No... it's completely different thing certain types... if you are interested in a real conversation some time we can talk about it.  

The signing of a new player/ contract... the signing bonus and the high salary last year is the way to help the cap.  When you cut a guy after 4 years of a 5 year contract and it creates some dead money but saves a lot on the cap... it's smart in most cases compared if the contact was done even each year.

The dead money here just locks in Dak and Lawrence longer...same where we are with Lane and Graham and Slay.

The point is, they need to borrow to pay these guys... you know Diggs and Parsons are so hyped up, that they will get way more than Bradberry and Reddick.  How do you not pay Pollard after having Zeke make all that money playing with him? 

Jerry is going to have to pay up big time.  He doesn't jump ahead and it's going to cost him.  As usual.

One of the morning shows said something interesting about jerruh. He's old and wants another SB win but time's running out, so he builds teams for now instead of over several yrs.

I didn't really look at Slays contract before... there is room there to extend him in order to save money.

He has a $17 mil salary next year... then voided out.  That's no guarantee for future earnings.   He is 32 years old... not sure how much money he will command in 2024 and further at his age.   You can use the $17 mil as leverage.   Give him that in a signing bonus and have him make a decent salary the next 2 years.  If he likes t here,that will guarantee him some $$ and get him some extra $$ while remaining in a place he likes.   Use that $$ to help sign some guys.  Without creating major dead money down the road.

Lane is the only other guy we could use to create cap space...but numbers don't seem to work as well.

The salary cap hurt him... you just know he would be overpaying for everyone if he could.

I'll offer this observation... when I was there vs Tampa in frigid weather 2003... the longer TV time outs and more of them during the title game... took the crowd out of it a little.   Idk the cold helps at all.  SF is actually built like a cold weather team. I prefer Hurts to throw the ball in as good of weather as possible.

Turner ran a 4.28-40 so the speed is there. Better yet is what I look for, a 6.29 cone drill. This shows me he has the agility needed to change direction. Flat out speed is great,but this is an attribute I look for
