I'm sure some is guesswork, like is he a little sick today? Those things don't make news. IDk that you want punts to go into the EZ. You want it on the 1 yard line

Sure but inside the 20 baby....that 19 yard line makes a difference in the " inside the 20 category.

As for Parsons, as a PSU alum wanted him in the draft, that is not how an alum should act

What did Parsons do?

Thinking one plan would be pulling the proven thing and grabbing a proven secondary for the late 1 and signing long term. HR's record there is so f'n bad, but he has changed and is listening to others. Yet again keeping the lines built has worked

Parsons is abs great, we just took him out of the game. Goedert will be back which will really help us. Parsons comes in, dump over him. They can't double cover if we keep too many O weapons on the field. Many teams try to block him - don't! Let him out in no mans' land

Which NFL team do you feel has 4 quality safeties?

I’d have to look through everybodies rosters in detail. I have good familiarity with many of the players throughout the league. But clearly not rattling off every other teams complete roster like I can the Eagles. Heck even our team throws guys at me at times. Who’s that new guy on ST we brought up, zEllis or something? ST were terrible and we made a clear move to fix our coverage. He was the answer. Whoever he is he really has turned out to be the answer. Seems like every game now he is right there to either make the stop or forcing a fair catch. But obviously I’d point to the team that took the S I coveted in my 19th pick trade back scenario, Cincy. Niners got rid of Tartt because they had five guys better than him. But I can’t give the most educated answer on this league wide. Just way too much research involved. Gotta dig through 31 teams depth charts at S. But that’s not even enough. Because you have a team situation like the Saints. Have three maybe four good S. But also had two or three slot DB that had some S versatility. Hence them trading Ceedy Duce to us. They called him Nickle Cb though. We call him All Pro S. One guys Slot Corner is another’s guys elite S. But think just off the top of my head pulling out this much should be enough to prove it isn’t some impossible thought. 5 DBs is today’s base D.

Are you seriously looking for a team w/ 4 great safeties? Carry 3 of each and some cross trained, esp if you're going to go line heavy. Personally I believe they should expand the the 53 but hey - it's only those guys putting their lives on the line for our entertainment

DCs love players with versatility. We tried Maddox at S. At outside corner. Now Slot Corner. Tried to train Scott as backup Slot/S. Turns out he hasn’t done either well. But we’ve been desperate. The gaping hole in the S room we’ve tried everything to fix because it wasn’t addressed properly all along. Bright back Harris, who already played here one season….a season proven to be too long. So bringing him back ….was frankly terrible. Players respect him. He’s accomplished good things in the league. Knows the D. But was always a liability. Brought him back. Then brought in Tartt. Harris and Tartt belong on the street as emergency options. Their current ceiling. Like bringing in Harris makes sense now. S room was light…so hit the street and bring in a guy that at least knows the D. Good move….to cover a bad situation.

JP was a LB, I have his jersey, now we have to beat him w/ a little speed - that and he's old - kinda sucks

Great is too strong. Good. Gotta have three good S. Seems mandatory to me. Dime package. Gotta have that. Ours sucked and we still had Gannon forced to play it at times knowing our Dime sucked with Wallace. That’s how crucial the Dime is. When you really hate to use it but still have to. Should tell you plenty. We went through TC with Epps as the plan. Forced to trade for Ceedy Duce because of the complete lack of any realistic plan in that room. Terrible! Found Blankenship from nowhere. Both those guys worked out this year. But Blankenship should have been that good fourth S option. You know like practically developing and promoting a PS player. I saw something in his play in TC. Wanted him to make the team over the crappy retread old vet S options. Glad he did. But let’s face it….it was practically a no brainer for him to make the 53 because the S room was empty. Any normal situation he would have started on the PS. We all know this is true.

Had to laugh Slay saying he wanted to be a WR for a week so he can grab a catch from Hurts. Always thought opposites in football attract. Read a good article about Siri demanding coordination amongst the diff sides - it works

Just get healthy

Parsons has a mouth - maybe someone should shut it up?

Step up Lane.

Mailata seems too nice, Graham could do it, Lane?

I think they really expanded the rosters through the PS. Smart money move on their part. Bigger PS and allowed to dip in there more than the old days. Plus if you expand rosters more you limit available talent league wide. That’s a real issue. PS players can be poached. So I think I prefer this method. Look at last years squad. How many DBs did we have on our 53 roster that weren’t going to suit up? We kept players there to protect but weren’t going to use. Had them but were dressing and elevating PS players on Gameday. So I’d see that happening too much. Just stashing developmental players on the roster that won’t play. At 53 most teams already are doing this anyway. So sadly that’s all I see happening is hoarding more talent that isn’t planned on being used. So I’m very much in favor of keeping it at where it’s at. Then teams get ravaged at one position group have some kind of option at least so the level of play doesn’t completely fall off. Already see teams get ravaged at one position with injury having to dip into the Senior citizen retired players. I’m on the side of trying to have somewhat decent players as options available. Makes the game better. I mean I could even be on the side of arguing to up the level of play by them not doing the expansion of teams like they did. 28 teams with 53 men rosters equals higher quality of football to watch to me. I’m pretty old school obviously. I’m sure they’re heading the other way and will add more teams instead. To me it just waters things down. Oh whatever, I’m just composing now, I’m obviously addicted to the NFL so just nitpicking I guess.

It's gonna be an NFCE beat em up. Peeps up here in NE don't understand how the NFCE beats each other up so much that we haven't had a repeat winner in 17 yrs. NE had no competition in 12 yrs, Hand any team 6 auto wins and yeah - they'll win.

I like how Slay understands and utilizes is celebrity to back his own teammates. Let’s face it, Hurts had an uphill climb big time to ever have a chance to win MVP. ARod, Brady, Mahomes, Allen….if it’s close he isn’t beating those guys. That’s why I knew it was early pumping Hurts for MVP like I was suggesting. But he really needed a campaign to even out the celebrity levels. I mean, how does Hurts beat out Mahomes for that award?

LOL well the stat guys have to pick some point and the 50 was taken(for the team logo lol). The theory(used to be) since teams(used to) start at the 20 on touchbacks anything LESS meant the other team had to work harder. So the 19 would be 1 more yard to go. The goal of the return guys is to get it past the 20

Saw this today. If the season ended right now all NFCE teams would make the playoffs

So you acknowledge that the poor drafting and not the cap management of 2019 was the reason the Eagles did poorly.  I agree.

I mean you just said bringing in free agents isn't a positive.   So then having cap space to do so is irrelevant.   So cap management is irrelevant.   So couldn't be cap management that was ever a problem...right?   Because what did that prevent the Eagles from doing...signing free agents, which you just said...is " not very positive at all"

FINALLY.  Why does it take so long to acknowledge this obvious stuff?

No. I saw both drag us from SB champ down to 4 wins in 2020. I was the only one not caught up in the SB glow enough to complain. We signed FA but forced to not get the right guys. What was the Dead Money in our SB winning season? In a rolling cap league this is where you start to understand the cap management hampering things going forward. On one hand we finally got a SB. So you gotta take that. But your failure to understand how much that shortened or narrowed our Championship Window is where I try to get past your blinders. I’d even give us that 2018 we still had a legit shot as a contender. But you are using that hey, we brought in FAs so our cap management was great. I’m saying no. We were hamstrung by dead money. Hamstrung by Rosie backloaded contracts. So we were relying on acquiring FAs solely on spending future cap dollars. Even those were so limited. So we lost talent. Tried to replace it with..,,I’m not going as far as cheap….but much cheaper…less ideal….twilight vet options. DJax, Malik and Wallace types. Guys that had already played their NFL roles. So we overpaid…used up players. Sounds great that we could afford to overpay to make your point. But it isn’t. We couldn’t sign the obvious upper options. So the best we could do was overpay old twilight players. So you say we had great cap management by signing FA. I sat we lost talent and had poor cap management….as far as keeping any kind of Championship Window open. Not complaining about our SB. Just pointing out what I feel is extremely obvious. 2017 we had plenty of dead cap and a great team. Team clearly steadily went down hill. I was at each moment pointing this out all along the way. Obvious conclusion. Dead cap in 2017 then forced to spend 2020-2021-2023 money to try and stay there in 2019-2020. But even doing that the decline was obvious because the future cap dollars were even too limited. 2019, 2020 and 2021 struggle to add talent via spending money was the obvious result. Had to get all the way to 2022 to add real money guys…but not on 2022 cap dollars even. Took all those years to open up 2022 possible additions with 2025 cap dollars. See how far out this all reaches? To me that is clear cap management issues. We look fantastic again like 2017. But this contract life cycle is on repeat and inevitable. I see us losing talent again after this year….like 2017. Best we can do is try and keep SOME good players. Don’t see us making big splashes in FA this offseason either. Championship Window is as narrow as it gets this way. Rinse and repeat. Maybe after you see this cycle repeat again and again…well and again you start to understand what’s really going on. Drafting poorly and not resigning our own guys as much clearly opens up some cap money to sign somebody. Gotta pay somebody. Hate you make me say something like this…but now we have a good team and will pay a Franchise QB..,,do you expect us to pretty much be limited to sign our own players like dallas(yeah that comparison part makes me throw up a little in my mouth)? Or do you see us being able to keep all these talented FA players we have and still add FAs from outside? I know the answer is obvious. But we’ll see if you finally answer instead of always dodging the questions because you know your point has been utterly destroyed. You falsely claim I dodge answering. Pure Red Herring. You just keep trying to make me answer the same questions I already answered. You are the master dodger. So man up and answer the question if you are the man you say you are. I’ll open minded listen to your response and judge from there.

You don't think players see when the cap is expanded and want more? I don't see why the 53 can't be expanded. What team hasn't been affected by injuries?
