No doubt. But all the legit WR are making those moves trying to bait the S. Good QBs try and get the S also. Think that’s one area Hurts can improve on. Maybe work those S a bit more.

The legit WR should have the CBs on them... in cover 2 the safety shouldn't be biting on the short route.. . Why do you think CGJ had those #s you didn't like?  It wasn't because he was pressing up on the 5 yard out.

And the constant how other teams are managing the cap better?   You see other teams constantly able to get players in like us?

It's great to have an all star backfield for fantasy football and highlights... the flash.  It's just not smart in winning.

Imagine you want to trade Lane and draft a top RB?    That's totally backwards!

I didn’t see us able to bring in much for two years. Then could last year. Now we trying to retain guys.

Way stuck I’m the past. Buddy Ryan came from a whole different era. Dime and Nickel weren’t being utilized 90 percent of the time. Didn’t you notice how having good DBs really gave the pass rush that extra time to get it done?

Again....who is looking to imitate the rest of the league here?  The league had a down year ...no doubt.   I noticed teams with good DLs ...made the final 4.    I notice this happens pretty much every year as compared to secondaries.

Not many teams had the same GM running things so long. He’s had that job security. Could have played it the longer term path. Everybody else trying to keep their jobs. Many recently took over for the other guy that screwed up.

I’m not disagreeing about the short moves. Guys hit those fakes deep also.

I noticed another trend even more specific. DE was all the rage. Still big. But DT has really been the biggest move. Guys inside disrupting pockets is the best most universal way.

Might be time to get his replacement. Not like it sucks to keep such a good Oline. But the guy has been dealing with mental issues. Some say pain pill problems. Father Time comes for all. His max left is three years. I don’t see him making that without another injury. Right now…he could bring some picks in trade wise.

Absolutely great time to get they guy to come here and learn for a couple years.   No doubt.  Just not the time to get rid of Lane. Just bad for your QB1.

I think QB1 deserves best protection.  He deserves respect.   We need to learn from not giving #5 and #11 all the tools.  Need to nurture and develop QB1 and give him everything.   Certainly not give Lane to a contender???   For what? A 3rd round pick?

Whole D works together. When the coverage is good the rush gets home. Huge part of why our sacks went so high this year.

Finally had good DBs. How many sacks and pressure did we get?

I thought we gave different by power running so well. Most seem to want to finesse these days. What I’ve seen the Niners do to keep giving everybody fits. Teams are setup more ready to play that Nickel. Aren’t ready for smash mouth as much. We hit them with those two TE that really hit them also.

Yeah...why Penny should be better fit power running than the dude in Carolina.

Kind of like watching the magician. You looking at the hand getting the sack. But the other hand made the tricks happen.

One year.  2021.     2020 Slay and Hargrave were pretty major moves right?

Who has Dallas brought in?

Power running is the Oline mostly. Saw how at the begging when Siri got here tried to pass pass pass. Oline run blocking gets going forward. Attacks the D. Dint have to Henry them for power rushing. That’s the Oline. But the RB is the difference in how bad you gash them.

Dude...it made it happen in the Superbowl?

You saw when the DL couldn't get there we were toast?   How can it not be obvious?

Even you were saying SF had our weakness..   obviously our DL put a stop to that?

What did Rosie get alley Hargrave for? Thought it was a really good deal. He had been labeled more a NT. Hadn’t been pass rushing like he did once we unleashed him.

Slay I actually was a bit miffed at. We’re looking to get him at the trade deadline the season before, remember? All our Corners got injured. But Rosie got a bit cheap and didn’t pull the trigger then.

  • Author

Don’t think we got him that much cheaper the next year.

Idk....what is everyone saying about the Superbowl?   " no sacks"  " no pass rush"      then we see us get lit up.

Idk..didn't see too many coverage sacks vs SF??? We got in there ASAP on a bunch of plays.

Some time the answer is the simple one right in front of you.  No need to overthink...or try to make it complicated just to try to make yourself look smart.  Our DL kicked ass this year....they couldn't get their footing in the SB and our DBs were exposed?  Certainly they weren't exposed by the elite KC WRs.

Was first day of free agency and he was a top guy.. 3 years 40 mil.   Was good cost at thr time.

See I don’t even think Gannon used our Secondary properly. I think he went real conservative. Many of more aggressive DC would have those top cover guys all up in their faces more. A bit passive for my tastes. Cover 3 type stuff a lot. Maybe a two deep on one side and one deep on the other. Or mixing up zone man. So you have both going on depending what side of the field. A bit tougher for QB to read. Because it’s not just Man or Zone across the board all the time.

Right...it was good $$.

Conservative means guys would be open early...so the DL would have to get their faster.   All year they collapsed pockets. Except for Superbowl.

But Siri has been on record saying he pretty much demands the D to play against giving up the big play. So that will force whoever DC hand. I prefer more aggressive. Let the D go make things happen more. Win games and wreck games.

Your boy CGJ was griping at Gannon for not having the DBs in any position to make plays.

What happens to that Dline of ours? Reddick had the cake matchup. It really failed. Hargrave didn’t get it done either.
