RB at 31 although IMO Bijan doesn't last that long, but apparently they don't see Sanders staying here either

Right,as I said we just disagree when to do that. IMO that is not in the 3rd with a 10 point lead. We have seen teams come back many times even from 28 down and although that is a rarity it's still possible.I'm fine with ball stalling  in the 4th with a decent lead, just not in the early 3rd, that is where we disagree. I don't want any team having the opportunity for a comeback

Yea.  Imo it's not in the 3rd with a 10 point lead either.  This year, especially early...we had 3 and 4 score leads... I'm ok not rushing to snap the ball in the 3rd quarter.  Again... I don't think it affects the outcome of the play if we take our time during this process

Again... it's not results for me...it's the process.  I'm ok being up 24 points, having a 7:30 minute 3rd quarter drive... the fact the FG was blocked had nothing to do with " ball stall".

We disagree.  And yes I use examples where Baltimore lost to Miami and Chargers lost in playoffs  because they failed to shorten the game.   And I use the Eagles as an example because EVERY WIN....EVERY ONE...except the comeback in Indy...they successfully prevented the opponent from putting their offense on the field with an opportunity to win or tie.   A 35 yard desperate pass that gets picked off near the goal line vs Houston, approaching the 2 minute warning up 12... is not close to me.  They forced Houston to make rush and make the desperate stupid play thst had no chance.

It is what it is... given the opportunity vs SF...I hope they handle it exactly like the previous 14 wins giving SF no chance to be on the field to win or tie.

I've seen us lose so many close games in the Andy era. .and even Chip... by rushing plays or throwing incomplete passes instead of running the ball or checking down to easier pass.  Or punting with 15-20 seconds left on the play clock.   Little dumb things that add up to giving the opponent extra minutes and a lot of extra plays...where if they didn't have them... they wouldn't have had the chance to beat us.

I remember a game we lost to Tampa on a 60 plus yard FG.   We had a 17 point lead with the ball under 40 seconds left in 3rd quarter inside their 35.  Should have been a run, and next play would start the 4th quarter.   Proper game management.

Instead, an interception... they came back to win at the buzzer.   In that instance....starting in the 3rd Q. Three runs and a FG...gives you 20 point lead with about 13 minutes left.  That's worst case scenario...get a 1st down take off 2 more minutes.

You force them to score 3 TDs in a quarter.   They need to rush and if you get one first down yourself, game over.

Years of watching this dumb stuff, I apologize if it annoyed me so much that I really like limiting the opponent's possessions.

Bottom line... I get to a point in the game where I have a 9 point lead and the opponent doesn't get their offense on the field at the end... they can't win.

It's a math equation for me..  40 seconds = one play.  900 seconds in the 4th quarter.  23 plays.  I get a first down...that's 3 of those plays.  Take away plays from the opponent.  They can't win.

Our power went out at 4 AM after 6 hours i broke down anf pulled the generator out of the garage.

Before i could get it plugged in the damn power came back on.  I guess i should have pulled it out 2 hours ago

IDK I don't keep track of the records on being right. but I know roughly the players that will be around when we pick. Gibbs may be one of them and if Sanders isn't staying,I would have to take look at having a top prospect in my stable for the next 5 years(at which point we will face the same thing we have with Sanders)

I wouldn't hate it with the late first rounder....but I would prefer waiting.   Again...it's a luxury to me.  Too many other needs. Rather have the other needs locked up for the extra 5th year.

I would even be fine with the ball stall in the 3rd as long as we scored at the end of that, but many times we don't and thats not good for me. Even a FG would be fine, but let's not pretend teams haven't blown leads all year

They have...if you look at it...they hold the ball for 50 seconds,  incomplete passes... and give the opponent the chance to come back.

Again...the " scoring " is a separate issue.    You have a lead... you hold the ball for 6 minutes miss a FG.   You hold it for 50 seconds...miss the FG...how is the second one better. And how does the time you held the ball change the missed FG?  It doesn't....two separate things. So why rush the offense?  Why rush kicking and punting when you can bring the clock down.   Those plays add up to extra minutes..and possessions for the other team....like plural.

Teams can score 2 TDs in 3 minutes...why give them those extra 3 minutes?

Let's be honest..it's pretty difficult to hold the ball for 6 to 8 minutes and not be in scoring position.   Executing the scoring play, whether FG or a TD pass at the end..  really has nothing to do with the time of possession.

If I have a 3 score lead and I don't score... yeah,I think it's better that I  just took time off the clock than if I didn't score and didn't eat up clock either.

Look at these comebacks ... you see the team that had the lead have like 4 drives that only used a combined 4 or 5 minutes.  Having one scoreless drive last 6 minutes or more... that's way better.   Now any clock you use on the next 3 drives puts the opponent in much more difficult position.

Basically in this comparison...it's 3 extra possessions. Baltimore scored 10 points... Chargers scored a FG. Indy scored a FG vs the Vikings too.

Do the math...it's great that you score...but even the 10 points from Baltimore late vs Miami... they gave Miami an opportunity to score 3 TDs.   That's minus 11.

Better off not scoring... and taking away 2 possessions... Baltimore would have had 10 less points...but Miami would have had 14-16 less points.

Simple math... why give the opponent a chance at all?

Again...agree to disagree and all that nice stuff.   Math doesn't lie... with this part there really isn't anything to disagree with.

Now we could say that it looks like a change in mindset and teams look like they start to choke just trying to kill clock.   That is another discussion.  And I agree with that.  The offense still needs to have the mindset of getting 10 yards on 3 plays...regardless of how they handle the time.

Yet you can’t see how that all effected snaps and yardage with our RB1?

The problem many times is the opponent knows what you are doing trying to kill the clock. So you become more predictable. Obviously you want to use the clock before snapping the ball. But this sends a signal to your thinking…and what you’re up to. Which makes it much more difficult to gain a first down. You need to run clock…but you can’t get overly conservative. Pedey is pretty great at this. He’s got balls…but plays it pretty smart.

Broncos down to Ryans or Shaw for theHC job.

I really think Shaw is a heck of a coach. He really impressed me. Be a nice distraction if DeMeco gets the job this week.

Doesn’t it always work out like that? Might be because you still have your Noob badge.

You go out and motivate to take care of something because of the storm…you get hit with the wind, rain and sleet….moment you get done it all let’s up.

I'm assuming you had a lot of ice accumulation?

The 49ers are 3-3 this season when surrendering 19 points or more, but when they surrender less than 19, they went 12-1.

Jerruh stated McCarthy is safe. However, he cancelled is show appearance. Something he does when big news is imminent. Rumor is he’s suiting Sean Payton. Would be terrible for us. No Mas believes the cowboys roster hasn’t been talented enough. Most of us realize their HC(s) have been the only hold up. Really hope he doesn’t make this happen. Unfortunately, I think it’s exactly what’s about to take place.

Championship Sunday

running backs will decide winner

For 26 years... I don't think it's been coaching.   And I think the current guy is way overrated as a coach " he won a Superbowl "  so did Barry Switzer.

But... simple question.  Which positions on the roster do you feel Dallas is better than SF or the Eagles?

You get past the flash at the RB position... the answer is nowhere... I mean unless you think Dak is better than Hurts?

Dallas may have the one big name..in a few spots.. but position groups... different story.

No shot.

RB's +1. They haven't played against anyone like Hurts. Plus Hurts will keep them honest with some downfield throws as they won't be able to cover everyone. Purdy's been a great story and they have some great weapons. Play them tight and we should get to some routes, esp w/ the pressure we'll bring
