If you had the extra 54 mil of dead money….don’t think that would change any decisions here?

No not really still don’t think we bring Sanders back, we likely don’t pay for Lb because we never do not do we highly value S.

maybe it influences us resigning Hargrave but should we have? Over 30 year old DT mmmmm might not be the worse thing in the world we let him go

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay — who selected Richardson at No. 4 overall — declared that his new signal caller will start this season, at least at some point,

He should definitely start at some point when the Colts who are a bad team are eliminated from playoffs and have nothing to lose definitely turn it over to Richardson and let him make mistakes with no pressure….

Atleast that what I’d do I wouldn’t want my high draft pick to play in meaningful games behind that bad OL and with bad weapons on the outside just a recipe for failure for the guy

I’m sure that 54 mil wouldn’t be spent on chasing the Lombardi. Just let it rollover to next season because no need to add any better talent to the team.

There is a bunch of speculation about the Gannon and Cards contact. Many seem to think the league is forcing everything to be swept under the rug. Rosie isn’t talking. Was that league suggestion/mandated? It was said Gannon had a zoom conference right after the Niners game with Cards GM. Gannon denies it was a Zoom interview. Says it was only a phone call. One Philly media member reported Rosie was furious. How did Rosie find out or come across to bust Gannon out? Just so much more to consider with the SBbeing played in Arizona. Did Rosie find some evidence of them meeting in a restaurant? Seems like more to this story we’ll probably never hear the full truth about.

That media member was Marcus Hayes...don't take anything he writes as fact.

Definitely spend money like paying Slay and Bradberry and paying our QB oh wait we did that

Ham... yes or no... do the Eagles do a good job of managing cap space?   If not..who is better?  And who brings in more players?

On a side note... does Joel Embiid score enough?    And do you think Bill Russell should have won more championships?

So how did they get busted? You don’t think Rosie busted them? How could you not be pissed? Barely lost the SB. Gannon had arguably his worst performance.

Which team does a better job with the money?

Anyone can criticize from the couch...  I'm curious to hear specific methods that would be better?

The genius one from a few years ago was to make Ertz have a 30 mil cap hit year one...lol.

Anyway...32 teams, who has more cap space than the Eagles at the moment?

No Mas, yes or no…could this year’s team add more talent if we had the 54 dead cap dollars available instead?

Chiefs with all that non dead money sure let plenty of guys walk…. All that money they saved why didn’t they bring back there best WR from a year, cut one of the top pass rushers, didn’t resign there OT, let there S walk

Sure seems like teams make decisions on guys just because they CAN sign players don’t mean they want to

Doing that in 2028

Really not sure if there is a better GM at muniplating the cap then Howie…. Every year we hear a bout the bad cap space and how we can’t do anything and yet we always make moves

I don't really care.  I think it was exactly a phone call that Gannon took from a dude he knew before and talked to all the time.

It's ironic the rules... had Arizona initiated conversations with Gannon prior to the playoffs or whenever the initial deadline is....then the contact wouldn't have violated the rules.   The AZ guy took the job after the deadline... so a call to his friend Gannon in that specific situation was in violation....even if it was.." hey how is the wife doing"

I don't care...I'll take the pick swap.  Worked well for us.

They dropped their old Dline. Upgraded their T.

Downgraded S, LB, RB and Oline.

Great article I read not that long ago after simply googling " dead cap space NFL"    ... you guys were getting annoying not understanding that it's a tool used to open up cap space.  Very educational.

Example...   if you can cut a guy to open up cap space... and then replace that player with a better player who costs less than the difference... you better your team while creating more cap space.    It creates a " dead cap" number....but in reality it allows you to have more cap space to sign other guys.

This idea of ....54 mil of dead cap means they could have had 54 more mil to sign guys is just incorrect.   That's not how it works.

Is our RB downgraded I’d say we got equal value on a guy much cheaper. Huge difference is the team the guys played for not sure Sanders does better in Detroit then Swift

If we cut the young safety Wallace... it creates $176 k of dead cap space..  but we create over  million of cap space.

The uneducated person looks at it and thinks...well we could have $176 k of cap space to sign guys if there wasn't that dead money.   No....the dead cap is a tool used to create more space.

" but we are still paying guys ...etc"    because paying them up front takes away the cap space right away...and the cap carries forward...so the cap savings by not paying up front creates more cap space going forward... and that can be used to " pay those guys now "

Think about it... the time value of money.  $ 1 in cap space now is worth more than $1 in cap space a few years from now when the cap goes up.  Not a tough concept to see.

RB room is upgraded big time.

Who thinks Wallace and Sermon make the team...   just saying...if they get cut....that saves the Eagles 2.2 mil of cap space.

Possible trades.. we shall see.

The season starts in September....this idea of being angry now...how did that work last year?   Plenty of time to improve the roster.

Complaining now makes one look fairly uneducated.  To automatically say the Eagles downgraded at S and LB...without seeing the play on the field?    Very foolish.  Same with any other positions.

I mean....if anyone complained over and over again about Gannon...shouldn't that be a perceived upgrade there at DC?

Let's see how it plays out.

The big factor to me...is the schedule.  We have legit football this year...can't wait!

Yes we really took our SB winning team and upgraded that each year. 2018 was more talented than 2017. 2019 stocked full of more talent than the previous two years. 2020 was All Pro players at their peak up and down that roster. 2021 we added so many high priced FA. This year we lost more than we gained.
