Big East should have never let such a pathetic program be a part….especially for football. How much did that have to do with the complete disappearance of the Big East as a football conference?

Idk about the politics... the Big East basketball conference was awesome back then....but Temple was in the Atlantic Ten.    Was weird being in 2 different conferences.   I have no clue what they did with baseball?   Rowing they were always good.  Basketball was the money maker though

Thought you were an OSU fan? Still remember Vinnie Testaverde and those breezes showing up in army fatigues to get beaten by my Nittany Lions.

I like all FL teams too since that was my second home LOL

I stopped watching college as I got a job at the nursery during the weekend in college...  I remember Washington and either Penn State or Miami as co- national champs....and I was like WTf is that?  How do you not decide in a game?  That's what turned me off to college football.  The rankings BS , running up the scores, padding the schedules etc.

Plus the weird rules... hash marks way too wide....one foot in bounds...and a player down without being touched???  RBs rushing for 200 yards...lol.   just awful.

In ‘93 the Big East had four teams ranked in the top 25. What was Temple doing with them? That’s a pretty strong conference that completely got poached and disappeared, football part. Football drives the big money….as we all know. Big East was in a position to have really become something very significant and powerful. But had Temple and Rutgers weighing down their football. Had all these others weighing down the money that didn’t play football. Could easily see a different path could have resulted in the Big East being right there behind the Big Ten and SEC as a major conference power. Big Ten made 845 million in revenue last season. Big East was clearly smart for avoiding cashing in on anything near those kind of financial profits.

The Big East football crumbling is probably one of the largest factors that created the environment that is being shaped presently. Two super conferences and the ACC. Power has been consolidated. Will the ACC even survive nearly the same? Wouldn’t be hard to envision Miami, FL St and Clemson moving to the SEC. Big Ten could just pick what remaining team or twos market they choose.

Networks already throwing insane money at the Big Ten and SEC. But now they are cornering the market. If you want to broadcast college football it really is becoming a battle over bending over to overreach for one of the two conferences. Tons of viewers watch the football. But networks will be willing to pay even more because of everything having football does all around for all their programming.

How far are the SEC and Big Ten from practically just breaking off from the NCAA taking over total controls? They already are reaping massive rewards on the playoff system setup. SEC has two teams involved seemingly every year getting that money rolling in.

This Secret Service agent, Landis, just wrote a book. He was 15 feet from Kennedy when assassinated. He got Jackie to let go of the President once they reached the hospital. He says he found a bullet sitting on the backseat. Picked it up and put it in his pocket. Placed it on the presidents gurney in the trauma room. He had to make a full report to the Secret Service. But it had never been revealed elsewhere. Landis is 90 now. As much as so many have tried to dig through what actually occurred that day…doesn’t sound like any knew about this bullet.

 Found this interesting.

Yeah...it was Temple 's fault....lol

This is an interesting mystery.   Not the bullet in the car.. but the fact that 60 years later...nobody really knows.  And the " shooter" gets shot live on TV?

All the people who were not working that day ...etc?    People hearing shots from different directions??

Definitely would be curious to know what really happened.  And who is all involved.

Btw....the answer with Temple was simple....they needed a team they could beat to puff up their rankings..and also a draw for basketball.  Remember the idea back then was ..you play us in football,  we will play you in basketball.

Right off the bat in fantasy all 4 teams TE's won't play LOL Already had to dump 4 bench picks-wonderful

Patriots RB been real ill. Saying he plans to try to suit though.

Will Bradbury man the slot today? JuJu is the main WR weapon to take away. Then it’s their TEs.

Pats gotta want a 17-14 type game. Low scoring as possible. Be interesting to see if  I can notice the Pats running the clock right off the bat. Getting a couple first downs and winding down the clock shortening the game is a win for them. Especially if our O doesn’t hit the ground running first game.

TE is worst fantasy investment.  Njoku, Freiermuth, Schultz, the rookie from Detroit... get much cheaper and little difference from the top guys besides Kelce.

Lol TE was one of my last picks now I have Laporta(9 points not bad) and scooped up Kincaid…. So banking on one of them

Depends.I got Andrews in 2, Kittle in one and Waller in the other(leagues not round taken LOL). When you draft late you gotta snag a stud when you can find one. I took them because they would yield more than the BPA WR, Just DUMB luck all 4 would be out(although now I am hearing Kittle will play) Losing a BU Wr sin't too bad(I had to cut my BU D in one) because the WR's will change after a few weeks of injuries. So I got Andrews BU in 3 of them and Kmet in the 4th one. Not worried the rookies will drop alot of players after a bad week 1 showing and I will snap them up

OH no,there it is!!!!!!The excuse for not being gashed HAHAHAHA(still no number given after PAGES of requests for a straight answer) lol

Unless Hurts decides to drop more balls or we take 6 penalties every 1/4, if we can only muster 17 points we're already done for the year

As previously stated, their TE's are the only way they stay close. Not great TE's, but capable, nice break in/test for our LB's and S's because they will face better ones later

Recently watched a special on the assassination with another bit I never heard before. There's a railroad office behind a fence beyond the grassy knoll. The guy manning it saw 2 men behind the fence then 2 puffs of smoke when the shots were fired. Also Oswald was seen in the cafeteria when the shots were fired. The only way there is a set of stairs and there were people on those stairs when it happened, so Oswald could not have been in 2 places at once.

Only saw part of the game and missed this. Lots of fans po'd at the officials for not calling Kansas City Chiefs right tackle Jawaan Taylor on a bunch of false starts and illegal formations. Almost makes me want to rewatch the SB, would just be another thing to po Eagles fans about that game.

IDK why they don't put nano chips in the end of the ball. They could track exactly where the ball was when a player goes down. They already have overhead cams and EZ cams,so seems to me this would be easy to do. Would stop alot of challenges.Refs would know exactly where to place the ball within .00001 of an inch,no more eyeballing it

SO my Pseudo/default team Carolina plays ATL. Both teams in need of help. Should be a good game with zero consequences 🤣 I'm planning on Sanders going over his fantasy budget of 9.2 points LOL. If he plans on having a good game, this would be the one. I will be interested in seeing how QB's do with their new teams,Mayfield and Carr in particular
