Welp we differ a bit because I would like to have the experience here. Gainwell is a spot use back,Scott is at times not effective,so if they need replaced I would like to have a solid back already here who knows the nuances of our system. So,for that I feel what I quoted as "my number" is fair. He said he would like to stay,so I say give him a fair wage and I don't feel that is overpaying. Maybe you do,that is your opinion. I'll just wait and see what Howie does.

I also think Hurts is comfortable with Sanders. There needs to be a little chemistry there also. Not as much as WR's, but timing of the hand offs. They have played well together thus far,I see no reason to break up the RB room as of now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it

I also don't feel another team would pay much more than what my offer would be,if you do then you should expect a 3 down back and Sanders is not that in my view. He can roll 3 downs in stall ball in the 4th, but he's not a 3 down back all game and if I'm paying out 8 million or more I would expect 3 down production(as the post shows). So my 5-6 mil would seem fair to me. He hasn't made "big money" for 4 years. Last year wasn't good stat wise, this year is,so weighing both the good and bad year that is what I would pay. I'm not basing it off this season alone. But it's not my choice what to pay, merely stating what I would pay based on all the evidence. And we know "imports" sometimes fail(see LeVon Bell),so that being said, there is something to say about consistency. I feel it's a good enough offer to keep him here

No disrespect at all….just a legit question: Why do you need/want credit for being right or wrong about something concerning the Eagles? They don’t pay you to be right or wrong, do they? I’m not saying you did or didn’t "call” it. I just want to know why it is SO important for you to get credit for something. Please help me understand this.

Best post ever on here

I'll sign a vet...like in 2017... we went until May / June with Smallwood and Sproles... I don't need the RB on the roster in March...I certainly don't need to overpay.   And as far as system??  You see anything complicated about our offense?

And we didn't get far. This room works, lets keep it intact Sanders is cheap if he wants another go. I'm not going to "cheap out" On a RB that has the system down for a few dollars. Like I said,if if ain;t broke don;t fix it 4 years 20-24mol

We won a Superbowl,  can't get much further than that.....that room worked

Sanders is a vet as I recall. Why mess with what works to save a small amount of money? 1-2 million difference is nothing. Seems pointless to just cheap out and pinch pennies when you are a contender. I will stick by my assessment

I'm not looking to save 1 or 2 million... I'm looking to save way more than that

If I'm Sanders agent...being it's a RB which has a short lifespan... looking at the RB market... I would try for $10 mil a year.  He should get $7 or 8... being it's the first real money he will make, I don't assume any discount to sign here.   Those discounts should come with a 3rd contract.

2022 stats...

8 out of the top 20 rushing leaders made the playoffs... with the top 3 all missing.   5 out of the top 10.

8 out of the top 9 receiving leaders made the playoffs with the exception of Adams who was 3rd

9 out of your top 10 passing leaders made the playoffs except Goff who was 6th.

The NFL is a passing league.   Rushing is still key though... as a team.  Not so much the individual RB.   You can look and find many quality RBs for under $2 mil, even a ton under $1 mil.    The position is easily the most fluid from year to year with plenty of guys being day 3 of the draft acquisitions.

Then assuming Sanders will be gone,we should indeed draft a high quality RB in the draft-for the next base(as we did Sanders) and add around that. I don't see Scott or Gainwell becoming the lead RB.  They are fine as situational RB's.Scott will be a perennial keep because he will work cheap,Gainwell can't pull the weight. Bad part is we don't have enough draft picks this year(although they are high, they are few) to get one without losing another position. Too early to panic,we'll see what Howie does in the off season. We should be letting alot walk and getting some more in in FA. I still would like to see Sermon in action. Hard to know what we have there. He was "adequate" at OSU and that was a passing offense as well. Still,I make my offer to Sanders and let him turn it down

Correct...as I said we went into May/ June with just Sproles and Smallwood and won a Superbowl.    I'm good adding some day 3 guys.. and get that vet on the cheap... the one that realizes this is a great spot for a RB.   That's where the discount comes in.   I'm not expecting the picks to stay whee they are either...so we shall see.

Yeah anyway doesn't matter how we value Sanders,it's how Howie does LOL

And Lurie...I think he has a lot of influence.  Especially when it comes to philosophy on " positions "

$7.2 for 2 years...  that's even worse of a cap hit if it's only 2 years.  Makes the least amount of sense... the longer the deal the better...both on the cap and if they decided to release him early it creates less dead money.

You get all the checks...the only checks I'm concerned about have $$$ attached to it.

My check I’m most concerned with has a ring attached. Talk the glorious 13-1. But I’ve been looking at what really will define this years team.

I agree here. I also think it should be noted how little Hurts checks down to a Rb.

Arguably Hurts least favorite passing weapon.

He wasn’t used to throwing over the middle and having the stud TE.
