their own guys are s known quantity.

So yes, Dallas doesn’t bring in FA like we do. To me that isn’t very positive at all. Mostly just bad for us.

So you acknowledge that the poor drafting and not the cap management of 2019 was the reason the Eagles did poorly.  I agree.

I mean you just said bringing in free agents isn't a positive.   So then having cap space to do so is irrelevant.   So cap management is irrelevant.   So couldn't be cap management that was ever a problem...right?   Because what did that prevent the Eagles from doing...signing free agents, which you just said...is " not very positive at all"

FINALLY.  Why does it take so long to acknowledge this obvious stuff?

Curious...Dallas has this roster that is way better than ours.   They just chose to let a top WR go because they think  TY Hilton is better??

So which roster position(s) do you feel Dallas is better than the Eagles?    Parsons.... and?????    I don't see it.

The goal of the GM is to put a better roster in place than the other teams.  I'm trying to see which GM did a better job in 2022 than our guy?

The Eagles had an issue with stopping the run after their top draft pick Davis got injured.

After the Washington game they made the moves to get 2 DTs.

Since then ... the opposing RBs have combined for 80 carries, 305 yards and 2 TDs.

Those RBs include Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon,  Jonathan Taylor,  Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley.

The Eagles have gone 4-0 in those games.    I would think that the GM should get credit for addressing the problem immediately and how that has clearly impacted the results in a positive way.

Now, after watching a ton of slop football around the NFL in 2022...  Eagles fans are going to complain about the 4th safety?   Really?

Oops, don't forget the punter... need that extra 5 feet to really make a huge difference.  Psychologically a team starting on their on 21 vs 22 & half yard line is night and day.  🤦‍♂️

Howie Roseman is the best Cap management GM in the NFL. This is obvious. Dallas does great in the draft. Their problem is the contracts they give out to their players. Siging Zeke to that huge contract and signing Dak the same year. It killed allot of moves that they could have done otherwise. They were forced to let Cooper and others leave because of bad Cap management. HR Works contracts to keep people. The problem the Eagles had was they did not draft well! This seems to have been fixed, so these contracts should not have to be redone moving forward... It may take awhile, but we seem to be on the right track. Another two solid drafts and we will see this disappear.

What needs to disappear?

Love this article.  " the Eagles could see an upgrade at punter"   ... listen to this reasoning...

The new guy ranked 19th last year in net average.   Our guy was 23rd before he got hurt.

Ok...that's logical...

But new guy had 40.5 yard net avg.  Our guy had 40.6.

But my favorite part...  new guy was 19th , but PFF had him ranked 14th.   Our guy was 23rd, but PFF had him ranked 31st?

Lol.  This is today's logic?   I can have a better net average than you.... but you can be ranked by PFF 17 spots higher?   🤔

So... let's say cap hit is exactly the same for all involved.

Would you rather have Hurts/ Sanders  or Dak/ Zeke?

This is going to be entertaining, because of the poster on here that talks up Sanders and Hurts.... yet he talks about how Dallas manages the cap better than the Eagles.

So which is it now... have to either say Dallas duo is better... or Dallas screwed up the contracts?

I read where both the new old guys said it was so good to be able to play fewer snaps between them. They understand they are not young anymore. They both said they can be more effective with this additional rest. great insight by Howie. I had mentioned this before when someone asked why did we get TWO. Overworking 1 old guy would just be another fiasco. I suspect upon Davis return we still use the additional  old guys

Other things go into rankings. One is % inside the 20. How many were blocked etc. Distance is not the only measurement. This year is not so bad because we are not backed up to where we need 55-60 yard booming kicks. When we DO punt we are usually closer now because the offense has penetrated the opponents 50. This will decrease your punt distance average(so would windy stadiums) but allow you greater accuracy to drop one inside the 20.

The same three Eagles continue to lead Pro Bowl fan voting at their respective positions in the NFC: QB: Jalen Hurts 😄 Jason Kelce DT: Javon Hargrave

You can see where it has helped Cox as well.   He was playing too many snaps.

So how are judging..like gymnastics, a total opinion?

Wind was 4mph... temperature was 45 degrees... ball was on the 35 yard line.   I'm curious here as to how these things factor into the E= mc2 formula.  Idk... to me, dude punts a ball, the other team has 1st down after the play.  Where that starting point is pretty much what counts.

If I punt a ball and the opponent starts on the 19.   You punt it into the endzone... how much bonus do I get in the formula... in real life it's 1 yard, not much of a factor IMO.

Actually I think our safeties - and basically all around - need to be coached on how to tackle better. Both our safety injuries are due to making those brutal hits instead of wrapping up, which is harder but lead to more injuries. Love those awesome hits, better to be available

I really don't get why teams don't invest in having rugby coaches come in and coach how to tackle properly. Wrap the guy up and bring him down. You can still try to strip the ball with good technique.

As for Parsons, as a PSU alum wanted him in the draft, that is not how an alum should act

We've had Navy seals, know nothing about rugby

Nice way to keep things patched while we get new guys

Don't get me wrong, I'm old school and love a vicious hit, but when you're risking getting injured maybe you should just learn to tackle. The game's heading that way anyway, along w/ towels up the butt.

Cox made a few nice plays yet PFF gave him really low rankings

I'm sure some is guesswork, like is he a little sick today? Those things don't make news. IDk that you want punts to go into the EZ. You want it on the 1 yard line

Boyz thinking they can run JP a whole game? They have probs at both RT and LT - pretty good team but they're toast, t-shirt material
