I agree, but Ima laughing at the ZIggy Stardust lmao. I believe Howie is once again one step ahead of the game because RB's markets are falling and he saw that coming

Ok... so here is what I noticed when Howie came back.     Remember,  he took a year to go study successful teams in every sport.   At that time New England had dominated and sustained that domination like no other NFL team in the salary cap era.

At that point the Eagles didn't win a playoff game since 2008.   Shady was drafted 2009,didn't win crap with the high paid RB.

Since Howie came back, he unloaded Murray right away, Matthews finished his one year...then we went committee ever since.

The most successful era of the franchise.  The only era where we had players play in 2 Superbowls.

While Ham may want to do things differently... this is what has worked for the Eagles...and really every winning team the last 25 years or so...except Seattle with Beast mode.

There is a point where you need to put aside your personal preference and look to see what works.  Winning is the only thing that matters.  There are plenty of aspects thar are involved. But seeing how the common theme for almost 3 decades has been the committee at RB... don't change what works.

We would have dumped him off last year,or even this year. Seems to me he is like a Mailiata project. They see something they like so he is sticking around. He's cheap to keep, but apparently they see noone better as RB 5

Why would we dump anyone now?   You bring everyone to camp and then make the cuts afterwards.   No reason to make cuts now.

It's still possible he goes away. Someone could cut loose a better option. Have to wait and see

Still probable he gets cut.  But no reason to do it now.

Depends if another team makes a cut we can use. Not every team is going to keep the 90 they have now. There will be drops before the mandatory cuts

Like this supplemental draft coming up

No clue how your boy does. Maybe he peaked where he is??? Maybe he will be a pro bowler. Too soon to know yet you are already assuming he will make this team(and start) And while all that is possible,I live in the here and now. If gains is so bad why do we keep him here???? If he is easily replaced, why haven't we replaced him? I have no clue about Sermon,he hasn't played a snap. Although a starter will be named every game that has zero influence on how much each will play. I suspect the top 4 get snaps(Scott). So I can't "rank" them until the end of the year when the final stats come out. You're telling me Penny and Swift were not "value quality" RB's? IDK any team that assembled the talent we have at RB for the cost of ONE RB others pay for

Swift and Penny were brought in. Sermon was rostered needlessly for a whole season. Not sure we haven’t already brought in Gainwell’s replacement.

So since we all know..  or at least most of us.... that Gainwell will be here for 2 more years... I don't see us having any replacement for him already on this roster.   That would mean one of these RBs being here in 2025.  Possible for sure... anything is possible for the cheap contract.

Did Sermon or Brooks play in the SB???? Asking for a friend

Did Gainwell play well in the SB?

7 carries …21 yards. That’s 3 a pop. Against a middling run D behind the best Oline. Completely replaceable in my mind.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4371733/kenneth-gainwell  Here, click on the left for each guys stats, they are all here to see. perhaps we like Gainwell because he doesn't fumble(unlike our QB who gave up a free 6 to KC)? Instead of 1 1,000 yard rusher,we have 3-4 capable of getting 400. So who cares how you get the yardage or who gets it? I'm paying 4 guys CHEAPER than 1 1k yarder. Add to that the team with the 1k rusher gets hurt, or we shut them down, their running game STOPS. One of our goes down,we just increase the snaps for the other 3. which option sounds better to you for consistency throughout the season???? 1 guy for 1,000 yards,or 4 guys with 300 each? Do the math(4 x 300=1200 yards) NONE are Prima Donnas either,so check off that damn box too

I need at least one guy that can get the job done on a carry when it’s really needed. Not terribly concerned about season yardage numbers. Game on the line…opponent knows we are going to run…need guys that can deliver on that. Rushing for 100 yards in the fourth quarter of a blowout doesn’t really mean that much to me.

Yet Sanders was worse....plus dropping the ball twice...  and the play he is getting crucified for was the huge cut back lane that he missed to get one yard for the 1st down.

It's why when looking at committee... guys who can do the job for cheap.  Lock them under team control...and find the next one.

Right....very telling that the one guy was never Sanders.

Oh yeah…nobody could be more of a roster lock for two more seasons than our possible third string RB that’s totaled up 500 rushing yards in two seasons. How could you possibly even think of cutting such an elite talent. Only way Gainwell isn’t on our team would be because we accept the league wide bidding war winning trade offer of a free stadium hot dog and beer.

Seems to me Sermon/Scott would BU Penny, Gains/Swift could be equal snaps playing the one that is hot for that particular game. So we are carrying 5 EXPERIENCED RB's who can take up slack(although Sermon needs to play more meaningful snaps in my view if we are keeping him). if someone better cuts loose and they are cheap, you know Howie will go get them if it improves the room. let the coaches and staff make those decisions,it's why we pay them, then you can bash THEM at years end if you need to. I also suspect Penny and Swift are extremely happy they have this O line to run behind,I'm certain it's the best O line either has played behind and I also suspect we see numbers from both of them. With the Hurts run threat now ESTABLISHED and teams trying to defend that it opens up a plethora of options for all the RB's we have accumulated. if I was Penny,or Swift I would be more than thrilled to be able to "show what I got" behind the best O line in the league. Turn 'em loose and lets see what happens. As far as Gains, yep he has competition which makes everyone better as individuals,so I'm all for it. The best 2 start and that's the way it should be. If Swift is having a bad day,Gains can come in(or vice versa). I love it because teams have to scout FOUR RB's(maybe 5 with Sermon) for every game, not just ONE. We have perfected the "tush push",but now we also have the basher in Penny,so now they have to defend both those also. We're going to be a very hard team to defensively plan against

Swift is so much better than Gainwell. No competition there I see. Gainwell’s competition is Brooks, Scott, Sermon…any potential RB released on cutdown day. Gainwell isn’t a lead back. He’s fighting for a roster spot.

Again....take the head out of the @ss... and use common sense.   It's professional sports...there are contracts.  The team has control of all the contracts.... Gainwell is the only one who is under team control past this year.

It's not a difficult concept to get really.  Is it?  Idk...sometimes I feel you either ask really ignorant on purpose or maybe you just don't get it... idk.

I don't see " step up " as getting stats so much.  1000 yards,  i don't need that forced like it was last year to Sanders.  The year before they ran for way more yards as a team and more rushing TDs from the RB position.....when they had Howard.

We know the agenda last year during regular season....run the guy so he gets paid elsewhere and get the comp pick.

Stepping up... what happens in the bigger games.

But I agree with Ham....I like this Ojomo kid, I'd keep him on the roster over the 4th or 5th RB.... just I have Gainwell as the only one locked to be here next year.  That's using common sense that he is cheap and under contract.  None of the other guys are.   But Ham brings up the other point as to why he will be here... it seems the team likes him, putting him out on key plays since game 1.   So Ojomo over Sermon or Scott is the idea.

The agenda was lean on Sanders because he’s a legit lead back. Much better plan than turning to the third string roster bubble level other options.

I see Gainwell,  Penny, Swift for this year...  I assume Scott gets kept too unless a trade.

Next year Gainwell... probably a draft pick...and then we see how the rest shakes out.

It has nothing to do with who is better...it's who the Eagles will sign at the right price.

Can bash Sanders all you want. But you are just making the point of how bad Gainwell is. Because the difference in the two is light years.

The agenda wasn't really followed in the playoffs though.   I think you just can't see past your bias.

I'm not bashing Sanders...just stating facts...that are obvious to most.   But Sanders has really been taken a beating with our fanbase recently.

PS. I would also love to see the Gains/Swfit backfield combo and run both out of the back field. GL to your coverage teams when we do this LOL

Oh every DC nightmare. All the sleepless nights DCs have to spend gameplanning their double teams on Gainwell.
